  1. Hahahaha, keeping up the public relations is always a good idea Rob. On a slightly different tangent, is there official memberships for SAU and/or SAU-VIC. As I haven't been active on the forums for a while, I remember something mentioned about SAU/CAMS affiliation... Guaging from the turn-out, it's definately looking to be one of the best cruise clubs in VIC, and I can't wait to get involved!
  2. Yeah, careful with the speeding, that's why I wasn't able to make the cruise, got a 12mnth suspension doing those kind of speeds in excess of the limit. Then again, I guess it's not illegal if you didn't get caught! ;p
  3. I'm annoyed I couldn't make this cruise (or any cruises in the near future), cause it looked like it was a good turnout and plenty of fun. Think I might whore a ride for the next cruise if possible (suspended license) *hint*, as it looks like it was a well organised run. I wouldn't mind organising another one, or at least helping organising one, as I've got a few nice ideas if anyone's interested. However I reckon the weather in Melbourne is going to be fairly crappy over the next few months, although it can be more fun/dangerous in the wet ;p
  4. I used to have 215s on the back, and 205s on the front, possibly 50 series profile. Since then I've replaced them with 225/55s all round, haven't noticed the flex a huge amount, but it's still noticable on hard cornering, might've been better off with 215s on the front methinks. I'm just curious to see how they wear, as there's a slight buldge in the sidewall even with the right tyre pressure.
  5. Drop me a PM if you get any more Turbo Timers
  6. Is it all mandrel bent? If so and you've still got it in about a months time, I'll be interested in the whole lot!!!
  7. Self explainitory, needs to be hicas compatible and suitable for either sparco or momo steering wheels. If you have one of these you want to liberate, please PM.
  8. My cousin has agreed to make up some boots for my R32, probably next week sometime when we both get the time, I'll post pics (before/after) if anyone's interested, and also let him know if anyone else would like some, depending on interest he might agree to make some more for all you R32 owners out there ;-)
  9. Just posting this thread/links to generate interest as this is a great deal for some trick looking dash gauges. I've already placed my order, anyone interested should place their "refundable" deposit ASAP to get these from the drawing board into some dashes. Please see discussion in General Automotive Discussion; http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=26217 There's also a thread in group buy section; http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=22366 Sorry about the cross post, but it seems necessary as not many people may be aware of this great deal.
  10. I'm interested in a rear strut for R32 - will need frieght to Melbourne though. Wont be able to purchase for a month though (just had a brake upgrade)
  11. Always buy a car with a RWC, even if it's not roadworthy you can try screwing the mechanic that signed it buy getting them to repair it to save their testing license. I've been stung before by bargaining cars down without RWC, yet having to spend $2k getting a RWC for it myself. It's probably even better to get a RACV check, and better yet, get a mechanic to check the mechanical condition outside roadworthyness, (compression etc) to get a better idea of the engine itself.
  12. Price for standard air filter box?
  13. That's all 6 injectors for $600? Wouldn't happen to fit in a RB20 would they? *smirk*
  14. Leather I hear some of you say? For starters, it'll cost you around $1k just for the hides, these seats aren't easy to upholster either, so you'd really have to decide how long you're keeping the car for. Another thing with leather, if you don't look after it, it's going to look shite after a few years, just look at your shifter/handbrake boots. Leather isn't always more comfortable either, it can get pretty sticky when hot, and it shrinks too! To be honest vinyl or cloth seats are fine, unless you want the status of having leather trim. Oh, did I mention coloured leather isn't cheap? For those of you who like the two tone look. Just a few thoughts for you all.
  15. Funnily enough, I priced a boss kit to suit an R32 with Hicas, and the guy didn't have any in stock, but said they could order in a nismo unit for $380 - surely there must be a more economical boss kit? (ie. cheaper)
  16. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ghlight=indiglo BUMP!
  17. Ooops! Too late! I've just ordered one of these sweet looking dial kits. Now all we need is some more people to put their money where their mouth is, and at least put down a deposit.
  18. I'll be ordering one as soon as there's enough for the group buy, at the latest. Unless I can convince someone to buy it for my birthday this week. *smirk*
  19. I've decided to replace all the bolt on bits first, 3" mandrel bent exhaust from the turbo back + high flow cat, then intercooler and turbo (bleed valve). Bigger fuel pump and pressure regulator to increase potential of stock injectors. Next stage would be a Wolf3Dv4, EBC and bigger injectors when it comes time to run higher boost. Still undecided about the turbo, but I'm leaning towards a GT25 or HKS2530 at the moment, especially after reading bbenny's posts. Would a stock turbo modified for high flow be cheaper and just as suitable? Also, at what point would I expect to replace the AFM, and what would you guys suggest for a replacement? Thanks for all your input so far guys, feeling more confident that I'm headed in the right direction. Also, I haven't really considered an rb26 upgrade, I'd simply save a little extra and buy a GTR ;-)
  20. I know this topic has more than likely been brought up time and time again, however just reading through a few previous threads, there was nothing conclusive about squeezing more from an RB20 on stock internals. Here's the situation; I've already become very used to the power a fairly stock RB20DET can provide (Pod filter/3" cat back), and want to improve on what is obviously already an excellent engine. (No this post is not intended to stir up another flame war) I've set a fairly modest goal to begin with, as such I'd try and keep in mind further upgrades to provide yet more increase in power should the need and/or required budget arise. Initially around 300kw or roughly 200rwkw Any comments, suggestions, and/or past experiences would be greatly appreciated; These are the steps I intend to follow (rough draft) 1. Improving flow; a) 3" exhaust (mandrel) from the turbo, high flow cat B) Custom/Aftermarket intake/exhaust manifolds c) Aftermarket Plennum (?) d) Cam timing and/or replace cams (?) 2. Increase Boost; a) Front mount intercooler B) Upgrade Turbo (Stock RB25 turbo, highflow RB20 -or- something bigger?) c) Boost controller (Potentially via Wolf3D) 3. Tune air/fuel a) Bigger Fuel pump B) Bigger Injectors -or- Fuel pressure regulator? c) Replace with aftermarket ECU -or- remap existing ECU? My initial concern is about what replacement turbo would suit and still allow a good response, and how replacing manifolds and dump pipes would effect my options (would seem a shame to cut and weld nice aftermarket bits) I would also eventually like to upgrade the ECU, Wolf3D is looking a good alternative to the FC at this point, however I'd like to hold this off until completely necessary. Phew - sorry about the length of this post... I'd be interested to know how much power gain to expect and where the best initial improvements can be made - Thanks in advance everyone.
  21. Can't go past Jaycar in terms of bang for buck (wrt Response 4x100w amp) :-)
  22. I just spent a few grand on front end repairs and brake replacement, when will the next shipment arrive?
  23. Stage 3 CAMS license!!! If only I lived in Sydney!!! MRK25T; www.cams.com.au for more information.
