warpz0r replied to warpz0r's topic in General Automotive Discussion
no, the cars were just an example... what is a early model can and what is a late model car is what i was after -
what is an early model car and what is a late model car? is a late model car a 95 r33 skyline and a early model is a 91 r32 skyline?

so how do you move the cam into the right position for when you fire it up for the first time? because you have to have all the dots / markings line up
-

i think, if im reading the Nissan fast software correctly, its part number 13058
-
i snapped it replacing the cams... not from driving it... want to do it all myself as a learning experience...

this is the cam bracket that holds the actual cam down... its one of the bolts that holds down the exhaust cam bracket
-
yeah, but if i drill it out, wont there still be some of the old bolt left in there? and also, i could damage some of the tread the bolt would attach it self to.... atleast if i use a easy out tool, i just have to drill a small hole into the broken bolt, then easy it out.... its about 1.5cm into the head, so might be a little tricky
-
yeah, thats similar to the thing i got from bunnings the other day.. havent used it yet... either way, i am f**ked... i have to either drill and re-thread the hole and use a bigger bolt, or try using an easy out.... but the main question is Does anyone have a spare cam bracket bolt i can purchase off them, or a part number for nissan... (or will they only sell me a pack of more than 1?)
-
i was tightning them with 1 hand until it was firm and then pop..... i thought the valve or whatever it was called was going down but no, the bolt broke.... anyone have a spare bolt for the cam brackets? or will nissan charge me like $94.86 for 14 of them i dont need?
-
hi all installing the cams today i snapped one of the bolts that hold the bracket down.... has anyone got a spare one ? and to get the snapped bolt out i need something called an easy out? e-z-out? where can i buy that? thanks
-
or can i just put in some non vvt cams into it without any other modifications?
