Hey guys, ive attached a picture to show what i mean better, but basically ive installed my new coilovers on the front of the car...and wanted to make sure i didnt screw up any of my spring rate settings.... Basically, the only thing im concerned about, is when i was lining the new coilover kit up.....i lined up the top and placed through the two holes, and loosely screwed the two 14mm nuts....i then rotated the spring (yes the spring), which in turn rotated the whole unit which made it easy for me to line up the bottom of the shock to the thread, once it was in, it was smooth sailing, i never even touched any of the pallets at all.... So my concern, was rotating the spring a bad idea?, im sure all rotating the spring does is compress it, uncompress it etc.... Pic reveal a 1000 words, itll explain it better.

Cool - good to know its not something overly bad - first time it happened i was not going to drive it and was turning back home, but as i was turning back on the way it all seem to fix it self, thats when i knew its a startup thing, so i have never really worried too much about it, once it gets going, its fine! - maybe 1 minute driving before its all ok
  4. Hey guys, my new motor is great, only problem is when its cold in the morning, it splutters a bit, like a feeling you get when a cooler pipe is look or come off....once heated ~3-4 mins driving, its fine, and doesnt happen at all....is this common??? Thanks
  5. Just wondering if i should be ok fitting 5mm wheel spacers on my r33 gtr???front and rear, i hear different opinions from different people......most say 5mm you wont affect handling or anything...others say it will....i just want a tougher look to my car.

Got the motor back, even 165 accross all 6, turbos have N1 labelled on plate, and also have Garrett M24 AR60 written on them, mechanic said they are ball bearing, and i can also hear them winding down just after the motor is turned off..would this mean they are deifinte r34 n1''s? Im getting a fuel pump fitted - bosh 040, and some injectors aswell (nismo 555cc), i wont need a fuel regulator will i??. Also deciding whether to go std power fc with hand controller, or d-jetro etc....???

Hey guys, are these r34 n1's suppose to handle more boost than the stock setting, as ive just put in a rb26dett motor to replace my blown one from the r33, and the new engine feels the same - cant tell the different at all....though it is running stock boost right now - im not going to up the boost till my fuel pump and injectors + tune goes in, and until i know the new motor is all OK.
  8. Hey guys, just wondering if the type m rear bumper pods will fir on a gtr aswell?, i dont really like the gtr-pods (bit extreme look for my liking), and the type m pods if they fit, will just give everything a nice look, and make the rear look lower from the side profile. Thanks.
  9. thanks yeah, it was at half way mark for awhile then statrted to climb to 3/4, then i turned off the engine....somehting is going on,....
  10. Tried all that and still no luck, radiator is fine!, im hoping its not internal now...While on the subject, i noticed, as soon as that heater went on, the temp rose much faster, whats normal on the gtr???, it was half way on the guage, then its starts to raise...so engine goes off!
  11. tried the bleeding, no luck, still getting hot, seems to be getting hot still - could the radiator have been clogged with crap after the headgasket blew?, im getting it flow tested and clean to make sure its all good, as when we did remove the radiator, we did knock the fan assembly on it by accident ever so slightly....   14. We just done an rb26 motor replacement, as old one died, and the temp guage shows as overheating....is this a thermastat problem or something else? new Motor sounds extremely nice and healthy...

  16. Hey guys, im wanting to know whats a good reading for a compression test on an rb26 engine, i just got a new motor put in, and would like to make sure its going to be healthy for me. Basically the guy i bought it off advised me the readings he got before giving the motor to me were: 165.7 165.8 167.3 170.2 165.1 165.4 Is this a healthy motor?, and i want to do a leakdown just to make sure.... How much will it cost to get a compression test done, and wet/dry leakdown test??? Thanks.
  17. Have purchased some Greddy Adjustable Cam gears as well for my tune, and since theres only around 3 or so tuners here in NZ for the Fcon Pro, ive decided on the Power FC...also is ~165 across all 6 cylinders a good compression reading for an r33 gtr motor??? Thanks.

  19. Perfect? - how far in the guards will they be, or will they protude outside of the guard, or sit pretty much flush, reason is i take my car to show days, and sit the car really low on these special occasions:L)...
  20. Hey Guys, ive got some 18x9.5"et12 rims waiting to be put on my r33 gtr, and were wondering how they are going to look with that offset, will it sit flush or close to flush with the guard, i want that tough street look..... btw they are te37 in white on white gtr.
  21. thanks - thats all i needed to know, well the most reputeable tuner here in nz for gtr's runs the hks fcon pro for tuning, as he finds he can do more with them....maybe ill go this path, as alot of others have with no problems.... heres the list i have: stock internal rb26 motor bosch 040 fuel pump 550cc nismo injectors xforce dumps into 3" exhaust stock cooler arc panel filter and arc cold air box Nismo N1's R34 bb turbos Fcon-Pro and ill buy adj cam gears greddy or tomei items... theres my hopeful recipe for safe 300+ awkw... thanks
