    Need Some Help

Hey all Just got my R33 from one of the nice forummers here. r33ckt, if you're reading this, good stuff on the ride you sold me. It's running awesome and I'm loving every bit of it and definitely having more feel with it than with my MR2. (Though I still liked the MR2) But just got a question here. The front end had a sports grille minus the mesh. I've removed it and fitted a standard S1 grille in its place, but I'm looking to fit mesh on the sports grille. This might have been asked before by others but I'll like to ask again on what's the best way to fit the mesh on and where can I get a mesh. Not talking about crappy thin wire mesh but something similar to the one on the GTR. Appreciate it if anyone can enlighten me on this.
  4. Same thing happened to me with some tosser trying to scam my MR2 which I had put up on carsales. Best thing is to just ignore it.
  5. Hi guys Just a quick question. Will a S2 aircon compressor fit and work well on a S1 R33?
  6. Hi guys Just like to ask all a quick question. Will a S2 aircon compressor work and fit on a S1 RB25DET?
  7. Hi guys. I'm after a standard S1 R33 front grill. Badge or no badge, doesn't matter, as long as it can fit into the spot and cover up the gap to protect the fmic.
  8. If i remember right, it was sold weeks ago. Please update it.
  9. You don't do interstate postage, do you? After a R33 aircon compressor at the moment.
  10. I do know one who is brave enough to do an occasional dodgy one and I was lucky enough to get one from an owner who knows him and ....... surprise! surprise! The struts were revealed to be completely worn out through a random service by another mechanic that took place a month AFTER the roadworthy and I was left shitting myself scared to the guts thinking that I could have gotten into an accident on the freeway.
  11. Looks schmick! You got an ad in carsales yet? If not, maybe try there and you might get better luck in there. If so, patience will be needed, though $18500 is pretty reasonable for a manual GT-T. Alot out there are priced for much more, especially with your kind of kms. Good luck in the sale anyway.
  12. Hi all Letting go of my '91 non turbo SW20. Used mainly as a daily, driving only less than 10km everyday to and fro work and occasional once-a-fortnight trip to Richmond. Though loving the way it handles, I have decided that I'll need something that has more than just 2 seats. No mods on it other than 17" stock rims, amplifier and twin 10" subwoofer in the boot, all which were put in by the last owner. Other than those, everything is as stock as it was when I got it. Runs reasonably well. Will also be throwing in a spare pair of glass roofs. Got them from another MR2 owner who was parting a wrecked MR2. Never used since bought and still untouched though 2nd hand. Price asking for $6250. Highly negotiable as the body is not in its very best condition. Visible signs of wear and tear on steering wheel, driver side power switches cover and slight cracks on the dashboard. Price includes roadworthy. Service recently done at Anson Auto, located in Richmond. Located in SE suburbs of Melbourne. PM me if interested. Pics can be seen in http://www.flickr.com/photos/15399498@N05/
  13. Hi all! I'm an MR2 owner relatively new to this forum. Should have done this a long time ago. Now trying to change to a skyline from the 2 as after driving for 3 weeks, I realised that it's not for me, despite it being very unique.
  14. I guess I was one of the "lucky" ones to get a dodgy one.
  15. Recent update. Just inspected another R33 gts-t today. The last one was stick, this one was auto. This time, I had the guy drive it for me and show me the car's response when boost kicks in. Being a cold and rainy day today, he drove around normal to warm it up a bit for about 5 min. After that, he switched the selector gear to "2" and went the way through with it. Being a stock car, boost kicked in at 3000rpm and it held on till around 5500rpm when he let go. ( was in a residential area, so can't boost it all the way.) Though being auto, when he was driving it normal in 1st and 2nd gear, the car feels like absolutely normal like it should. It didn't have that weird draggy feeling the first one had. Some of the guys here suggested a bigger turbo being installed into the first car. Possible, but imo it shouldn't affect the performance below 3000rpm. The first car felt like it was towing a bus at 1st gear and this one feels totally alright. So back to the first car, I would suspect that something somewhere needs an eye on it and the owner is either hiding it or not knowing it. Feels like a clutch or gear slip, but can't confirm.
  16. First exhaust, now tinted windows. What's next on their list? Cars with 4 wheels and bikes with 2 wheels? Or maybe they'll start forcing people to wear a helmet while driving.
  17. Well.... at least you've told everyone in here.....
  18. Right.... point taken. Thanks.
  19. Thanks guys! Very informative. Maybe I'll try to push it a little more for the next ones, but with the seller being comfy with it first, of course. I didn't ask the seller if everything's stock or not. But i guess a leak might be the most possible reason cause the car's really feeling draggy at 1st gear, feels much worse than my N/A MR2. 1500 - 3000 feels almost the same. Thanks all once again!!
  20. Hi all. I'm brand new to turbo cars, never driven one before, so got a question to ask the experts in here. I'm looking to get a R32/R33 gtst and just test-driven a 93 R33 gtst. It seems to me that the car is pretty draggy in 1st gear and things only started to pick up in 2nd. I don't know if it's me or the car cause I didn't go past the 3500 mark in 1st (I never like to push someone else's car too hard), though I did feel the boost kicking in at 4000. So just like to ask all here if it's normal for turbo cars to feel a little draggy before the 4000 mark and if this happens to N/A versions. Thanks all!
