  1. wait so let me get this right. we're all ricers & you enjoy spending your free time browsing the N/A section to have a laugh? & considering you have over 31,000 posts, you must do this a lot? you sir, are a douche. that sounds like some pretty decent prices is that for press bends or mandrel bends? metal cats will usually flow better, can handle higher temperatures & will last longer. also a lower cell eg. 100 cell. theres probably more to it than that but that's what i know/have hear haha
  2. thanks mate !! i'd go magnaflow over lukey, lukey seems to be targetted more at commodores/falcons than imports. on my old VS calais, it came with a full lukey exhaust (extractors too) had a nice note but was very quiet :S
  3. thanks mate !! i'd go magnaflow over lukey, lukey seems to be targetted more at commodores/falcons than imports. on my old VS calais, it came with a full lukey exhaust (extractors too) had a nice note but was very quiet :S
  4. haha gotta pay top dollar for top quality !! have a look at the work emotion series, still good quality & a fair bit cheaper than meisters. just got myself a set of 18" XD9's which go on tomorrow !
  5. so here it is, the video i always said i'd make hahaha its shitty iphone quality but it'll do
  6. so finally got around to getting the video haha I'll get around to uploading it some time this week !
  7. haha ive never had a kebab from footscray, but I'm just gonna go ahead & say yes, THAT'S how good mitcham is potential n/a skyline cruise finishing up at mitcham kebabs ? lol
  8. hahaha yeah dude, looooove mitcham kebabs so damn good haha if you see me there again come have a chat pal !
  9. hahaha yeah thats me, how the shit did you work that out ? :S
  10. lol so many varex haters around. they actually sound good imo, and like you said when you posted this exact post in another exhaust thread - you've never had one..... if i ran no centre muffler and a rear muffler of a brand you suggested, then i'd have a similar loudness to what i have with the varex open, the reason i and everyone buy a varex is so you do have the ability to switch the thing off. i know you're just giving you're opinion but if you've never used the product why hate on it? tin can with preforated tube and a "flappy valve thing" ? come on pal, ease up ! i've been meaning to get a vid up but never gotten round to it haha so ill try my best to get it done before i go away, will be iphone4 quality though !
  11. hey buddy did you end up find out what was wrong? i have the same issues and obviously this being an old thread im hoping you worked it out !
  12. magnaflow mate, not sure who else makes that size muffler for a decent price
  13. i got mine through the guy who did the system for me, pretty much go to any exhaust or auto shop that deals in xforce and they will be able to get it for you. don't buy off ebay because then you're not covered by warranty in case something should go wrong !
  14. hey mate ive got the exact system you're after haha 2.5inch cat back 8"x4" centre mufler (its the biggest they could fit) twin tip varex. it's awesome dude, when its open it sounds sweet, its loud but not so loud that you're going to be heard 10 blocks away and when it's closed it's dead silent don't make the mistake i did and not get a centre muffler, it was the most disgustingly loud exhaust, not to mention it sounded like absolute sh*t haha if you go somewhere and they tell you there is "not enough room for a centre muffler, only a hot dog" go somewhere else, coz there definately is ! mines made of mild steel and is mandrel bent (press bent is sh*thouse) and cost me 1200 all up including wiring of the varex. hope that helps pal ps. in regards to what r34mac said about the right tip getting more build up of crap, this was true on the older versions where the valve was situated behind the right tip, now its smack bang in the middle so don't have to worry about this problem, also the remotes are a bit better than they used to be too
  15. haha no kidding, so much road presence !
  16. i saw that on burwood highway !!! red one yeah? i wont lie, im pretty much the sebastien vettel of peak hour traffic driving !! bahahahahahahaha
  17. hahaha in the peak hour traffic? could be a bit interesting more like, first one to hoddle with the least damage wins ! but no fair, i have no turbo lol
  18. that would have been me !
  19. I'll try and get a vid up sometime this week to be honest it felt like ass without the centre muffler, sluggish down low, not much mid range, better right at the end of the rev range though. with the centre muffler it feels a lot more responsive the whole way through and a meatier mid range - the good stuff
  20. Haha so true, i honestly was embarassed to drive it when it sounded like that - quality mufflers = quality sound !
  21. Hey guys, Been on SAU for a while but never had much to contribute until now ! Im guesing majority of us N/A-ers are P-platers so we're pretty restricted when it comes to mods plus the fact that it really isnt worth the money on an N/A. But if you're like me, im guessing you want a pretty sweet sounding car while on your Pull me over plates Did a bit of research when i was looking at what kind of exhaust to go with, pretty much came to the conclusion that headers/extractors are a waste of money when ill be buying a turbo as soon as i get off my P's. For the gains received it really isn't that worth it for the money. So my decision was to just go with a cat back. Due to the fact i work in the city and have bitchy neighbours, decided to go with a varex rear muffler - keeps the neighbours happy and i don't have to listen to a constant "boaaaaaarrr" every morning at 7am on the freeway ! I chose the twin tip oval muffler - mainly for stealth reasons. plus i preferred the sound of the oval muffler over the cannon anyway I got my work done at "Kreative Exhaust" in Rowville, who i highly recommend, could have gotten cheaper elsewhere but the quality of work is just awesome ! When i picked my car up i'd had 2.5" mild steel mandrel bent piping made up from the cat going into the varex - no centre muffler. biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig mistake, if you want your RB to sound like a commodore then by all means go ahead and remove the centre muffler ! when the varex was open the thing had the ugliest scream on it, raspy/crackly - just disgusting haha with the valve closed it was droney but quiet enough (thank god) for me to drive around for a week until i could get it fixed ! a week later i had Richard at Kreative Exhaust fit a centre muffler, the plan was to fit the biggest possible muffler, and seeing as the r34 has the same floor plan as an s15, Richard told me he may only be able to fit a hot dog because of the lack of space. In the end he managed to fit a small 8" x 4" straight through centre muffler Now it has the sweet RB note coming through with the varex open, no raspiness and the perfect volume. on closed its quieter than stock. All up it cost me $500 for the varex, $600 for the rest of the exhaust to be custom made, mig welded and the varex wired up & another $145 to have a centre muffler fitted. In regards to power gains, hard to tell, but the car feels a lot more responsive than stock. So if you're looking for an exhaust system and can't decide on what to go with - i hope this helps. Believe me this set-up sounds awesome !
  22. hey mate, i ordered some of the clear ones off those guys and i should get them either tuesday/wednesday, ill let you know how they go, sometimes ebay is just the easiest option haha plus these ones come with a 1 year warranty
  23. ive got a 98 r34 25gt 2dr and i have xenons? oh and to the guy who started this, im a p-plater too, dont worry about how quick it is, coz your gonna get smoked by any commodore or falcon VY/BA up, plus, your on your P's have the mentality of "all show and no go" make the thing look nuts and no-one will care how quick it is! must say tho, i went from driving a holden VS calais to the 34 (which i picked up last weekend) and it does feel quicker, and its stock as a rock. probably just from being so used to auto then going to manual. but then again the calais had full lukey exhaust including extractors, was a beast haha
