  1. AP-414-N012 and I wish you good luck. I had a quick look through Up Garage and couldn't find any. But as a guide to what they are worth, have a look at these auctions and what they FINISH at. http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k56217807 http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h56222394
  2. Ah it wasn't too hard 1 - Disinfect 2 - Check Battery 3 - Twist end and select vibration speed 4 - Lie back and enjoy the ride 5 - Smoke Cigarette Joking, joking, joking... Unfortunately my Japanese is not very good compared to some others on here. Akeenan and dodgybrooks seem would be the guys to PM if you don't get a response before then as they know cars AND Japanese.
  3. Oh noez... that whooshing noise you may have heard was that original bit of cheekiness going over my head My bad.
  4. I think with those extendor things they are a little flexible. 南港 = なんこう = Nanko
  5. Well the guy told me it could be done, but his car had the older 4:3 navigation, I am not sure if the later model one in the car you are looking at uses the same system. I don't really think a functioning navigation system is quite as important in Oz as it is in Japan so I would be more worried about bent radiator supports and other things before that. Also if you intend to stay in Japan for the long term, the last thing you need to do is rush into getting a car. Japan has lots of them and better to miss out on a good one you are not sure about than buy a bad one you were in a rush to check.
  6. Enough baiting for one thread. I will stop now.
  7. I asked a few students about this, one in particular who had just bought a new BMW. She chose that as it was the cheapest boutique brand German car (Audi or VW is not cool) available in LHD. So for her anyway the reason was the baller status of owning a European car that looks European. Another common fashion is putting European number plates under the Japanese plates. People even import Lexus from the US so they can have a LHD Japanese car. Very, very former D1 driver Kazuya Bai drives a 240SX so he could have a LHD 180SX.
  8. Also from this thread you will have witnessed the casual Australian attitude and willingness to laugh at ourselves. Apologies... old women too It isn't that bad, as you can see by my join date and post count I have been here and enjoyed it a long time. But judging by the reaction I think people here take themselves a little too seriously. I am back in Australia now and it is amazing how uptight Aussies are, quite contrary to our international reputation.
  9. Welcome to AustFAILia yokotas13... imagine Florida but without the good bits SAU is pretty much the worst afflicted of all Australian forums but most are similar. On this forum there are a few rules NO STRETCH NO GUARD (fender) ROLLING NO SUB-OBTIMAL SUSPENSION GEOMETRY NO STIFF SPRINGS NO SPACERS NO FUN Basically this forum is the youngest batch of old men you will ever meet. They will modify their cars for only performance but label anyone who attempts to use that peformance an irresponsible idiot. As far as wheel fitment goes. In Australia toilets have half-flush (to save water) and when people here talk about flushness. They get confused by their toilet. Unfortunately the only people less interested in fun than SAU are the Australian Police, so there is some justification for their boringness.
  10. Hehehe... Japanese people are as good at negotiating as they are at; making quick decisions, wearing shoes inside and changing old habits. Good luck! Car looks perfect though. I am in Australia until April 4th so I will be able to reply after that.
  11. South East of Austria then But no point arguing about geography. Hopefully if you like Japan during your holiday. Probably best to keep in the finance industry, earn lots of money then come on nice holidays, rather than slum it as a teacher or slave it as a salaryman.
  12. BMW Navi unit is fine, just a CD-ROM away from Aus-spec according to my E39 exporting friend. LOL, E36 is nice, it was a long time ago so all I really remember was having a bit less feedback than I would like as it started to break away. Haha, well I am not a BMW driver any more, so no reason to take me for one. Life changes as you know, doesn't always get better.
  13. Dude, you really gotta chill on the proving yourself to people thing... I sold my E46 318i to come to Japan, and it was a wonderful (albiet gutless) car. You will definitely not be disappointed. I realise they are very different cars, but considering how good the base model is the M3 has to be pretty awesome. I have only driven a E36 M3 and that was pretty nice, but a bit "distant" to drive, a bit like a Playstation. The stock muffler has got to go, but apart from that they are great, 19" tyres have come down in price a lot, so I would go for one with stock 19's and Aussies always want a sunroof. Unless your GF wants auto then I would personally steer clear of the SMG II, but it is probably easier to sell with it.
  14. Oh did anyone mention the career suicide bit? The whole, rendering yourself useless to the rest of the world thing. p.s. LOL at European background. It seems to me that only people whose origins lie east of Austria use that one
  15. I am attempting to work at the car auctions in Japan at the moment so if you would rather pay rip off Laurence prices than rip off retail prices then I would be sort of happy to help. If you are willing to get a car that isn't black or white then you will be able to pick up a bargain if you wait long enough. People I work with have exported E39 5-series BMWs and made decent money, but they take a while to sell. Do you have someone in Australia who can help you?
  16. If you work in a company with a Japanese branch, like NAB or KPMG, suck up to the right manager for a year or two then you might be able to get transferred to the Japan branch that way. Then you want flexibility?... well that is difficult in an Australian firm, but it is absolutely impossible in a Japanese one. You will be "working" until the last train, or out drinking with people from work until the last train. But in a nutshell nobody is interested in you as an accountant unless you can speak Japanese at business level. So the very very simple answer to your question is 110% no.
  17. There are much better options for Japanese men than their wives.
  18. Yeah, it is amazing how heavy Nissan managed to make a 16x6.5 wheel!!!
  19. Given the number of hikikomori in Japan I think a lot of Japanese people don't like Japanese people either. It is a viciously cutthroat society.
  20. Well they are using a Mustang dyno. So I guess if they are Mustang sort of people it takes a long time for them to count numbers that high on their fingers.
