  1. I would be pretty confident that the weight of the wheels isn't the problem. Even if they do save some weight. High offset big caliper GT-Cs would add quite a bit of ugly.
  2. *cough* and we look a few posts back and ummm... errr Anyway, enough bickering. I got the answer I needed which is that it is essentially a meaningless bit of marketing jargon rather than some particularly useful technical distinction. I mean if I couldn't work out the R35 was IRS or the engine was not connected to the transmission I would have the answer to why my knuckles drag along the ground when I walk. As always SAU provides a nice mix of infotainment. Thanks
  3. No, it doesn't at all, because now I have two different but perfectly cromulant answers to the same question. Hehe, well I guess it isn't.
  4. So an independant transaxle is a transaxle... Sorry for doubting you Nisskid, I just expected a bit more from Nissan's jargon department. To be honest I am not sure that it should be called a transaxle at all, looks to me like a normal gearbox slid back with the diff welded on the rear.
  5. What is an independant transaxle? edit: I have a horrible suspicion that either a) nobody knows or b) it is what nisskid said Might as well stick an Radial Tuned Suspension badge on it while we are there.
  6. Defintely need to get a small spacer on that. I would hate to see the spokes cracked like below. I have read that if you run spacers your car will magically explode.
  7. Please excuse my ignorance but what is an independant transaxle?
  8. Good to hear, I gotta get myself a Koichi... actually I have just finished vomiting from food poisoning. I think Brie and I need some time apart.

  10. I get called goshujin-sama all the time
  11. I have heard it referred to as "canyoning" so I guess that could be where that name comes from.
  12. This movie deal is actually just a nice little promo for Mine's new range of VX Flux Capacitors
  13. Well even if he hasn't, I have and they aren't. End of story, lets all just move on with our lives.

    Number Plates

[Michael] of course is in Australia which would offer an additional level of comfort and security over dealing with a known sca... errr ...seller living in Japan

    Number Plates

I am not in Oz but I can get you those plates if you wanted. I got some for another poster in this thread and he seemed reasonably happy about the whole thing.
  16. I think it took someone EXTREMELY special to take that comment literally. Thanks for being that person. Try and keep an eye out for these little yellow things, maybe read this page too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EmoticonThe point is, once people crack the GT-R and start to get serious modifying it we are going to see some pretty impressive times. All of which will be above 50 seconds.
  17. Step 1 - Find out category you want to enter Step 2 - Work out the class in that category that suits the car most Step 3 - Build car to category rules Step 4 - Buy tyres, petrol, parts Step 5 - Enter events Step 6 - Repeat Steps 4-6 You don't need a CAMS cage to screw around on track days (unless that has changed since I left Oz) so building the car for sprints or to some imaginary ideal spec is not a good idea. You may find that a car that runs such narrow wheels stock is not able to run 9" rears as R338OY suggested, categories have very strange rules that mean you often have to do weird things, so don't go out buying wheels or GT-R wings before you know you can use them. Guys like Roy know a lot about these sort of rules so his advice is very useful. Personally I would stick an RB25DET in it, stock brakes (which Sydneykid says are fine), big radiator, big oil cooler, some gauges, a seat and a GT-R front bar, BN Sports bonnet and a stock GT-R spoiler with some extension to raise it up a bit. Then the widest wheels I could fit under the arches with the narrowest recommended tyre size then lower it lots so the roll centres are wrong (just to annoy people).
  18. Well apart from the M3 CSL I don't think any cars come with tyres quite as "factory issue" as the GT-R's Once someone really goes to town on an R35 I am waiting for the first sub-50 second lap
  19. Hehehe there you go chasing plastic trophies again... what you need to do is chase the plastic trophy inside your heart.
  20. Penalty schmenalty... evil_weevil has the right idea. Get a reliable car with enough power to make the chassis have a think and it is done.
  21. Farkin... well I am in Japan... sorry I should read this forum more.
