i've enjoyed reading this thread, i'd like to see a point someone raised earlier explained more throughly, they claimed that taking ~4.5 kg out of the rotating mass is like taking 80kg off the stationary mass, a) is this principle true, (point to supporting evidence plz) b) if it is true, why is this getting overlooked, 80kg is very significant. thats like lightening the car 5-6%

this is like my 33 >< up for 1k worth of suspension, now wondering what brand to go

i have a very similar story here, 33 with 11 psi boost, 3.5 turbo back, fmic, i cleaned my afm with contact cleaner and that cleaned it up to near new, it was filthy, (had a crappy hks pod filter which filtered nothing, recently changed that to a 3a racing.) i also siliconed up my coil packs, which seemed to help with the flat spot, so check your coils. i think my coil packs are on the way out maybe there not giving the spark plugs enough voltage for a decent spark, hence a crappy burn. if i change gear up in the rev range 4000 rpm + i will hear a pop from the exhaust. i seem to be getting worse fuel economy as well, i'm looking at 300km a tank now, i had a look at my O2 sensor and its got bosch written on it so i think its been replaced. so i'm not going to buy a new one. the only thing left is to get consult cable + software to see what the computer is doing,

think i saw that black 33, was out sunday afteroon around gosford / erina and saw a swag of skylines,

Ok when i'm driving or reversing out of a driveway / turning, i can hear a 'punt' sound sometimes when i straigten out the wheels, it occurs every now and again when i'm doing it and it comes from my left ear, i think its coming from the back left wheel. any ideas what it could be? hicas shitting itself? somewhere along the steering line. any self diagonosis tests i could do to eliminate things? the hicas light is not on.

is there a good way of testing for vacuum leaks? i'm kinda nervous about spraying propane and carby cleaner at my engine

there is no way i can see the specific temperature of the oil with the stock dash thermometer? is there?

ahhh ok, thanks moodles/mad082/victory for the quick replies. i didn't think the air conditioner core was that large! pretty much the same size as the radiator i shall part with some knowledge to share, NEVER buy a HKS sponge pod filter, my 3A racing air filter just arrived in the mail so i pulled off the old crappy HKS one and had a look inside and it had a collections of small stones on the inside. The thing filtered nothing! Had to clean my AFM it was discusting. Hate to think about all the crap thats been running through my engine
