Hey guys, Have been having some trouble with my 1999 Stagea RS four S HICAS lately. Recently cleared one of the error codes for the steering angle sensor with a wheel alignment but now there is one more code which I'm having trouble deciphering then my unit will be working fine. Could someone with knowledge on HICAS please crack this last error code for me, I don't want to have to purchase a HICAS lock bar and take the easy way out. My car is a daily driver and I prefer the feel of the HICAS as well as the stability control at high speeds. Got a quote for $55 to plug my car into a diagnostics reader but to save money below is a video I have uploaded of the error code to youtube for your reference. First 2 flashes indicate mode "a" or mode "b" I'm fairly confident. Then the sequence starts from there with 1 slow flash and 2 fast flashes, Then 2 slow flashes and 3 fast flashes which is what my understanding is. I could be wrong but as i said this post is just for clarification I know the steering sensor is one of the fault codes confidently.

Steering wheel is oem could be thinking it wasn't aligned properly... Knew one of the codes was code 23 but thought the other was code 12.

Mode B) Lamp on for 5 seconds. No pulses for 5 seconds. Nine 2-second interval indicating the system status (18 seconds total). You should have 3 plugs in front of your inlet manifold disconnect the top black one then use a good timing light and run it off the white wire at the back of your rocker covers. Found a little shortcut by putting the timing light half on the wire you can get a accurate base timing readout instead of running it off cylinder 1.

Hey all, Could anyone please shed some light on what the error code is I'm getting for my Hicas as I'm having a little bit of trouble figuring out on what it may be, Rear end of the car is dangerously swaying from left to right over small bumps and dips in the road along with the back end jumping/skipping over the road when cornering. Would really like this problem solved and not to take the easy way out by putting a lock bar in. Below are 2 videos i have recorded of the diagnostic fault code. So your assuming the actual Hicas solenoid would be located on the actual Hicas unit it's self? Rear wheel speed sensor should be fine it was just the 3 fault codes which i encountered for some unknown reason but seems like whenever the right rear wheel goes over a small bump/ditch the back end seems very floaty and try's to correct steering for some reason.
