  1. Ok and here I go in a different thread but after spending sadly a half day of time going through all the pros, cons and options, I'm seeing the light and want to go pockets where the screen is and where dvd rom and etc are (unless I can Frankenstein a new touch screen into where the existing screen goes and do something funky there)..

So apologies to all for pestering over the same questions, but am now super keen to find the pockets.. Suggestions ??

many thanks again for suffering me

  3. Would it be worth taking a bolt in to get matched and replace all of them. Or are they all different sizes?

Yes i would get new bolts so you know they wont snap. They are inexpensive and save alot of messing around if you do snap em. I learnt the hard way and did the same due to having to do it twice with it shifting it place due to no gasket goo.
  4. Oil will cause more of a smell than catching on fire. Main thing is if you leave it for a while to monitor oil levels. If you do it now it may take up to 2 hrs to complete and make sure you use gasket glue to hold it in place (yes others will say you don't need to but they got lucky). This will allow you to get under the heater hose without it falling out. Be careful tighten the old bolts as they have been heat perished and will snap of over tightened.

  5. Would be very interested where you get with this as I would like nothing more than to do away with the terrible anchor point install that was done on my car.

As an aside, anyone know how the Japanese child seats are installed? Do they use the "luggage" tiedown points or something else?

I would say that they use the tie down points. If not there may be a thread point you can use and drill a small hole in the floor panel and use a floor type harness point.
  6. Given the sealing arrangement used by the AM Performance intake between the two sections; bet my life that the miss is unmetered air getting in through the slip joint.

It's a silly idea, and unless it was an o-rings joint; it will always leak a little, if not a lot.

Never had any issues when i had it on mine....

Air flow is feeling very restricted as of late

  7. Yours sounds like afm. Its almost like one of the pins is dirty/not making full contact inside the plug. Assuming this happened after ypu installed the intake and afm was plug was unpluged?.

    What about 02 sensor.

  8. So get a PM35.

    No turbo to worry about

Different AFM (seems much more reliable)

    Nicer interior

    Common engine

    Updated transmission

Really, the only downside to the 3.5L is that there is no turbo.

    Some people. .....

  9. I've never seen that second pocket! Mine has a weird Panasonic DVD drive in there for the GPS system.. that'll get ripped out eventually :P

I got it from yahoo auctions in Japan. Yours may have had the screen from factory as mine had the dvd rom in that area.
