  1. I've PM'd Anthony many days ago, but no reply...can someone let him know he's got a PM waiting for him?
  2. May I invite a certain silver NSW Skyline, if its ready to race?
  3. Hiya all! I'm old, so my friends, staff, and family keep reminding me, and have been around the motoring thing for a while now. I've done most every mag' that has arrived, but there have only ever been a few that have kept my attention for longer than an issue or two. EVO (U.K. mag'), High Performance Imports and Zoom (naturally...), & RAPID (two wheels) are the only ones I'll religiously read. I liked SPEED when it was around, too. There is a new player on the newsagents stands that I think, IMHO, is worth your time and hard earned to check out. Tarmac Do yourself a favour. Pick it up, and give it a whirl; I reckon any red blooded motoring enthusiast will love it (or at least like it very much)! They've got a cool website, too: www.tarmac-mag.com.au . Just thought I'd put it out there to you in SAU land! Jayce
  4. Wow; 88 views and only one reply(thanks Alan!). Either people have gone out and looked at the mag', and not thought any further - unlikely, I believe - or they're too busy reading to reply on here! I've got nothing to do with the publication; I just thought it was a breath of fast, competitive fresh air that I wanted to share with my fellow SAU'ers! Check out the website, too. There's a bunch of very cool clips. The 94 Manx SS7 rally footage is awesome, amongst others.
  5. Just to dig up an old thread, I thought I'd post up an interesting observation... I usually ride past ESP at all times of the day and night, every day of the week, depending on my work and training roster. I constantly see Supras, Rexxies, HSV's, FPV's, big-dollar-turbo'd-this'n'that and plenty more exotica...but very few Skylines. What gives? Glen & Daniel know what they're doing, and they have the runs on the board when it comes to workshop & dyno. So why the noticable lack of Skylines at ESP? I know of a few other workshops in the ACT area that do good work, but they don't have the monopoly on that tag...Not to steer anyone who is loyal and happy away from their fave' workshop, but I think we're missing out... When (and NOT 'if') my GT-R is done, guess where it will be getting it's run in and dyno tune done? Those that know me know also how fussy I can be. So....

  7. A quick 'Thankyou!' to 33Sedan for helping me out with much reading goodness!!
  8. Smart a*se! Yes, she does seem an urban myth, and will continue to be so until I either win Lotto or get up the guts to hold up a bank...
  9. Ditto, but there are subtle differences if you look long enough. As I'm so rusty on two wheels, having to spend a few days belting around EC to reset my lines, on two or four wheels, wont be too much of a stretch!!
  10. THE NEW EASTERN CREEK? A New 4.7km Circuit May Be Coming Our Way Recently, Eastern Creek announced their $350,000 study on how to upgrade the circuit in anticipation of Oran Park closing down. Circuit Club were there to witness it, and now they are bringing you the story and the photos – first. The Circuit will be: · 1.8km longer · 6 different circuit layouts · 3 layouts used simultaneously · Running in the opposite direction Clicky da linky for more! http://wp.circuitclub.com.au/
  11. An observation. The words "fuel", "economy" and "Nissan GT-R" should never be used in the same sentence...unless associated with the word "crap". I have a fuel miser car for everything else, I have a GT-R for driving in the truer sense of the word!
  12. Interesting...the boss is about to switch everything over to 'the big O', and thus far we've already had a few glitches. Looks like it could be a struggle. That said, T'stra has farked us over for long enough...
  13. Um, no. This is a gen-you-whine 400R (one of only a few 33's I would own!): Gorgeous, and VERY limited supply! The only four door GT-R spec' cars were made under licence by Autech, as someone earlier pointed out. Specific, Autech only, parts(such as the rear quarters) single these cars out. Absoultely freaking gorgeous, IMHO. I would LOVE an Autech 33 four door; one of the best 'sleepers' I could want(OK, an RS6 is up there, too). Autech have turned out many, MANY uprated versions of other Nissans, but the 260RS and the four door series are easily my faves. Do a Google image search for 'Autech' and be suprised... Here's an Autech R33 sedan, such as Shell had pictured earlier: And their R34 version(decidedly sexy, yes?)
  14. To me, this is not just music to my ears, but a huge compliment! Nissan Skyline for life! Need proof? Ask me about an ages old tattoo I have... Welcome back, Gus! And the CF thing will be further researched in days to come; stay tuned!
  15. Now we're talking! When F. M. kicks in a suggestion, I'll be listening! Ta!
  16. Some of you know that I'm married to a rather understanding lady that shares my passion for things with wheels. She knows of my late night meetings with "the other woman", the one with the big, red R on her hind quarters. With the death of my favorite money tree(I blame the drought), the 32 has slowed in it's overhaul plans. So, I've been flirting with an old flame... Carbon Fibre. Black gold. The über strength to weight material. Oh, how I love thee! My car has some select parts made of my favorite composite, but I want more. MORE! This material fascinates me so much, I'm ready to tale the next step. So, I'm putting it out to you all: I want to learn how to make Carbon Fibre. I don't want to read web pages, I want hands on with someone who's done it before. Who knows someone? A course I might take? Experience counts, people! I'm listening! PM's accepted as well...
  17. here's one for you all: I've spotted a white R33 GTS-T, atmo BOV, boosting. This would not normally be a big deal, except this 'spotted' was in the main street of Lightning Ridge. www.whereis.com.au - check out where I am, and know that a Skyline here is like a stripper at a Seventh Day Adventist gig...
  18. I'll swap ya!! LOL!! Where are you at da mo'?
  19. Thought I'd fire this thread up again. Freaking cold weather that is only good for boost...IF you have a car running that you can boost! Jesus H. Christ I miss my GT-R...
  20. P.S. Before the spelling bee Nazis nail me, it's 'wrecked' not 'recked'.... My bad! LOL!
  21. Unfortunately, I'm someone that has been around for ages, and have had mostly good things happen when it comes to car clubs. However, every clubs seems to have rogue members, and periods where everything comes off the rails. Rexnet, Canberra Cruisers, Nissan Silvia.com, RS Liberty, RE ACT ,and even us here at SAU plus many more clubs have had moments of less than perfect judgement. I have had good dealings with the NS.com crew(I was having good chats with three of the lads whilst standing next to the R35 on Friday night; one was a NS.com member who had just had their car towed for second offence on burnouts... but he seemed remorseful enough). Hell knows I'm not a perfect angel. You ask for examples of when and where NS members have wrecked it for me or SAU? I can't talk for SAU, only myself, but without bringing up old issues, and I'm NOT getting into the 'us vs. them' debate, how's January 2002 Braddon, October and December 2003 Northbourne Ave, Feb' 04, London Circuit, July 06 Kingston....and the memories go on. Please note this isn't a website upsetting me; only some of its members. Does that answer your question? A straight yes or no will suffice. You've been around SAU since at least 2005; you'll appreciated my views weren't formed overnight. Also remember that if it's not on the internet, things do occur. There are a few more times that come to mind, but I would rather remember the good cruises and shows I've done with all of the guys over the years. I guess, in hindsight, my comment may've come off as a little bit biased or even petty. It wasn't intended as such, so apologies to the NS.com crew that may feel hard done by. I stand by my experiences, and can only think I should've added all possible clubs into my statement to keep the mix appropriate. Thankyou for your question. Shall we all move on and get back to Skyline discussion? Now, back to the problem at hand of finding somewhere more appropriate for SAU to gather without being harassed... The H.N. idea sounds a good 'un. Anyone else got some ideas? I thought I had a good place worked out, but after having a good look on Friday morning, it's a thumbs down for too many reasons. So, we're back to square one. Locations, people?
  22. It's even nicer inside...Sorry for the av' photo; as best I could get with the phote I had! It was interesting how many people missed one of Nissans' greatest, being the amazing black NuR Spec, sitting right there in front of the 35. I'm probably biased towards the 34, as good as the newie is. There was much interest from all types, old and young, male and female, in the new supercar. Talking with the drivers, there was much to like about the new car! There was an interesting part in the boot that wasn't to do with the R35, but that's another story for later...
  23. Maybe, just maybe, you will see it again...SOON...*wink wink*
  24. Did anyone recce' H.N.'s at Fyshwick for night time meeting point? Fully agree that driveway entry needs to be handled with great care... But a 'wide angle' to get in or out at night in Fyshwick ( stop it right now, those with dirty minds...) wont be a prob' as there's minimal traffic.... Any other ideas for a new location? PM me if there is a goer: wouldn't want NS.com or the Commonwhore crew to find out and reck it for us again...
  25. I'm a dawn service guy through and through; of course me & E are there! For those that haven't done a dawn service, do yourself a favour. We all take this country for granted a little too much, and my family has fought for it in wars past. So, suck it up for one day in the year (Mick may be excuses...he REALLY isn't a morning person and SHOULD attend the 10 a.m. service instead); see you there. Or not, as it will be DARK. I say we gather afterwards at Green Square, Kingston, for some brekky...
