  1. Why did I buy our Honda MDX, many & varied reasons, predominantly because it is a family car which we can take offroad. I enjoy taking my family up the beach on Bribie Island & I go to Hervey Bay on business monthly & often take my family. We quite often go to Fraser Island also. My wife & I test drove literally dozens of different vehicles before we purchased the Honda & at the end of the day, Ang was happy in this car as it was easier to drive & more comfortable than almost anything else. Our car is as easy to drive & park than any dunnydore or falcoon, has better re-sale value, more features & creature comforts & is more functional (in particular 7 seats with the 3rd row that comes up from the floor) - not many passenger "wagons" have this feature. On second thoughts, I'm not going to continue justifying my purchase, last time I looked, these vehicles are legal, it's a free world & there is no way the government will implement legislation to change the law in regard to this area. & to the joker that said they harm the environment, what planet did you come from.... a car is a car mate, no matter what type. I retierate my earlier point which MOST of you are missing, it's not the vehicle that causes accidents 9 times out of 10, it's the driver. My wife & myself have driven high performance cars & 4wd's all our lives, I have been raised in a family that always had 4wd's, and none of us have ever had an accident or been involved in one, other than when people have done something to us. So why don't most of you build a bridge & get on with life.....
  2. Common people this car really must go, any serious offer will be accepted.... Cheers Cam
  3. That's a very intelligent response isn't it..... I take it personally that you think I'm a stupid, inconsiderate prick. I challenge you to come up to my office & say it to my face after I take you for a drive in my $80,000 "4wd" that would be safer than your bucket champ! It's the driver not the car that's responsible. Cam
  4. Anyone interested in this, it really has to go now, any serious offer will be considered...
  5. As Bob said I've done two boxes now, the first was to be expected (churping all 4 wheels in 3rd at redline), the second however was a bit unexpected, again changing into 3rd but this time the input shaft let go. This second box was a series 3 R33 GTR box with the strengthened synchro's also. BTW my GTR only has around 320 or so rwhp, so it's not putting out massive power. I just got the latest box from Sydney for $1200 2nd hand (freighted) to give you an idea on $$$'s. Good luck with it all... Cheers Cam
  6. Hey guys, I've been shafted a couple of times trying to sell my GTR & I'm at the stage where I really need to sell the car. If anyone is either interested or knows someone who is interested would you please let me know. Here is a link to my ad. Cam
  7. Great to hear mate, your just that BIT closer to Brisbane now!! hehe Any luck with the sale of the Pulsar?? Cheers Cam
  8. My sale has fallen thru..... As a result I have dropped the price to $41,500. If anyone is interested please let me know, Cheers Cam
  9. hehe yeah thanks mate! You should come up & say hello, I'm on the top floor (accountancy practice)... Cheers Cam
  10. Know what your going thru mate, my wife's $80k Honda MDX has had someone park into the back left corner & some young tosser coin the whole side of the car in the same week! At least it's now worth going thru insurance.... You know the worst thing, the side that was coined was up against a brick wall!
  11. Hey mate, The for sale thread that I have put here in this forum, I'm asking $45k. But I think that's a bit much. So I'll be dropping it to $42,000. Have a look at the thread for more details, it's got everything, custom titanium paint job, custom bodykit, 18" Works wheels ($5k alone), cusco coilovers, apexi exhaust & twin tip ($3k alone), high flow turbos etc etc etc Let us know if your mate is interested as I'm really keen to get rid of it now, so I'll be putting it the trading post and heaps of other places this week. Cheers Cam
  12. The sale of my GTR has fallen through, despite the obligatory hand shake, deposit paid etc..... So if anyone knows of anyone who's interested, let me know please.... I've arranged for pics to be taken & for it to be advertised in the trading post & carpoint thru a dealer client of mine, so we'll see how that goes. In the meantime, I'll get a pic of my garage: Left Side R33 GTR V-spec Right Side EVO 8 hehehehe Cam
  13. Well that was what the owner said to me anway.... I know my GTR felt about that much quicker with the motec in it it was incredible the difference.... Yeah I'll still show my head at cruises if you guys let me! hehe Cost = PLENTY!! Cheers Cam
  14. Thanks guys & girls.... If you insist Erin, I'll hang around, don't want to impose a Mitsu on anyone though! BTW that's exactly what I'll be getting for the EVO (Motec M800 plug n play), I am able to simply "swap" over my existing M800 for one of these. The beauty of these is they fit straight into the existing ECU casing!! I'll post some pics up as soon as I get my slow arse into gear... hehe Cheers Cam
  15. Just wanted to say bye to all you fellow line owners, my GTR has been sold & I've now taken delivery of my new ride..... an EVO 8 (yep 1 of only 5 left in the country), Thanks to all for your comments and help with my many trials & tribulations over the last 12 months, this site has been a godsend to me with respect to finding info, contacts etc. So thanks to all... I'm sure I'll see some of you guys around the traps! Cheers Cam
  16. Why did I have to settle down, get married, have kid"s", sell my car etc etc.... DOUGH!! You lucky pric*, I'm jealous.... ENJOY IT mate, BTW, I'll gladly look after your line for you since, hopefully, I won't have one anymore.... Cheers 'the other accountant'....

I have spent an enormous amount of money on this car getting it to the standard it is in. It turns heads everywhere it goes. Cheers Cam
  18. Mate mine's for sale if you are interested, it's not white & original though.... Cam
  19. Just to let people know, I've decided to sell my car. The predominant reason is that Ang & I secured our block of land in North Lakes (finally - we've missed out a couple of times), & we're going to build our dream home & as a result, I need the money "tied up" in the GTR. I'll post an add in the classifieds in the next couple of days, but if anyone knows someone whose interested please point them in my direction. Price will be $45,000 & full specs will be listed in the add. Cheers Cam :wavey:
  20. Hey mate, Good to see you on here champ!! Have u flicked the boost restrictor yet???? Cheers Cam
  21. Thanks all Had a great night, quite a few bottles of penfolds were drunk!!! Got my car back from the panel beater today all fixed! Now to get that Motec sorted.... Cheers Cam
  22. Yeah been told fib.... hehe Guess what, it seems to be exactly what I thought it was in the beginning, the Motec's wiring.... Will know for sure next week, this week the car is off to Mr Smash Repairer!!!!! Cam
  23. Nah mate..... Stock ECU uses a twin fuel pump set up, ie high & low, whereas the Motec uses low only (std setup)... This appears to be why it's missing at the top (on the street under heavy load) as a result of the car squatting, there's not enough fuel being drunk.... hehe. This would explain why the missing at the top of the rev range isn't happening on the dyno (ie it's not squatting)... So the guys are using a connector plug to mimic the stock ECU setup so as to ensure enough fuel is delivered... Keep ya posted!
