  1. Hey dewd, how do their super white lights stack up against Philips Blue Vision? Ta.
  2. Took another measurement last week. 10.16L/100km 544.5km from 55.34L Don't know why other NAs get worse. I do plenty of city driving. I'm still running R32 GTS-T O2 sensor on NA R33 engine. 0w40 Castrol. Roughly 0.4 drag coefficient.
  3. Well cars actually do have a trick or 2 up their sleeves for better aerodynamics. It's called vortex generators / fins. You will mainly find them on Evos and WRXs (mainly evos). They look something like this (but not limited to): http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/images/...exGenerator.jpg This basically alleviates some of the air turbulance / air suction at the back of the car, stabilizing it and giving slightly better drag. The other thing is rear diffusers. I'm sure you know this one. Also Galois, that 'wind tunnel' video wasn't much lol, only showed the effect of the rear air turbulance. The underbody of the car plays a major part in fluid dynamics too. Reading your posts, you should have no problem understanding that as you're from an engineering / science background.
  4. Yeah I guess there are many factors (a given). However I recall reading an article quite a while ago on autospeed.com saying that one way to measure the effectiveness of your drag is to go on the same stretch of road, same weather, conditions etc etc and accelerate to ~140km/h and let go of the accelerator, then time how long it takes to drop back down to 100km/h. This only works for the same car, but my old Subaru (newer actually, 2004) had basically the same gear ratios and roughly same weight, added AWD, and still noticeably would drop down slower from 140km/h if i ever tested it. I know cause there is a point on the freeway where I always coast, that had larger and heavier wheels than stock, compared to stock 16" GTS-T rims and tyres.
  5. Does anyone know if they make the RM version for R32s?
  6. Stupid biatch last week down Jackson's Road Mulgrave at night. Looked like P plater in Holden Barina. Door not closed properly, so interior light was shining on her holding a mobile phone on her ear talking, while she proceeds to weave, tailgate, and overtake people at 80km/h in a 60km/h zone with her friend next to her. Not the worst but definately one of the stupidest.
  7. 3" will sacrafice bottom end for top end 2.5" is an even spread of torque but not as powerful as 3" Both are loud as f$%# unless it's oval.
  8. The mainly noticable differences are on the freeway and downhills. The moment you let go of the accelerator, the car starts slowing down where as other cars start coasting or even roll faster. I'm not saying it like it's running on 3 wheels, but as the air drag increases as a square of speed, it exponentially increases the resistance and feel at higher speeds. That is where we have the disadvantage compared to other cars or similar class.
  9. lol Dewds, I can pick out a lot of cars made around 1992 for a lot less Cd (eg. RX-7, Supra as mentioned, Civic, 180SX etc). It's just that there seem to be 2 different types of Cd, one for crappy body design, and the other is downforce. Read around and apparently the area of the front has a major role in aerodynamics too. Feels like such a handicap... On the other note, would LOVE to see some wind tunnel testing of an R32 to determine if it's putting the Cd to good use.
  10. Hey guys, just want to start off with some drag coefficient values: Nissan R32 GTR = 0.4 Cd Nissan R33 GTR = 0.35 Cd Nissan R34 GTR = 0.34 Cd Subaru Impreza STi 2004 = 0.33 Cd Nissan Cube = 0.35 Cd A freaken Impreza (peanut/tear drop eye) STi with it's massive scoop, 4 doors, bulky appearance is better than the aerodynamics of the R32, despite the sleek look. I feel that on the freeway i gotta give it a bit more gas than my previous Impreza because of the drag is creates. Is the aerodynamics a big issue for anybody else? How important is this in motorsport/track days? Just feel that the R32 has so much more potential if it were more aerodynamic.
  11. Some things you can't get back from insurance. For example some mods/parts that were broken in the accident but not insured. And time.
  12. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Bc...rs-t319277.html
  13. My god that would suck, i have empathy for you. Would talk to the assholes directly and get them to pay back every cent you spent on it.
  14. Pretty expensive for a speed adjuster mate..
  15. A lot of track R32s on this forum from what i've read like a suede dished steering wheel. Not too sure on diameter but they were rather smallish. There was one from Just Jap http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...=283&page=1. I'd also be interested in the suggestions.
  16. Well the idiots are gonna be hiding under a rock for god knows how long now.
  17. My god i jizzed x999. That makes it the fastest production according to http://www.fastestlaps.com/track2.html
