  1. Well I ran my (rather ordinary) street tyres, and my brakes faded like buggery after just 2 decent laps .... my tyres were so bad I got massive understeer into every corner (regardless of my entry speed) and my traction control flashed exiting every corner .... I would think some decent rubber would chew quite a few seconds off my 1:30 best lap. Might be time to invest in some real Brembos too
  2. Yep I spotted the candy blue Hot Wheels car today around Golden Grove .... and yes I agree it looks like it is trying way too hard and wishes it was in the Fast and the Furious. He had it for sale for ages, but didn't sell so must have taken it off the market.
  3. ok I have cleaned most of the recent crap up. Thanks for pointing it out Karl. Keep it on topic people, delete you double posts if you make them (you have 3 minutes to edit or remove a post if I am not mistaken), and don't chit chat in here - if you want more info or pics PM or email the seller!
  4. Had a top day - thanks for organising the event Kim! I was pretty happy to wring a 1:30.3 out of the near stock auto V35, which is the same time I was getting out of my old 6 speed S15 with 200rwkw. Definitely need better/bigger brakes to stop the massive fade and some much better tyres than the pos's that were on there. I find it completely bizarre that GTRs with nearly double the power only go 6 seconds (=7%) a lap faster .... I guess it is the nature of the sport. But scary too that Glenn's hairdresser's car (MX5) was doing 1:34s, and HELSLO's (turbo) Starlet actually beat me by around half a second. Yikes. Burnt as faaaaaaaaaaark and going for yet another lay down now .... might call it a night (despite all the work I should be doing) and get up fresh and early in the morning *yawn*
  5. Glad to hear it all went well guys!!! Love the name Riley too .... welcome to the weird and wonderful world of parenthood
  6. ah ok, now I have read Sled's post (posted the same time I did mine) it would seem there is indeed more to this than it seems (and I don't recall it from 18 months ago). Sled's post rules, and I agree the thread is locked.
  7. There are always 2 sides to every story .... I don't disbelieve you, but let me assure you this kind of thing has been tried by many people before who have done the wrong thing, so it is very hard for mods to ascertain whether or not you are on the level, especially since quite a few things don't add up. Firstly, where is the post where you advertised this group buy? I can see all current and deleted threads, so there MUST be proof. Why didn't you collect full payment or at least deposits? This must be the first group buy ever where the organiser or a group buy, who is not making any profit has footed the entire bill for a shipment of goods. You may be too trusting I fear and it would seem you have been burnt. But my suggestion is to put up an ad in the SA for sale thread, and put an ad on Ebay, and flog them that way. Yes, it would seem from the facts you have presented you have been wronged, but I assure you the SAU mod that you have dealt with would not have intentionally intended to alienate you, but rather enforce the rules within which we have to operate SAU. Hope it all works out for you.
  8. I am up for one of these - can I just pay one of you guys when I catch up with one of you - I can come to Valley View and pay on delivery if that is ok.
  9. I'll be at City Dismantlers at 7:15amish
  10. Have you tried the search function? Can you please not write in blue, as it looks retarded/unreadable in SAU Dark skin
  11. yep I am happy to contribute $10 to store some stuff in a garage
  12. haha the old KFC fried chicken liquid toilet sitdown
  13. Yeah Troy - I know lots of places sell them here - but for something like $3-$4 for a tiny 40gram packet - not $12 a packet I paid for for these 522g babies And yes, I prefer Reeces Peanut Butter cups - but you can't eat many of them at a time - these you can chew on all afternoon I brought home from the US the whole range of Reeces peanut butter products from the Hersheys shop in Times Square - including Reeces Peanut Butter Ice Magic (choc that freezes on your ice-cream) Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
  14. yeah tell Kahli to be much more vigilant in logging out when using other people's PCs - we have had serious issues with someone else posting on her account before ....
  15. Spotted the Ebay fairy delivering these babies today - over 1.5kg of Peanut Butter M&Ms - best chocolates ever made - got addicted to them in the USA and can't stop
  16. Hi Andy, you didn't really answer my question - are there any further useful screens that I do not know about - I hope there are, as that would be cool. I applaud your efforts to get this off the ground so far.
  17. So, the cat is out of the bag thanks to the email from Prestige .... $199 sounds inbloodysane ....unless I am missing something here .... aren't the only screens that will be useful the fuel economy (which Andy seems to have buggered up with egging on from others re: changing from the current useful measure of km/l to the completely useless l/100km - I want to know if I put in 30L how far I will get - not have to work out converting from l/100km and back again) and the servicing distance screens? This doesn't seem like anything close to $199 of value to be able to read in English when the numbers are all we are really keen on anyhow .... So, are there other screens that we currently cannot read that actually would be useful in English? Why you haven't posted detailed screenshots of all of these screens yet is beyond me .... we have only been waiting around 6,000 years .... Sorry to sound so negative, but it all seems a bit silly to me - timeframe, cost and usability.
  18. ^^^ aww I was down the Bay earlier and didn't spot anyone .... nearly finished my PADI Scuba Diving Certification today - last dives for my cert. tomorrow off Seacliff and Broken Bottom (and no, it's not a gay diving site )!
  19. Yeah I have cruise control. But in SA the country speed limit is 110km/h and we have 10% tolerance here, so I sit on around 118km/h on the freeway. Hence 10km/l is absolute max.
  20. ^^^ nah mine says that when I drive it a little bit on the highway after filling up .... then calms right down back to reality .... I get between 5.9km/l and 7.4km/l in my coupe - and ran 10km/l on a highway trip .... fyi when it is only 5.9km/l I have done LOTS of sitting around idling with the a/c on full bore in 39 degree heat (like today) while I am working writing up reports on the go. Forecast is for 39 tomorrow and 40 Sunday cooling down to 28 Monday but back up to 40 next weekend - yikes! Gotta love Adelaide weather! (and I do).
  21. Despite the fact it looks like a Palm tree is growing out of the roof, I like this pic I snapped the other day whilst in Mawson Lakes
  22. I may be able to twist Munro's arm to bring out the R35GTR since it is a show extremely local to us - or I could bring the R35 for him since he works weekends. Will let you know if he is keen
  23. nah she doesn't want a real 4wd - just a pretend little one that is bigger than a sedan, but not so big as to be a bugger to drive around. Even the CRV is not that comfortable for long trips compared to the Accord Euro, so she is rethinking a bit. I am working on her for something like a Grange .... bigger than the Euro, but still a normal car, rather than a big clunky 4wd. We often do interstate trips (Warrnambool and Great Ocean Rd this Xmas), so really want some serious comfort. And she NEEDS all the important things that the Euro has like leather seats, moon roof, seat heaters, auto headlights, auto windscreen wipers, etc etc.
  24. I am keen on this pending permission from the ball and chain
  25. Yeah I now own a black V35 coupe that I will be running at the Mallala track day Kim!
