  2. hi all got my self a rb20det in a VL ive got about $800 to spend and want the best bang for buck... currently it has a large FMIC + 2.5 exhaust so with the extra money r33 series 1 turbo rechipped ECU boost controller some kind of cams? would that seem like a reasonable upgrade?

  5. hi all another question about afc's/computers if i have a low boost setting and a high boost setting, does that mean if i have a rechipped computer in my rb20det, it would only be tuned for the High boost setting? so the low boost setting would be rough and wasting fuel and stuff?
  6. hi all on a budget so which computers are worth it and not? i have a rb20det with FMIC, 2.5 exhaust... looking around, these seem to be the best value E-Manage Apexi SAFC jaycar safc (tuning would be a problem though?) so basically they are all piggy back units.. the apex SAFC would be simpler to tune by your self where as the E-manage needs to be tuned via computer... any input would be helpful thanks

  8. did you do the wiring yourself? id make sure that the wiring is all connected good... maybe fuel filter.. but i doubt it as you said it was running fine... in mine it would rev over like 3000rpm when i did the conversion... change fuel filter and off she went.

  11. ok, i think its a 1995 rx7, you can only import them for race/rally use... now, u can import one for about $13000 or cheaper and in australia they are $30-50000 so if you have lets say a bare shell thats road legal in australia, would taking out the whole of the import and putting it into the aussie car make it legal?
  12. hi all if the car is only available for import for race and rally use, can you still use stuff out of it in a road registered car here in australia? eg: can i take the engine out of the import and use it in my australian car?

  14. yeah, i wanted an r32... i guess ill be looking for a r33 now... is there any interior dimension differences between gtst and gtr? i guess the gtr bucket seats would be smaller than the gtst?
  15. well, i can drive a manual nissan micra... the problem i mostly have is when changing gears my knee hits the steering wheel and i cant put it into 5th gear because my leg is in the way
  16. hi all how tall are you and what cars do you drive? if anyone could measure how far with the seat upright but fully back, how much room there is between the back of the front seat and the front of the back seat? im 206cm, and i want a skyline... just havent had time to goto a car dealer... thanks
  17. the gear unit doesnt fit in the hole... and doesnt the determined speed come from the diff? as it doesnt allow the wheels to turn as fast as a skyline diff? my diff is 3.45 skyline is like 4.3 isnt it?
  18. hi all got a rb20det in a vl and as you all would know the speedo is out. is there any device that can be connected to the speed sender unit on the gearbox that will convert the speed to what it should be? thanks
  19. hi all got a noob question for you all how do you drive a turbo car? do you downshift when stopping? downshift to 2nd gear around corners? in my gfs car (nissan micra) i can hear when to change gears and just feel it... ive never been in a turbo'd car before, and am not really sure on how to do it... so if anyone can give me a rundown on how they drive it would help thanks
  20. fixed the problem!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! fuel filter was the culprit! went down to supercheap, got a fuel filter, put it on, let the car warm up and pressurize, gave her a few bursts of the throttle and didnt hear any stutters or anything... took her down the street and wow... ive never driven a turbo car before, but with a 2.5" exhaust and fmic, its so noisy... thanks everyone for your help
  21. i guess i might have to buy a s-afc from jaycar... they fit in my budget.. haha because idle is a little rough but very rich, and it leans out fairly early when driving... maybe exhaust sensor?
