Hey guys, I've recently pulled my spark plugs out to change and in the process I've discovered sludgy oil on the sides of my air intake pipes, specifically in the throttle section of the pipe and continues back toward the intercooler. Is this a common problem in a gtt and is this oil seals in the turbo?? Also would this be a tell tail sign of blowing a turbo??

  3. Yeah was looking last night and I think if I do upgrade it'll be an evo. Could probably get a decent one for 30k. Or possibley an rx7 02 model could get one of those for around 25-30 too. Maybe I can build a gtr when there a classic haha.

  5. haha well house is coming mid next year so i guess im gunna have to settle with my GTT. i guess ill be one of those old men that has the car they wanted as a kid haha.
  6. You all make pretty good points, I would buy one knowing those things zebra because of what longs said. But I don't think I could justify buying a 13 year old car for that amount. Why couldn't they make them a little later!! Or make a replacement for it.

  8. Because theres nothing to replace it Yeah but you could get a 09 r35 for 110k although that's 10 year difference not 3 haha.
  9. Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone else has major concerns for the japanese car scene. I'm about to become a tradesmen as all new tradesmen consider is Western Australia to haul the big bucks. So I was think hmm I'll be pretty well off whiledoing it and seeing as I don't go out drinking much anymore maybe I could upgrade my gtt to a 34 gtr which I've dreamed of having since I was a boy. But I got thinking, do I really want to spend 50,000 dollars on a possible 12 year old car? So I got looking and thought hmm maybe an evo 9, fast, 4wd which I'd like, looks good. But it just doesn't have that same trophy/weekend car that the gtr would have in a garage. I've looked at mps (fwd ), wrx (to popular, same problem as evo) r35 (I'm Not a millionaire), Honda integra, (not showy enough and I like turbos) What's happened to the r34 the rx7 the supras the s15s even?! Does anyone with an unbias opinion think a r34 gtr is worth the amount of money when you could get nearly 2 evo 9s for the price??

  12. here they are. XXR 552s from the states. (aka Taiwan) i know there not the greatest racing wheels in the world but i like to keep my things in good condition. idk if i will use anything yet, just getting an idea. thanks for that link, does anyone else use anything???
  13. Just bought some wheels, wondering if I should use some kind of protective film for easier cleaning? Possibly silicon spray?

  15. Hey dude I got a turbo back stock exhaust at mine (except the cat) I live in shellcove which is Probly an hour and a half drive for you. Can let you borrow, catback dump and front pipe. Petrol would Probly cost more then a loaner I'm guessing?? Idk. Anyways if you want it you can pick it up any time after 3 today or tomorrow. I think I have the bolts and gaskets but not 100%

  20. alright ill have a look tomorrow thanks alot. i dont want a fmic because its a pretty obvious illegal defect. im not to keen on spending money on an ecu and tune either, id just like it to sit nicely on 10psi and thats as far as i want to go with mods atm as im buying a house next year. i think i will take it to a dyno though thanks for your help and time mate

  22. yeah thats a good idea. hmm fair enough, how much would that cost??? im not running a front mount though and i dont really intend to, wouldnt that be bad?? if i wanted to do a track day id probly melt my turbo haha.
  23. Sorry it's +1 kg/cm2 Yeah fair enough. Do you know a cheap way to know what my boost is accurately?? I don't have a front mount so I'm Gunna have to do something. Maybe I could a smaller size down t peice and clap my hoses down onto it. Think that'd be enough?? Can I set up the solenoid back to normal?? And will my boost sit on 10 cause of my other mods??

  25. hey guys, I have a really weird vacuum hose set-up for my boost. I have a r34 gtt 2000 model, and i dont use a solenoid (bought the car like that), the turbo, actuator and BOV return vacuum lines are all T'd together and the stock solenoid is sitting there with nothing in it. everything was alright however ive put a turbo back (split dump pipe) and pod filter on the car and it feels like its pulling way to hard. ive heard if you install a dump pipe your boost will rise but this feels like 12-14 psi also (i know its not accurate) my stock boost gauge goes up to +1 mmhg aka 14psi, id like it to sit on 10 psi all the time which i think would be possible without a controller if i could possibly set up my solenoid?? if those three hoses are T'd together would that mean the waste gate is permanently open??? because theres no control from a solenoid??? any help would be greatly appreciated
