  1. Yeah those cars sell more in Europe, Mustang is all 'Murican yee hawww. Bit too expensive though, better off with a WRX :P.

Saw a wrx in showroom recently. Great value for money, will consider closely when my focus ST is due for replacement.

Also noticed the turbo 2 litre they use in the WRX is the same base NA engine that is in the BRZ/86. Now they've strapped a turbo to that engine, I reckon the turbo will soon turn up in the BRZ (son of rajab help us).

  2. My boss got one of the first ones into the country (his wife works at a dealership).

Personally I like them. Bit 'kitsch' but cool too. Design seems to be completely different to focus/mondeo/fiesta school of thought.

I don't even mind the 4cylinder variant. Not far off v8 performance.

It's aching for an exhaust and fiddle with turbos. Reckon it'd make a good drift car. Can imagine a red bull logo on one.

  3. Hate to predict a marriage of something boring to make them lots of money... Like lancer + pulsar common platform.

Maybe It will enable them to do something innovative with hybrid or battery tech?

I just hope it prolongs / revitalises the EVO heritage. Shitsubishi needs a hero car. God help them for releasing the new Pajero. So ugly. MUST have been designed for the Asian markets.

  4. I had pickup blocked from powder coat on rocker covers ( no it wasn't my doing). Killed the engine.

Paint shouldn't be a problem, but if you have flakes - remove rocker covers, Clean it asap and get camera in sump to look at pickup.

I cleaned the pickup twice and it still ended up starving the bottom end of the block.

  5. If you're considering Megane 265, then also look at the focus ST which has 4 doors. The torque steer is annoying in the ST & a tad more space would be desirable. Can be purchased for low $20's.

I also have an mx5 and r33 GTST. There's a simple pleasure in thrashing the crap out of the mx5 and not having anything to fix after a day out, as opposed to the GTST which always needs maintenance. It's not as quick, but it is fun.

I regret selling my previous r32 GTR. it has a nostalgic value that I really miss & they are appreciating in value.

Here's another thought... What about a turbo ford sedan, do some cheap mods and daily/track it? Not as cool as an EVO or STI, but Parts are cheap and a good suspension setup with tyres will go a long way. Use the GTR as a backup if the daily is laid up.
