  1. Good news from my mate, he only owned the car for a couple of weeks before the prang, prior to buying it he opted to get an RAA check. RAA check failed to list that the car had adjustable/aftermarket coilovers installed so they agreed to cover the cost of any excess/expenses etc. and to pay for the car to be fully engineered once fixed. Just Cars agreed to reimburse him for the damaged coilover, however he had to get a whole new set as he couldnt find a replacement for just the one, so he was abit out of pocket in the end but wont matter because it will be covered by the RAA.
  2. if you're only after that kind of power it would be much cheaper to go for a hiflow turbo, much better bang for buck and bolts straight up, around the 230 mark give or take you'll have to start playing with injectors/afm/fuel pump. deatchwerks injectors (from what i heard) are good for the money or used Nismos around 540cc should be pleanty if you're not going E85, fuel pump i'd go bosch 040 or 044
  3. 4th gear kept popping out in my car, turned out didn't have enough oil!
  4. Defs go for a turbo mate, you really wont regret it! They're really good bang for buck atm as well, can find cleanish ones around quite cheap. Don't expect much fuel economy even if you drive like an ol' lady, probably round 300kms per tank, give or take. Turbo model has better components, i.e. stronger gearbox, better brakes, 5 stud etc. etc.
  5. Doesnt a buggered AFM have those symptoms?
  6. ill be moving when my policy's up then, that's for sure
  7. Pretty sure Shannons don't insure under 25's with imports or atleast they didnt when i rang for a quote 3 years ago. It can be added to the policy but doesnt mean they'll cover it i.e. if it's defectable, as per their disclaimer.
  8. Hey guys, I know there is an insurance thread but i was after some specific advice on insurance and defectable mods. A good mate of mine had a prang in his pretty stockish S15 (insured with Just Car). A lady was at fault, pulled out of a side street and T-boned his front right quarter panel. Damage is moderate however he had a set of Cusco coilovers and the front right was damaged. Just Car are saying they won’t replace it because they’re not legal? Which is true I guess…Has anyone had any experience in similar situations? Any advice on where to go from here? Should we start looking for a used pair of front coilovers? Cheers
