  1. mmmmm, typing fights. They always end. that’s it As for car stuff. I have been away for a while and the car sat all by herself with nobody to love her. Good news is she didn't leak and after getting a new battery she started first time. As for the issue of the rattle well after I had a wheel alignment and brake overhaul the noise disappeared. Go figure. I have also since chased down many of my electrical problems to a dud computer. I got the diagnostic sheet off the internet and ran over the outputs on the ECU and found that many of them don’t add up, including the signal out for one of the injectors, could explain why she was running a little rough. So I began the ring around and found that I can get the computer out of an R33 Rb25 for $50, but a computer out of an R34 (Rb25 NEO) will cost me $750 nice huh. Here is where you guys come in. Has anybody used SLIDEWIZE imports before? If so what did you think of them? I had a look at the Yahoo auctions page and found computers for like 1,500 yen (which is like $15 ozzy) so they seem like the best option at this point. Thanks guys
  2. Not sure if any one cares but, I have done the RB25 conversion and had an engineers certificate done in QLD which has since been ratified in NSW. The writing I read indicate I did not need any furhter engineering paperwork because the new engine was less than a 10% increase in capacity of the original and yes the blue slip was completed "legitimately". I told my insurance company and the only thing they did was increase my premium by $100.
  3. Bump, I was hoping to do this before work started again. I'm bored and this sounds like a good project.
  4. I do have a question for all those out there that have done an RBXX conversion, What arrangements have you made for a tacho. I remember quite a while ago that someone was attempting to connect the R30 factory one to the RB signal. Did this ever work? Thanks
  5. Just wondering if there were any parts left? I'm interested in the diff. Thanks
  6. Being that this topic has been running for a while now. Can some one please post some pictures. The conversation has left me a little confused? Thanks Guys
  7. Guys, Sorry its taken me 6 months to respond. I've been away. However here are some pics of my Rb25 neo in a 4 door 1984 MR30. Some things i should point out. Engine Mounts - I got mine off a VL commodore. One is longer than the other. Engine seems to sit upright though. Radiator - The RB series motors have both water inlet and outlet on the same side. Requires a custom hose, or custom radiator. Electrics - Some things will not match up. Rev meter for one, and temp sensor is a little off range. (when your guage hits C it means you need to pull over) Knock at low RPM - Still have not figured this out out. Going to put it up on ramps and check out all the angles this week. Power Steering - I had a chat with a mechanic during the week about the power steering because I still have the power steering pump off the R34 front cut, he seems to think that if you make up the pipes to the MR30 power steering assy, and hook up the resevoir, it will work. Its just a matter of adjusting the screw on the back of the pump to suit the MR30. if its to light turn the screw out, vice versa (it has to be better than nothing) There are a few other little things as well like relay wiring for the radiator fan, and why the warning lights on my dash still come on. But its just a matter of spending some time with the wiring diagram. If you guys want any more pics just let me know, I promise it wont take six months this time
  8. Hey Guys, Sorry i didn't get on this earlier. Doing the pedal box took a whole weekend for me and stripped a great deal of skin off my hands. It can be done and it is not that hard (looking back on it). I'll take some pictures and get back to you all.
  9. HELP, The conversion is finished and I've had the car out for a couple of test rides, and everything was going well untill, I put the stick in first let out the clutch and heard a rattle and clunking noise coming from the rear of the gearbox (front of the tail shaft) but, it only happens betweem 800 - 1500 rpms then everything is fine. What is this???? I thought the angle of the tail shaft was off so i put some spacers in the middle hanger, but got nothing. does anyone have any ideas.
  10. Hey, I've done the conversion. I put an RB25 NEO motor into a 1985 MR30. Mounts - I used the mounts out of a VL commodore. Fitted perfectly. Electrics - I sent mine out to a shop in sydney who did a plug and play mod (which worked Perfectly) Tranny xmbr - Needed a bit of a cut and tuck. Tailshaft - Also needs a little bit a mod.
  11. Well, I got a power steering reservior off an R31 and I made some new pipes at work. Then had some new fittings made up so as soon as im finished painting I'll be able to drive away with power steering. Other quick question, did the bushes in the front come as a set or did you have to order them all separatley?. and from memory i think the engine came out of a Four door R34 25GT-X.
  12. I have the RB25NEO in place. The rear is back together and now I'm looking at replacing all the bushes in the front end. I did noticed there was some discussion about alternative steering solutions, did somebody actually figure anything out? If not. What is the car like to drive without powersteering?
  13. History Question........ While searching for some parts at my local wreckers this morning. I came across a green skyline. Its had Datsun Skyline badges on it, and looked like a C10. My question is what model is it?
  14. I got the arm off another car it was for disc brake conversion. I got the nuts off the stub axle's. The problem i have now is I cant get fitting apart to get to the bearings. I really need a picture to see how the thing is suppose to come apart.
  15. ghostrider, i'd love to join the growing list of people who want in. Just want to know if there is enough to go around.
