The annual SAU Dyno Day - Register your interest NOW
doglet replied to Steve's topic in South Australia
Yeah I know it's not all about big numbers but it'll be nice to see some higher numbers with the bigger amount of cash that has recently been spent! Hopefully it won't be like my ex- girlfriend where I ended up getting not much in return after all the money I spent! hehehehe Looking forward to seeing some R32's with RB20DET's still under the bonnet so I can see where I am heading. -
The annual SAU Dyno Day - Register your interest NOW

I'm looking forward to seeing all these cars and seeing what numbers they run. I finally got my FMIC installed today so hopefully I won't be completely embarrassed. I'm bloody annoyed though that my ebc hasn't arrived in the post yet so I can get everything tuned up properly. At least it will be interesting to see what just a bigger exhaust and FMIC combo will run over my previous run on the dyno when everything was stock - 105rwkw!! I think the dyno operator said something like "better not let this one get away from ya". Fingers crossed it's not gonna be too hot - it seems it always is whenever there is a drag, drift or dyno event on!! -

I'll come along and have a go - finally a dyno day or cruise where I don't have to trek up north! hehehe -
Hi NightCrawler - I've been around but I tend to read more than write...still learning about all things Skyline and about cars in general hehehe Don't know much about the mechanical stuff but I have fun driving them. I'll probably come out for a cruise once I installed a couple of parts I've been collecting for the last few months. BTW - don't know about Brad.

Straight from the Famous Car Insurance - "Financial Services Guide": "Your Insurance Contract has been arranged wholly with an unauthorised foreign insurer that is not authorised under the Insurance Act 1973 to conduct insurance business in Australia. The Insurer is Heritage Motor Vehicle Insurance Limited (HMVI) of Suite 3, Town Mills, St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands. Since HMVI are not licenced in Australia, they are not regulated or supervised by APRA and are not subject to the provisions of the Insurance Act 1973. You may view the accounts of HMVI upon request. Larry Tyler is a Director/Shareholder of both Famous Classic Car Insrance and Heritage Motor Vehicle Insurance Limited, Tom Disckson is a Joint Shareholder and Director of Famous Classic Car Insurance." In the end you have to make your own mind up as to where you want to go for insurance. The above paragraph made me think twice about what I value - dollars or security, so I have personally gone back to Just Cars. The General Discussion forum has a couple of Sticky's that deal with insurance. They are full of good and bad stories about just about all the insurance companies. I am happy to show anyone the paperwork I have received from Famous Car Insurance if they want to look at it themselves....just PM me to arrange a time to meet.....good excuse to meet up with some other Skyline owners too!!

I'm 27 and just got my renewal from Famous and it was $1630 for full comprehensive, Rating 2 or 50% NCB, for my 32 GTSt. I rang up Just Cars and they quoted me $1225. Both companies have said that mods are allowed if they are legal etc....as you say Chris - what is legal here in SA? and is anything legal if it doesn't come standard? I'm sure some smart arse insurance lawyer could try and find a way not to pay out a claim. Famous are a broker for Heritage car insurance who are located in Guernsey which I think is some little tax haven in some ocean a long way from Australia!! There was a particular sentence on the documentation which I'll post up later tonight that I didn't like at all......something to do with not being covered by some Australian insurance association if the brown stuff hits the spinning thing on the ceiling!! At least Just Cars is underwritten by AAMI and they mention this when you contact them. AAMI sounds a lot better than some mob in Guernsey, unless they do an HIH! Touch wood they don't! I've chosen Just Cars this year because I think I'm starting to value the security of the local underwriter - the $400 saving also helps too!! I know it's not fair but we are all facing an uphill battle to insure our imported cars and the only measure of a company's performance is when someone has a crash. Some people have good experiences with certain companies and others have bad experiences. We only have dealings with the companies when they are trying to screw us for money to pay our premiums or when we have a crash......times when we'd rather be buying something else or driving our pride and joys. Cheeky32 - be careful not to have a unplanned dealings with your insurance company ie. make a claim, because they are always looking for a way not to pay out on claims if you haven't disclosed all details about your car or driving record. I'll post that Famous stuff later on when I get home.

I'll keep that in mind!

The door cloth in my 32 is peeling and I was wondering what type of glue I should use to stick it back down? Also how many clips and screws are there to remove the interior door panel coz I think removing it would be the best way to restick the cloth. Thanks

bump Now $25 including postage or $20 pickup in Adelaide.

Unique Autosports Intercooler Group Buy.
doglet replied to Bl4cK32's topic in General Automotive Discussion
In my email and in my last phone conversation with UAS they said that the top pipe would be one piece and not section welded. They said it would be better and I reckon it would look better too. I could tell that UAS were getting frustrated with the delay but they were always happy to talk when I phoned them. I will still buy from them if they have some good deals in the future. Might go home early so I can get mine!! -

I got an email to say that mine is on its way. Hopefully it arrives today. Was it sent by courier? I'm at work so hopefully a card was left for me to collect it later....fingers crossed I can get it on the weekend. EDIT: What's the quality like? -
Bought this in the forum group buy here and being the typical bloke I bought the wrong bloody size!! Size data can be found here under the "t-shirts" link on the left. I have only tried this on for 20 seconds before folding it back up again. Looking for $30 which will include postage to anywhere within Australia. If you can pick up in Adelaide then it's yours for $25. First in with the price, best dressed!!

It doesn't matter what car the perpetrators or the victims are driving....commodores or whatever. People who steal cars, bash people in other cars in road rage or drive like dickheads and end up in car chases are criminals and should be treated as such. We all need to be responsible for our own actions. Let's hope the victim in this case pulls through and is able to enjoy a life that has been jeopardised by someone elses actions.

Muz, yeah I priced a similar unit (I think) and it was about the same price. I'd like it for when I drive to Melbourne as I don't feel like adding to Victoria's revenue. They can smell us South Ozzies from about 100 miles away!! Just ask anyone from SA who has driven or knows someone who has and there are stories to tell. Ararat is a hot spot!!

bump...I wanna know too. I don't really want a stalk though. Instead I'd like the buttons on two blanking plates on the dash.

Thanks everyone!
