Search is your friend! But summing it up, DE+T is illegal and wont pass EPA (from what I read on here somewhere)... So if you do it, do it at your own risk...

Anyone on this forum is renting a house in Cranny north and has Grey R33? always park in the driveway... Moved in recently, just around the corner from me...

im only paying 1800 full comp on my N/A R34... Just jumped on my green p's (got of the reds less then a month ago), had insurance for over a year now with just cars... but im 21, didnt get my license earlier due to too much partying when i was living in portugal! Personnaly i wouldnt wanna go 3rd party cos of the hassle of chasing up stuff, plus the shit ive been slowly adding on to it like sound system, rims, etc... it all adds up and brings up the value of the car, well for me at least, i know when i sell it ill get bugger all probably... But yeah, if you got a stock r32/33 that is worth less then 10g and you dont drive it on a daily basis, I would just get 3rd party. But then again, if you save 1 or 2g on insurance to put towards mods, u r basically uping its value, so when you look at it, it will come to a point you will have to do it anyways if you love what you bought for it... In the end it depends on the person, daily car or not, what you got in it and a bit of luck... -

Yeah I know some P Platers that had money to just buy a R34... They dont have insurance, run on bald tyres, dont even service the car... Some even buy turbo model because it is cheaper then a non turbo n then do dodgys with insurance and still manage to get away with it... Until there is an investigation... That why at night when im cruising Im always at the back of the pack... -

Knock on wood mate! You never know... Bought the R34 with cash and a small short loan just to get some good credit rating... Also got Full comp insurance with Just cars! Lowered the yearly payments by uping the excess... (best way for the worse case scenario)... I bought my 34 on my L's and had it insured straight away... Almost 1 1/2 now... -
Spotted black 33 with SAU stickers at mobile petrol station next to parkmore... got a thumbs up for once! lol Spotted also a grey 33 with SAU stickers on the nepean hwy goin south...

Sounds like ive been spotted, but ive only got a GT... My car hasnt hit puberty yet! LOL (If you saw a green magnetic p plate on the boot, that was me for sure)

Yeah the pipe should be connected, but im just suggesting also to do it since he modified the intake without a reset... just one of various possibilities... About the airbox deading the noise i dunno, as said i ran full intake and pod, it sounded alot diferent and better when accelerting... not like a turbo obviously...
-
Have u reset the ECU to relearn the minor mod? I once had a full custom intake to a pod, sounded mad on WOT, but it wasnt very good on the fuel and my r34 is still a daily car so i took it off... But yeah, when i did the mod, it was running horrible, so i searched and read somewhere around here to reset the ecu and it would go fine... And it did... The way I reset it was by unplugging one of the battery terminals, press and hold the brake for a couple seconds then reconnect the terminal... Hope it helps

I get tons of guys (and girls lately, nice 2 girls in a black GTT next to noble maccas last weekend) trying to drag me! some pretty obvious just opening the window saying "u wanna go?" from others just reving it at the lights trying to fire me up then launch, and also just pulling up next to me while driving on the freeway and then doing small launches trying to see if i go... Oh well, its the life of a p plater

Power to weight is old laws... Dont work for new P platers anymore... Or its a Turbo/V8 or its not... Lucky you go under the old laws!

No need to apply in vic anymore, it goes under auto exemptions! From vicroads website: Exemption to drive a probationary prohibited vehicle 1. Automatic Exemption The Road Safety (Drivers) Regulations 2009, automatically exempt a probationary driver, from the probationary prohibited vehicle restrictions, who is driving the vehicle in the course of his or her employment and at his or her employer’s request or is self employed and an Australian Business Number (ABN) is in force in relation to the person's business. No exemption document is required from VicRoads in these circumstances. However, the onus is on the driver to provide evidence to the police if requested. A person is not permitted to drive the vehicle at any time for social reasons or reasons unrelated to work. In these cases the onus is upon the driver to provide evidence to the police that his or her driving is work connected. A member of the police force who is the holder of a probationary car licence and the holder of an approved Driver Certificate Endorsement for a vehicle of that class is authorised to drive a probationary prohibited vehicle in the course of duty. No exemption document is required from VicRoads. Link: http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/Licenc...tedvehicles.htm

On topic: Suspension wise yes it is compatible! Eyelet type allround... (GTT & GTR's r for type at the back) Off topic: Brakes as jimmy said is another story! Some say they are the same (fitting wise) as GTS-t, some say there the same as the GTT (1 type is 12mm bolts, other is 14mm bolts)... Search the forum and you will see what i mean... i havnt done a brake upgrade yet because of this...

Skylines are becoming more and more of a P plater market! N/A's are selling quick so there making money on it... That excuse doesnt work cos you dont have the option unless you want to break the law.... Believe me, ive tried!

Jeff is the man do talk to there! Bought my R34 GT (White one, exactly the same as that, just no body kit and diferent rims) when i was still on my L's about 1year ago! Never missed a beat! And they dropped the price down a bit too... But there is only one thing I have to say, if you cant afford the insurance nor maintenance, you cant afford the car... Remember for a P plater if youre doing it legit in your name, it will cost you 1/2g full comp easy! Oh and if you want insurance to cover theft, you gotta spend another bit of cash gettin A/S imobilizers in at least. And also check tyres and stuff (obvious defectable items), cos p plates and skylines will get cops on to you straight away at the start when they dont know you (Personal expirience) and they will try and defect you for anything even when you cruisin home mid trafic on your own minding your own business... Not trying to put you off, just putting it out there so it gives you more motivation to bargin people! =P

Spotted you doing chaplaps friday night! =P

Dont tape the end shut! It needs to "breathe", that why its connected to the air filter box... A) Leave the hose there hanging, cops wont like it but its up to you where to role it up and hide it B) Follow where the hose goes and remove the hose complete.

Hey all!! Just wondering how strong are the N/A hubs? Im thinking of upgrading my brakes, and maybe putting my car on the track here and there and mates (Not skyline owners) are telling me to i might need to upgrade the hubs first. they probably wont last, cos its a non turbo it might be too weak to hold," rah rah rah... Just wondering if any of you experts here on the forum can confirm this? I just want to upgrade it all in one go, since im a P'Plater and not allowed performance mods, so im thinking of just putting money towards handeling and braking and in the future when off them, ill just swap the engine. (Still have 3years to go on P's) Thanks in advanced

By vic roads its a no no, but ive never heard someone gettin done for it. Max that ive heard from p plater mates is them getting EPA'd and thats it... Back on topic: Check the sticky's, they have all the info there... Just read!
