  1. Guys, Ive also got 4 brand new Front & Rear Nissan OEM Brake Rotors. They did about 1500kms on the car before being switched out to AP J hooks. I'll sell them for $500 each or $1500 for the lot. Thanks. Miles. 0418 290 615.
  2. Hi Guys, Ok I've got some used spare parts and I'm prepared to let them go pretty cheap to free up some space in the garage. 2010 OEM 20 inch wheels with 50% used Dunlop's - $3,000 (There are a few scratches on two of the wheels. Easily fixed if repainted though) Full exhaust - $2,500 80 mm straight through dump pipes 100 mm twin resonated midpipe 90 mm Rear section Inc two mufflers This is the full exhaust that I ran on the car at Bathurst last November. Its not going to save you as much weight as a titanium system would but its still much lighter than stock and It's super quiet for daily driving but when you get the power down it comes on song very nicely. It's good for up to 800 hp. I'm selling it because I need something lighter. here is a clip of how it sounds 2x OEM Front seats - $5,000 for both 2x OEM Doors white - $5,000 for both 1xOEM Bonnet white - $3,000 2xOEM Turbo Chargers - $4,000 for both Give me a call or email if your interested. 0418 290 615 [email protected] Miles..
  3. no prob dude. all good. such a weapon of a car... bring on next year.
  4. haha... who needs a girlfriend when you have a GTR? just think if you didnt have a wife & kids you could have been there with me... you let the team down dude...
  5. adjusting belts because the car is so f**king fast i have to keep strapping in tighter.. when you hit the brakes it tries to throw you through the front window. I dont think any traditional manual box could do a 2.15 - not unless they were a pro driver. look at all the cars under 2.20 they have double clutch or sequential boxes which to me is basically the same.
  6. Thanks for all the comments guys. First up a massive thanks to CRD for all the time and effort that they put in to get this car to the mountain again, since last year we have put a cage in it, stripped out about 60kgs, added bigger injectors and Sucrogen E85 this all equals about 600 hp and 1050 nm of torque. Other than the new Bilstein Suspension & Forged Performance Sway Bars the car is the same as last year. The car ran so strong all week and we never had one reliability issue. Its a testament to Jim, Josh & Con at CRD - i recon Josh could be the No1 R35 mechanic in the country - no one has spent as much time on an R35 as he has. This car has run strong now for two and a half years and nothing has blown up or broken touch wood! I'm honestly surprised that the thing hasnt detonated given the absolute hiding ive given it... Ive also got to thank Bilstein / Heasmans (Jonathon & Brad) for the Suspension set up and advice over throughout the event. If any of you guys out there are thinking about aftermarket Suspension then the Bilstein MDS gear from Germany is the only option (this is the same stuff used by Nismo but its the steel bodied shock Vs the Nismo aluminum gear. Forget all the others out there HKS, Tein, JRZ etc the Bilsteins are by far superior and best of all they are fully serviceable and tuneable here in Sydney at Heasmans. I'm also happy to share our Eibach Spring Rates plus Bump and Rebound settings. Also massive thanks to Martin Donon from Willall. My gearbox has 26,000 kms on it with Willall fluid and it hasnt missed a beat. Martin also supplied me with the Brake Spray kit and it was simply awesome. This allowed me to really give the brakes punishment for 5-8 laps. Around Bathurst thats a massive effort so thanks Willall. Lastly if you want to get a cage in this car then Chris from Killer Customs is your man... Quick rundown of the event. Honestly on Thursday morning i was struggling to find set up and confidence in the car, i was lapping at about 2.25 and wasnt sure that i would go faster than last year. We made so many changes with set up and i hadnt had a chance to test it at the creek before the event due to rain. Along with the Bilsteins we changed the Front Upper arms to the Dodson arms for -4 degree front Camber and we put Hard Race rear arms for -2.5 degree camber. I also went to a much bigger Michelin Slick 28/71/18 on the front and 31/71/18 on the rear. So to help find some confidence i asked Steven Richards if he could take me for a few laps in the car so i could see where the grip was. Bathurst is one of those places that you think you remember what its all about but then you quickly realise that its going to take some adjustment and your concentration levels have to step right up. Anyhow Steven did 2 laps with me and on his second lap ripped off a 2.19. That was it for me - i immediatley found what i was missing and next session out on Thursday i was lapping in the 2.19's as well. We then set about making some changes to the car. We changed the rebound settings and Bump settings and moved the front sway bar to full stiff. Friday morning i did a 2.17.9 and then asked Steven to again take me for a few laps - he did a 2.17.4 with me ridding passenger. From here it was just a matter of getting my lines tighter and getting the braking points perfect. Sunday morning session we got the 2.15 straight up. The lap wasnt that clean and i made a few mistakes but the car was running out of Brakes by the 3rd flying lap and at turn 2, the S's and the Elbow i didnt think i would pull it up. I had to get it into the corners just a bit sooner than i wanted because the track was so dirty off line i didnt want to run the risk of going wide into the marbles which would have put me in the wall like one of the Lambo's. Anyhow if i had another crack i recon there may have been another 1-2 seconds in the lap but we'll save it for next year and go back and crack 2.10. thats the plan... Must also thank: Ryan & Sharif at Forged Performance Stephen at Just Jap Trevor from Michelin Bruce Hibbard for just being a legend and giving me the confidence to push hard
  7. Thanks Jonathon for clearing that up. Yes i was driving and im going to give you guys a full rundown of the event tonight when i can get a minute. Miles.
  8. Yeah Mark agree with you there. Sorry i meant that all tyres were consistent with each other and yep different temps from outside, middle to inside. Im running 35-36 hot in the slicks and it actually takes quite a bit of time to get it right. Im finding that you have to do 3 laps come back in and drop the pressures, then do another 3-4 laps and check them again, possibly let more air out. Usually after this you can then leave them and they cool down and heat back up to about 35 without having to come in and check them every time. We need to run our cars back to back!
  9. thanks fellas. Its not that hard to get your car there honestly, i can help you organise it anytime you want to go. Just send it with CEVA to Melbourne. Fly down and drive it to the island. Easy!!! The car doesnt have that many power mods really. Its got HKS Intercoolers, HKS Tranny cooler, HKS Boost controller, HKS Intercooler piping, Mines filters, COBB, full exhaust etc... Its only putting out 385kw at the wheels on 98 fuel. Ive managed to lighten it though by about 100kg which makes a big difference...
  10. Ive been trying to get the GTR back to Phillip Island ever since we did the Nissan GTR drive day their with Mizuno & Toshio. I managed to get a solid 3 days driving by combining Sat practice, Sunday Sprint and Monday track day with Drive Events. I sent the car down with CEVA logistics in their race transporter which meant no issues like 09 GTR has with Toll last year. It cost $900 to be picked up from my office and dropped in Melb CBD. From here i picked up the car and drove it to the Island. Sat morning i ran my road tyres for 1 session just to get the feel for the track but it was clear after 5 laps that i was wasting my time on the Dunlops and lap times were about 1.47 to 1.48 straight up. After the 1st session i put a brand new set of 19 inch Michelin slicks on and WOW I knew that we were going to be flying by the end of the weekend. So after a few more sessions on Sat I called it a day so i could leave the slicks in good condition for the Sunday Sprint. Sunday morning 1st session sucked. They didnt let the cars out in order of speed and i got caught up with traffic and no matter what i did i couldnt get a clean lap... i would let everyone pass and then take off after them but it didnt matter cause i would catch them in half a lap... anyway i pulled in early on the 1st session a bit pissed cause i dusted up the slicks quite a bit trying to get a lap in. Next session was better - they let me out first and i made sure that all 26 cars were on track behind me before i took off on my flying laps. I got 2 flying laps before catching up the back of the field and we were down into the 1.43's or so. Third session much the same happened but i managed to get a 1.42.055 out of the car. This ended up being my fastest time and the fastest time for the weekend. The closest guys were about 3-5 secs slower. So all up a great weekend and i know the car can go sub 1.40 with the right conditions of slicks, I also need to perfect my lines on the track remembering that id never driven here before this weekend. We did the track day on monday as well but the car developed a big missfire due to some fueling issues and stuffed plugs - so called it a day and the car is now resting before getting another hammering on the 4th March at the island again. This track is honestly next to Bathurst the best track ive ever driven. Its so fast and smooth. If you can somehow get your car down there its a must do... Here are some recent pic's of the car. Next up is a rollcage cause its just too fast now... and i cant run Bathurst this year on slicks without a cage... So ive got the fastest laps now at Bathurst and Phillip Island... Next up im off to Sandown to set the fastest GTR lap in Early April at the Sandown Sprint then back up to Eastern Creek to beat Dunc & Marek... watch out boys im coming for your lap times...
  11. guys im only running -2.5 front -2 rear and honestly i think its about all you need. Ive run my GTR at EC, Bathurst, and now Phillip Island (probably done more track time than anyone in Australia at the moment) and unless someone can prove to me with lap time improvements that its worth another 3-5k investment in getting more camber i think you are wasting your money. If it makes any difference its marginal. My 19inch Michelin slicks after 3 days at the Island last weekend were worn perfectly evenly and tyre temps were consistent across the tyres all weekend etc.
  12. Just watched my video footage of the 2.21 lap at bathurst and at 299 on the speedo on 19inch slicks in 6th the rev shift lights are on. So Dunc im very close to hitting limiter in 6th. Speedo has to be reasonably accurate i think.
  13. P.S. have you had a close look at how much wider the 20 inch slicks are Vs your 18's... There is a Big difference. If that sidewall on those yokohamas is Stiff - then for sure this is going to be the best option. Remember we are not really racing on these tyres so all that stuff below may not be that appropriate for our 4-5 lap sprints. 1. The increased diameter of the tread band permits easier conformation of the tire to the flat road surface; the tire's tread “maps” to the road surface more readily. This results in improved temperature distribution and increased performance over a longer duration. 2. The greater diameter also increases the total amount of tread rubber available to transfer power to the ground, again improving temperature distribution and prolonging performance consistency. 3. The taller sidewall helps cushion the shock of power application, providing more progressive corner exit with less wheelspin during aggressive acceleration. Then again maybe im way off????
  14. fellas the 19s were awesome, i loved them. hard to draw a conclusion between Paul and I because my car was set up a lot better and I also had a lot more seat time over the 5 days Vs Paul only about 3 days. By end of the Sprint i was about 5 sec's quicker than Paul. But ive got no doubt he can do the same times as me when his new car is set up better. Sure the 18's have more sidewall but my 19s were a little wider i think. Ive got some video which shows me pulling 299 down the straight and Pauls car on 18's was pulling virtually the same numbers. Really came down to who had the better setup... I was flat till last sec and after backing off and pulling 5th was getting into the chase at 260 showing on speedo. When i pulled 5th into the chase the engine was working hard touching the rev limiter most of the time so im guessing that if anyting the actual speed was 10-20kmph lower if you know what i mean. Honestly i dont think we will see much difference between 18s and 19s. But Dunc we will get some good comparisons at EC in the new year... i'm aiming for a 1.38... Im sure the Japs have done the testing with 20 inch slicks and if they are using them there must be advantages.... anyway we'll find out soon.
