Hey guys, I have this theory which I base my car around: That in the long run with a decent budget on the car, an R32 GTS-T will be faster around the track than it's flagship brother; the R32 GTR (assuming both with the same RB26 engine). This is because of these factors: - GTS-T is lighter and better front to rear weight balance. - With modifications the GTS-T will be further lighter. - The R32 GTR has the most understeer and eliminating that will provide more potential. - GTS-T will have faster turn in from lighter front. - An AWD system is only used for additional traction so if aero parts are in and modified correctly then the extra weight of AWD is not needed. - R32 AWD system too primitive. - More fun around the track. - Cheaper. There is a reason all the JGTC and GT class Skylines are all RWD, I'm sure it's from the fact that from long term modification, the AWD system is no longer needed. If you look at the statistics, the GTS-T is already 110kg lighter than the GTR (standard eninges), and whatever you can do to the GTR you can do to the GTS-T. Now before anyone starts flaming, I'm not hating on the GTRs but I dare you guys to prove me wrong on this.   5. Don't the VZ Commos have the 3.8L engine? The BMW 330i for sure has 170kW from factory. 4AGE black top? Is this the 100kW one? Anything in the 1000kg chassis is deadly, but I wouldn't imagine them to be lightning fast.
  6. From experience NA Skylines can beat VZ executives and keep up with BMW 330i's (convertible). As for these high end Hondas, don't even think about it lol.

  12. Yeah it was a rhetorical question to Kinks. My understanding of upgraded cams is that they definitely do push the powerband higher in the rev range (assuming your engine can support it), but because it's higher RPM it = higher power. Now it would be stupid to compare our engines with that of competition race cars especially F1 (especially a DE). These engines are tuned to be on the edge of it's limits. The point was if we could squeeze an extra few kW out of a higher RPM as it feels as though there are about 500RPM - 1000RPMs of extra power left with intake and exhaust mods. I think summary = dyno time.
  13. That's probably one of the worse replied to this thread lol. Why do NA racecars or any racecar for that matter want to rev higher then? Yeah seems like no point as power drops before redline anyways. In saying that it would sound awesome with an extra 1k RPM lol.

  15. As title says, how high can a stock RB25DE rev up to effectively? Being an RB motor i'm expecting the normal 7000RPM to be a 'safe' redline for the internals. Would there even be any point in increasing the redline as the internal components for example camshafts, valves, crank shafts, etc might not support any higher than 7000RPM, and drop the power afterwards instead of increase? As horsepower = (RPM x torque) / 5252, I'm weighing up the benefits of removing the rev/speed limiter. Many thanks.

  17. Not very descriptive Not bad for NA though. Tyre squeal sounds loud. Did it feel like the mid range torque dropped with the cat out? Or improvement? Would also be interested in NA cruise lol. Buzzboxes roaming the streets. Also if you do plan on going to the Footscray one, don't go at night as that place isn't really ideal to go late if you know what I mean lol. It'll be across the Commonwealth Bank incase I'm not there.
  18. WHAT THE FUUUUUU!!! That's like buying another GTS-T... What about fish oil or rust dissolver? Would they work? I think rust is one of the most underrated problems with Skylines.
  19. And how much does it cost to remove?? For example a rear quarter. Do those electromagnetic rust preventers you strap to the car to prevent/stop rust work?
  20. Wow, catless NA making flames? Cool. Sounds good. How does the car feel with and without a cat? I'm assuming after a 3", catless would provide even less 'backpressure'. Ta. Also are the kebabs in Mitcham as good as the Footscray Kebab House ones?
