As the title suggests. I am lookin for some new rubber for my 260RS autech. The only problem is the rim size that I have on the car is a bit of an odd size. The rims are currently wrapped in 265/40/17 tyres. They seem to be a limited in choice of tyres for this size rim. So far all I have been offered from one of my local tyre mobs are Falken RT615. http://www.falken.com.au/tyres/passenger-RT615.html They look the goods, but I am keen to hear ya thoughts and any other choices that you may know of that may be of use to me.

Thanks for your reply. See my replies to your answers in red below. Blow off valve is no where to be seen...? (can anyone tell me exactely where to look?). And it is also fairly quiet, which is also good. As both the exhaust and BOV are quiet, and the car looks nice, simple and stock from the outside with the 17 inch Volks (not 20inch chromies), I feel pretty sure I "should not" have too much strife with this car. I live in a country town with a population of 25,000 though so there aint too many schmick cars about... Thanks for your answer SMOKEY ol' mate.

VOLK TE37 BLACK 17" Alloys. N1 R34 GTR Turbos. HKS Dump Pipes. Greddy Piping Kit. NEW Exedy Triple Plate Clutch. N1 Apexi fully adjustable suspension (coil over i belive...). Mines airflow meters. HKS Spark Plugs. Braided brake lines. Front dampers. Rimax Clear cam cover. Oversized injecters & fuel rail. Adjustable cam gears. HKS Front mount intercooler. HKS 24 Row oil Coiler. Aftermarket exhaust (not sure what diametre as yet). Engine Dampener. Front and rear torsion bars. Brake Booster. Relocated Oil Filter. Full Roll Cage. Blitz Turbo Timer. Blitz Boost controller. GReddy gauges, oil pressure, fuel pressure, Oil temp, exhaust temp + more. This is one awesome car, which can run up to 1.6 Bar. Endless Brake Pads all round. Recaro Front seats. There maybe more. As I dont think that even the owner exactley everything that has been done to this car. I am also pretty sure he mentioned MOST of this was done by Mines in Japan. Could this be true? My main question for you all is... What on this car is defectable? And what can be passed by an engineer so it aint defectable? Anything you have to say, both good and bad is much appreciated.

Maybe something to take along with me when I dyno my new toy! I could plug it in and see what happens.

Yeah it is a ex powerplay car. I hope it is A1 and not had too harder life as it has done a couple a track days but on the other hand it seems to of been well maintained. I have a big pile of recipts for it detailing what he spent on it on upkeep. I generally do not buy already modified cars but have wanted a 260RS for sometime now and couldnt go past this one! As for it being fast... blody hell its fast. But I can only get the boost to go as high as 7psi even after playin with the adjustable boost dial!?? Was told by ex owner it can go as high as 23psi! Dunno how I will go with rego as I have not had to do it yet. The ex owner recons he had no problem. But we'll see... I am not to keen on the gauges that have been slapped on the dash board so may look at relocating them of atleast getting them to sit better on the dash. Its a terrible job someone has done putting them on there. As for the roll cage. It has had alot of time spent on its instalation as it is all hidden from outside of the car except for when you are looking head on into the front window. Its got a heap of mods. I will have to find the list of them and post em up at a later date for you.

I have read nearly every post in this thread. I got sick of reading about people bragging how old they are and what they drive. So now it's time for me to post. I'm looking at purchasing an 1999 Autech Stagea 260RS. I'm 32 with a flawless driving record and 60% no claim bonus and I live in a country town with a lock up garage for the car. I phoned Shannon's yesterday and they wont even give me any insurance. They reckon ya gotta be a member of a car club!? Just cars wanted $1700 with $600 excess. Or down to $1100 with a $1700 excess. Well... I would hate to see hoe much the bloody thing would cost me if I lived in Sydney with a terrible driving record. "End of rant"

Well I went and spoke to the guys at The Toy Shop near Newcastle. They seem like a nice bunch of blokes that sound like they know what they are on about as far as importing vehicles. Still undecidd as for what to do. I aint even driven a Stagea yet.

Ahh... Ok. And is there a company that does the conversion or do yuo have to do it yaself?

Does anyone do as my title suggests? Is there a company that can make a Stagea look exactley the same a s a GTR? I thought I may have read it on here somewhere but now I can find it!

Has anyone delt with "The Toy Shop" at the newcastle end of the F3 freeway? I want to buy a Stagea 260RS and even though they dont have one in stock, I am keen to give em a go to save me a trip down to Sydney (i am in Singleton). Can you reccomend ANYONE else around the Newcastle area?

Hey everyone. I just stumbled apon this forum and thought I would join up. First thing ya gotta do is say G'day to everyone!! I live in Singleton near Newcastle in NSW. I am lookin at buyin a Stagea 260RS. I have wanted one for a long time now and I think they are the perfect balance between "family car" and "sports car". I have previously owned a 1992 R33 GTS Skyline, a 1999 SSS Pulsar and curently own a 2003 Pathfinder Ti. All of which have been wonderfull cars and take the floggin I gave/give em with out a problem!! Anyhow, thats enough from me. I am off to study the Stagea in some other sections on this forum!
