Hehehehe nah I can see what your getting at man and I agree thats underpar for a 3040 just having a stir, and trying to make ppl see that just coz they are slightly older doesnt mean you can write them off completely. For the price and specs, they do a damn good job at delivering the goods and im very happy with mine

How is it a poor example graph if its an almost identical setup, the same dyno and two comparable turbo's to those in question ? Secondly... If its not about making numbers, than whats your issue with it making 240rwkw @ 5800rpm ? That should mean nothing to you, its all about power delivery isnt it ? The graph above shows the td06 makes approximately 80kw further peak power output, a quicker peak boost mark by approximately 1000rpm (taking into account your claims of excessive lag) and the boost is held more constant through the rev range and fades less and more gradually from the trust turbo even though the Garrett item is running more boost. Regardless of lag.... the garrett turbo has peaked its power output and the graph has started to flatten out before the td06 has even peaked yet. Reduce the size of the exhaust housing to combat this monster lag that is unacceptable in your opinion. Thus reducing the peak output of the turbo, ur even further behind, might spool quicker, but now your (lets say for arguements sake) 100kw down on the trust turbo due to the garrett no longer having the room to deal with the exhaust gases required to pull bigger numbers. Throw a good set of rubber underneath that and deal with the wheelspin coz the benefits are clear in my opinion Snappy VS Crappy...

*looks through the thread a second time to make sure he didnt miss it* Don't you hate it when shit comes back to bite you on the ass

I run a td06-25g on a 25det... make similar power (little more) than that shown in the above dyno graphs and swear by these turbos. Also ran one (smaller trim) on my old SR20 - 180sx and have never had a problem. As for ppl saying they are old hat and non responsive, I beg to differ, I make enough boost to REALLY throw you back in the seat by 3,800rpm which only increases through the rev range. Have lined up a few cars with similar trim/specs + comparable garrett turbo's and left them wanting on more than one occasion and thats with a cracked turbo manifold and a less than flattering tune Its easy to jump on the "new technology must be better" bandwagon... but as they say, if it aint broke, then why fix it and I reckon Trust are onto a winning recipe with these turbo's personally. /2cents

What if it does (nearly) and we are still haters ? picsorSTFU EDIT: Sorry if that sounds cold, but man can you blame us from the vagueness of the info given, the construction of the initial post, the failure to forward any concrete evidence, supporting information etc. Not to mention the skepticism over your choice of rods, by myself and others. Props to you if your the real deal, just way too many dickheads around to believe shit like this off the cuff... back it up, or shut it up, thats what i reckon.

a) A long time. b) An even longer time. c) Old design. d) Garret T51r, Garrett GT45R etc... They are expensive, and unless you have the right engine and setup to back them up, they are useless... so don't even dream about it.

WORD TO THAT !!! Had the San Choi Bow there and nearly creamed myself... its awesome, specially if your a lover of traditional thai food like me Bring on the Green Curries.

If it just needs a basic service, and you're not too keen on trusting a workshop to do it. Why not have a go yourself, I mean with basic mechanical knowledge a socket set n some spanners you can breeze through it yourself. That way you know its been done properly too. Its not real hard to change fluids, filters, plugs, brake pads, bleed the clutch/brake... or change whatever else needs replacing and im sure theres some DIY write ups around If he wants a logbook sorta job done, Ultratune is definitely a good choice, just let them know when you go in if you want anything specific... eg. Good/Certain brand of oil, brake pads, plugs, whatever. Can't really go past them for the price either

If you find anything let me know, have been searching for something that will fit under the skyrice for ages and im in the same boat as you unwilling to spend $500+

R32 Gtr + Mspec Parts + Rims

Sorry guys, all sold except rear bar, and front guards. -
Excuse me if this sounds cynical, I have no problem admitting I am in the 99%... suspension is not my forte` by any means, but how is one to learn without the correct equiptment, tools, advice and experience? You can listen to the pro's, ask questions and read articles as much as possible but unless you get hands on experience, you are NEVER gonna be in the 1% by just resigning yourself to a sub-standard package because at this point in time you don't harbour the knowledge to use them to their full potential. I totally agree with the point you made about people wasting their money however by kidding themselves into thinking they are going to use the extra available functions. However these seem to be evenly priced, and he has intentions of track use, meaning he will probably be surrounded by some people in that 1% that can help him out and teach him a lot. Its just what I would do, coz I like to learn and expand my knowledge as much as possible. You make some perfectly valid arguements though

a) The RB30 came in R31 Skylines and VL Holden Commodores. b) Parts wise, (for the RB30 block) Try searching for a Holden wrecker in Australia that will do international shipping. Im assuming you have read some articles on the conversion and don't need to be pointed in the right direction for guides, and whats involved ? c) The F-Con V should be fine to use in conjunction with your new bottom end. d) Impossible to speculate what your engine will make power + tq wise. Can however say that the 3L bottom end makes monster torque especially down low to get that turbo spooling as fast as possible. http://users.tpg.com.au/cobra30/twincam.htm http://wiki.r31skylineclub.com/index.php?t..._Cam_conversion Theres a couple of articles on how to build one of these puppies, 2nd link contains a pretty good parts breakdown and a orugh budget at the bottom in australian dollars. If you need any more help, post up, Im sure theres plenty of guys a lot more knowledgable than me that could help you out

Hence why I asked the initial question of your intended use... Adjustable Damper Settings becomes particularly handy when you are going to be hitting up the track, it can change the whole feel and handling properties of your car even with minimal adjustment and imo is definitely worth having.

No way of telling other than the TPS & AFM... im running a Vh45 AFM and its too dark to see the TPS ahahah but i got teh engine number written down, hoping I could tell by that ah well if not ill be digging round the engine bay tomorrow.

Righto, can someone please enlighten me as to what the differences are between series 1 and series 2 RB25's other than different coil packs Also is there a way to easily identify which version you have via engine number or some other feature? Cheers.

Are the airfilters the full part, or just the elements/inserts ? Might go measure mine up if its the inserts only, but very interested, please let me know. If you got pics, would be great too cheers

Depends on how serious you are about your setup. Is it for street, drift, circuit use etc ? Height and Camber are usually the main things people worry about in a street/occasional track car. If your looking at seriously getting into some circuit work, then yeah id grab a set with adjustable dampener settings. Having said that, you say they are both the same price... why not just grab the ones with adjustable dampener to give you the option in the future, even if you dont use it to begin with. Of course its worth it if its free
