  1. You can just swap the gears over with the front cover off, without removing the timing belt completely. Have the engine at tdc and swap one at a time, they are a bit tight to get on and off, but definatly heaps less stuffing about. If your worried about the balancer tdc mark being correct, only a matter of checking no1 piston tdc through the spark plug hole.
  2. Smoke is blue when oil is burnt in the combustion chamber and exits the exhaust Smoke is white when dumped into the exhaust after the chamber, Sounds like turbo seals
  3. If the "smoke" you are referring to is actually steam, don't rule out a blown head gasket, water burning in the chambers causes steam. you will need to provide as much info as possible, or a video
  4. Sound to me like your main problem is the head drain is on the drivers side of the sump, these drain's at times cause more issues that they fix, with the rotation of the crank, it is known to cause pressure on the top drivers side of the pan, hence pushing pressure/oil into the rocker covers. You could block the head drain off completely at first to try it to see if it eliminates the problem, or swap it to the turbo drain pipework on the passenger side. Just speaking out loud as to what i would be trying if it were my car
  5. while on this subject, is the r34 gtr cooler the same as the r33 and r32 unit? As i have heard of people "upgrading" to the r34 gtr oem cooler?? is therte any difference?
  6. fair enough.... so what do you run in the way of exhaust Rob?? Do you run a cat, or some special "high flow" version have you tried different setups or with the exhaust dropped on the dyno to see the difference?
  7. this is very true, will do. when i eventually get on the dyno i will post the results for others information either way
  8. this sounds awesome, but i'm sure my stock bottom end hates me enough as it is
  9. How do i know if its a 100 cell, the brand is Matrix Metal Cat, can i tell by looking inside it? good to see real results, but i suppose what i'm saying is, the cars making 550hp at the tyres with a 5" cat fitted, would they make 2, 4, 10, 20??? rwkw more if removed and a straight pipe fitted, FOR RACE AND DYNO USE
  10. running no cat on the street is not the go, i realize this and will be running it, the question asked is, will the engine make more power without it? For the dyno tune and to use a decat for the track
  11. i will most likely do so, but if anyone in the know thinks its not worth it..........
  12. My r32 gtr, does not usually run a cat when taking the car to the track, i have a decat to bolt in its place, but this is a 3" cat and a 3" system, well some of it is 3" so it may as well all be I'm currently making up a whole new exhaust which is a twin 3" into 4" front pipe with 3" HPI dump pipes, and a full 4" exhaust without any restrictions, Hks 4" muffler etc. I do have in my possession a Matrix metal cat which is 4" pipe size and 5" through the body. Wanting to know if anyone has back to back tested anything like this, will it be worthwhile me building a decat to test on the dyno and running at the track, or wil the 5" cat not be a restriction? my mods and goals are: rb26 stock stroke 700cc inj pfc pro + Z32 afm's 2860-5's currently at 1.5 bar HPI dumps twin 3" into full 4" system straight through muffler BP ultimate 98 octane fuel looking for high high 300's rwkws, 400 would be nice any help appreciated
  13. that pump looks stock for sure, nissan emblem and JECS.
  14. bit of an update on this situation, so the first pump pictured at the top of this thread is what i'm running, 32gtr, wound the wick up today 1.5 bar and i can easily run the afr into the 9.0 reigion if i nneded to. i supplied the pump with a direct feed from the battery and a relay. so it seems to be flowing quite a lot. Mods. JUN 264 9.7mm 2860-5's 700cc injectors
  15. The difference will be negligible, I wouldn't worry about it. What power are you chasing? The stock cooler seems to do a decent job. If you are going to run it up on the dyno, back to back testing between the two cores would be nice to see.
  16. anyone know if a gtst pump fits straight into a gtr, (R32) ? as this pump fit straight into my r32 gtr just trying to clarify if its a gtst nismo/tomei pump
  17. yep, well the stock fuel pump will run out of legs about 300 rwkw, if what you say is true, i wonder if the gtst pump is rated to the same flow? it fit straight into the gtr, direct replacement, so yea?
  18. i have a r33 gtr motor in my r32, didn't change the sensor over, so yep they are the same
  19. I have a Tomei pump here, direct replacement for r32 GTR, it looks exactly like the one you are showing. the stock pump has "made in japan" and "JECS" stamped on the body. Not sure why some Tomei one look different, but the one i have was purchased from japan while over there and is identical to what you have. Also my car was running out of fuel, 100% injector duty cycle 700cc, replaced stock pump with the tomei and it richened up the top end, so seems all sweet.
  20. There is a set of oil water lines that stay attached to the turbos, so you just undo the ones that are easier to reach, no need to undo the inside turbo water line or the ones on the block etc. The dump pipes come out with the turbos, so dont remove them, just undo the two bolts on the bottom of the dumps that attach to the exhaust.
  21. Love the wheels on the 32 Gtr, do you know which they are, size and offset. Look hot as
  22. sorry, all i meant was the polish was splatttering everywhere, but i have used this product again and use less water and less speed and seem to be having more success, i have a rotary polisher, not orbital.
  23. bc br coilovers have lots of thread, fairly sure my sill panels would have been on the ground have i not wound them up before installing them.
