  1. Nope not me. My Z is black with black plates TPMTNC. Speaking of work... there's got to be like 5 skylines out at Brindabella park every day. Anyone on here? Also at the cybertrust Bruce datacentre there is a white 'line with a black bonnet, anyone?
  2. Spotted a burgandy R33 siting on the side of the road next to those new apartments beside the tuggeranong pool with a cop, lights flashing right next to it just after 5pm Anyone here?
  3. Personally I have been going to Johnno at Tuggeranong tyre power for years now through my last two cars. I always get the best quote and awesome service... he owns an evo8 but I won't hold that against him
  4. Spotted someone in a black 33 following me most of the way down the parkway coming from the city just before 5pm today. Anyone in here?
  5. You know it's funny, i've been driving performance cars for about 7 years now and I hear regularly from the old farts I work with jokes and comments about us young sportscar driving hooligans and how dangerous we are in these cars... and yet I have had five near misses in suburban areas with stupid kids running out in front of me, the last of which was a couple of weeks ago. All five of these incidents were in Oxley where my parents live. I swear, they must be handing out free stupid pills to the kids in that suburb but I digress... I never exceed the posted speed limit in residential areas and I can say without any doubt, if I had been driving a commondore or a falcon I would have plowed into the little bastards at least three out of the five times. And yet the people driving around in these performance cars with their big wide tyres, monster brembo's and a list of electronic systems as long as your arm are somehow considered MORE dangerous then Joe sixpack in his beaten up old commondore... WTF? That's one I have never been able to work out...
  6. Damn, that's an absolute steal, shame I only have a single garage
  7. DetailFX in Phillip. I've taken my 350Z there three times now and they did a top class job each time. They even took a photo to put on the wall so they must have been happy with the job too
  8. Had a play with a purple 33GTR on athlon going past Kambah and Oxley around lunchtime today. Anyone here?
  9. Would you really want any R34 GTR setting for $65,000?
  10. I took my Z to dent king on Saturday and he did a top job. I'd definitely recommend. Shame he couldn't fix the damage from the side swipe but oh well. I'm sure New-gel will sort that out.
  11. I'm booked in for Saturday 10:30 As of about an hour ago I have a nice big fresh one for him to do as well... Which reminds me. If anyone sees an arsehole in a silver Ford Territory with a big black mark down the paint on his front bumper can you please contact me. This was on the round-about just south of gold creek village at 18:15. No idea where they live. f**kwits that cause accidents and then do a runner before the other guy can turn around are the lowest of the low...
  12. Thanks for that man. Just a couple of small ones. After no driving my Z for over 6 weeks the first day I take it out of the garage and find those dints
  13. Anyone know a good place to get dints removed in Canberra?
  14. Any chance of adding 350Z parts? There's heaps of aussie Z owners here if you are interested: http://www.350z-tech.com/forums/index.php?showforum=79
  15. http://www.shell.com/home/Framework?siteId...me/dir_faq.html from the FAQ: "Does Shell plan to put ethanol in any of its other fuel products? Following the success of Shell Optimax Extreme and in support of the Federal Governments commitment to biofuels targets, our intention at this stage is to expand our use of ethanol. But, as there are some vehicles that are unable to use fuel containing ethanol, Shell does not plan to put ethanol in all petrol products" Thoughts?
  16. Spotted: That ugly arse maroon monstrosity 200sx shown above being washed at the Tuggeranong car lovers at about 10:15-10:45. I am all for people expressing themselves but it was all I could do to stop myself from shitting myself laughing. No matter how bad it looks in those photos it is worse in real life. ...god I hope he has done something with the engine cause that car has been severely beaten with the ugly stick.
  17. I got about 200 metres from my house rushing home to avoid the hail when I got pounded with marble sized hail while at the last set of lights I didn't have the heart to look...
  18. I've already seen what a TT does to the VQ35DE. 280 kw at the rears at 8psi. APS released a TT kit for the Z about a year ago. I saw a video of a Z doing an 11.2 quarter on 91 octane fuel. This is a rear wheel drive car that struggles for traction off the line... imagine that power with awd for traction? http://www.airpowersystems.com.au/350z/350z.htm
  19. VQ35DETT mate The engine already has tuning potential out the arse. Then chuck a couple of snails on it... use your imagination.
  20. well... I did buy a 350Z and I love both. I put a picture of the 350Z next to an R34GTR (two of my favourite cars) mould the two together, make it look a bit more up-market and you have the new GTR. I personally love it. After recently being jerked around in a big way with my Z I will be going to a different dealership but... where do I sign up for one? P.S specs in 2 days now
  21. Well you won't have to wait long. It's being intro'd at this years Tokyo motor show which starts in three days I think that was the production car...
  22. http://www.gtrproto.com/ Pretty sexy. What do you guys think?
  23. A quick cut-and-paste job from another forum I frequent: First of all let me say thanks to nizmo pete for supplying the pads and rotors at an excellent price as well as helping out with finding a courier (I was quoted $800 from Australian air express Syd to Canberra) You're a legend Pete. Thanks heaps for the help. ...ok now onto the interesting bit: I got my bits delivered today and as I was off sick anyway I thought I'd call the local brake specialists (ACT brakes) to book a time to have the brake pads and rotors installed. They then told me they had a quiet day and were free after 2pm. Long story short, they pulled the wheels off while I was off getting a coffee and when I got back they basically said, what the hell were Nissan talking about, I don't need new brake pads OR rotors and won't any time soon... We got out the measuring stick and looked at the thickness of the new pads out of the box 9 millimetres and then looked at what was on the car 6 millimetres front, 7 millimetres back... you f'n what? Those bastards at the Phillip Nissan dealership were going to charge me $5800 when I didn't need either new pads or rotors. The front rotors were dicy wether they could be machined or not but it wasn't warped or aything so there was no need. There is no other way to put it, this was an incredibly blatant attempted screw job by the Nissan dealership! I had to drop back into the dealership to give the details of my head unit as the cd player is playing up and skipping all the time and got to have a chat with the guy who told me that my brake pads and rotors were stuffed and I needed to replace them. As soon as he saw me he had that "oh **** here we go" look on his face, that pretty much says it all. Several notable things happened during the conversation: - He admitted that when I told him that I was going to a brake specialist that he suspected I would be back for a chat. - He said they don't even measure the brake pads when making their "recommendations" - When I rolled my eyes at one of his answers he stepped out from behind the counter in got right in my face and told me that he wouldn't take that look from me, not sure if this was a lame attempt at intimidation or not. - He told me that they weren't brake specialists and basically shrugged his shoulders as if to say, how would we know... gee who'd have thought that the mechanics at the dealership that took my $75,000 don't know something basic like the brakes on one of their own cars. (I wish i'd known that before handing over my money) - Admitted that he too would be pretty pissed to find this out. - Then he went on about a bunch of duty of care crap, which I would have actually bought if there was 3 or 4 mill left on the pads rather then two or three mills off the factory specs. I'll definitely be taking this up with Nissan Australia. In the mean time i'll just go pack this $1700 worth or equipment I didn't need in the first place back up for if/when I actually need it. P.S this really makes me wonder about that new clutch I "needed" to spend a grand on at the last service...
