  4. is that expensive duncan?? pretty much determining weather to join the wakefeild day on how much itll cost to fix it.
  5. Thanks Duncan, Maybe that's why my clutch is making a strange humming noise now lol. Think I stuffed it, in reverse with my foot on the clutch is hums, take my foot of the clutch an put it in neutral and it goes away. Only in reverse too. Synchos maybe?? Or clutch?
  6. i bought my stock gtt 4 early may, got the 100k and 10k service done, brake pads gearbox fluid etc. has never missed a beat and everyone that sees it complements how clean it is and is shocked that its a 2000 model. the engine is smooth and there is nothing wrong with it. not all are thrashed in aus, be patient and look around, i bought mine off a 30 odd year old lawyer who loved it as much as i do now.
  7. Did anyone get some good pics?? Post post

  10. 40km/h winds?? wet track?? Geez this will be a steep learning curve!!!
  11. 2 grand for a vti??? the cheapest i see is 7 grand.
  12. Hahaha that's an awesome video! Yeah I know, but I dont think anyone in an sv6 will be suspecting my sexuality when the pull up next to my skyline hah. No one I know that's my age comes close to it hah, mainly they don't have a car period.
  13. Ok I'll call them thanks alot Terry. Yeah it slips in ok but it was just a shooter shift, I drove my friends rs and it felt similar but not as bad.
  14. have you got the 1.5 matt? the vti??
  15. i think i like the jazz the best but it is the most expensive. im looking at 8 grand for a decent one. i guess ill give it a month or two and try and get some weekend work
  16. Hey everyone, my friend is looking at buying a subaru wrx 07, we went for a look on the weekend for one he has his eye on, i had to drive it because he isnt the most confident manual driver, can do it but we agreed my judgement would be better because im simply more experienced. so i took this thing for a run, and it seemed very strange compared to my gtt, the clutch was alot heavier and the gearbox felt VERY heavy, you know how you put a car in reverse and it doesnt go in? its half way between gears and itll grind if you try and drive like that, it felt like that in all gears, but thats how it drove. ive heard nothing but bad from subaru gear boxes and told him im a little concerned. (he said he just changed his gearbox oil, ive heard it takes a few hundred kms for the gearbox to feel good, and the car was cold.) he also went to tee up the nrma to look at it but they dont do that anymore apparently, so hes going to look for a mechanic to look at it. we live in the illawarra and personally i HATE mechanics (in the area that is) i think there dodgey, condescending, rude with no people skills. so i have two questions, 1 does this gearbox seem normal for a wrx or a bit dodgey?? 2 does anyone know a good mechanic thatll give us a hand? we live in shellharbour 15 mins south of wollongong. im sure theres some rexy fans out there thanks Jarrad
  17. hah looks alright ay. seems to be less efficient then the jazz. definitely food for thought though. thanks
  18. I'm leaning towards the jazz, my friend at work swears by Mazda. I'll Probly get the jazz because of looks.
  19. Hmm I've heard there's lots of problem with the holdens with LPG conversions. Would this apply to a canry would you think??
  20. Hmm I didn't think of the Mazda 2 I'll check it out, Id agree that the jazz is better, power windows and 4 door I think I'll be looking for one of them. I can't get a swift because my sister has one would be a little weird.
  21. yeah just looked at that, atm its between an echo and the jazz. gf doesnt like the look of the poor cube hah.
  22. hmm it looks alright ay. i dont think i could handle an auto, i think id get to bored, and also itd probly lack the fuel economy of a manual, definately keep it in mind though, thanks
  23. Hey everyone, thinking about selling my beloved 88 camry for something newer and more economical. im looking at a hot hatch, i dont really care how feminine it looks, not looking to impress anyone, i need fuel economy, manual transmission and 2000 model +, pref 4 but 2 door is fine, looking at no more then 1.5l and no less then 1.3 so far ive been looking at the Hyundai Getz 02 model- 1.5l (seems more fuel efficient then the 04) Toyota Echo 03ish model- 1.3l Toyota Echo sportivo- 1.5l possibly copy my sister and get a swift? just looking for something cheap, around 8 grand, very economical, but one catch i need it to be able to climb mount eusley probly once a fort night and get me to newcastle from wollongong. wondering if the echo 1.3 would be strong enough to get me up there alright?? give me some suggestions of your favour eco cars nothing over 10 grand as im buying a house and going on a euro trip next year
