  1. for my MV kit, just a slight kick from 1st to 2nd and back down again, slightly more uncomforatable than stock in slow traffic, good for high throttle, kicks harder when on low/no throttle. 2 to 3 to 4 is tight but not noticable. exactly how it should be from factory.

  2. from what ive read, Nissan addressed some water flow issues with earlier pumps with higher flow at mid range rpm on the NEO pumps through their redesign. I suppose its like oil, whatever the budget can allow, but NISSAN wouldn't have redesigned it without a reason.

  3. the part under dash is 31038-0V700, "shift control assy", not "shift control unit" ie the 31036 part, which comes up as 'no applicable part #' for yours and mine as well, but may still exist somewhere ??? but im leaning towards 31038 being the one and only C/U the more I interrrogate FAST.

worth swapping this part before you go any further to eliminate it.

  4. dont fret yet, mine is same, apologies, diagram was from R34, but shouldnt be too far away, check under dash, should still have the part number on it to help u. There is a similar looking unit under dash between steering column and fuse panel, could be the culprit.

  5. occasionally come up on yahoo auctions jp. There was a guy in japan who made harnesses to convert to the S2 climate control unit, but was around $500 from memory. You would also have to change surrounds etc, different shapes. If you do get another xanavi, big tip is to replace cooling fan in back (12v pc part), a main suspect for xanavi deaths.

  6. all interchangable, including manual, auto, rb26 and neo. No. of teeth varies (cranking speed) over different years/ models/ manufactuers (hitachi or mitsubishi) /cold area versions etc, but this isnt an issue. If you send me the part # off your new starter I can tell you the model it came off, for interest sake.

  7. Just wondering if S1 and S2 autos are the same ? No

Also the front diff does that just use engine oil ? NO, GL5 85w-90 gear oil...where did you get that idea from ???

The transfer case, thats part of the gearbox so it uses transmission fluid right ? yes

How do you flush this transmission ? take it to an transmission shop for best results

  8. thanks everyone for the info, ordered a new accumulator from Nissan today, $380, and a new relay to be sure $40. Didnt want to take a chance on a 2nd hand unit as they are all over 10 yrs old by now. But seems to be an opening for a business if they can get a recharge service going.
