  2. I thought this thred was for dyno figures? apparently not.... Anyway, Ive only put down what was read out at the car show where the dyno run was done, And I thought the turbo r34 standard are 208kw and the gtr 280kw? From what I've read about a million times N/A RB25de neos do about 147kw standard?? is this wrong coz the thing will keep up with my mates boosted s14 no problem?
  3. Does anyone else think this is posible. Could I get the top half of the rb25det neo plenum, throttle body, throttle cable, aac valve (and hoses), hard pie (with bov blanked off) and if anything else would be needed feel free to say so, and put onto my rb25de neo, Thus, eliminating clutter on top of the engine and looking much better or is going to create problems? I would like my engine to look a bit neater but if it is going to run like shit or anything I wont bother.
  4. I hit 170 in my ca20e equipped Nissan pintara, was pretty damn scary in fwd. I now have a N/A r34 and on a dyno run it went off the clock completely at 7400rpm. I had it at 150 at one stage on the road and the speedo needle was still going strong. I don't think it would have any problems getting 200.

  9. My Dad's boss got a crewman ute (vz i think?) and at 50,000km it dropped a valve and the piston punched it out of the motor so a new motor went in and just recently the LSD shat itself and that thing does'nt get thrashed. My brothers commodore (i'll admit its got about 200,000km) just replaced the transmission on his because the tourque converter seal went south and cooked the gear box. And Ive never seen a commodore that has had the central locking fully working (except my Dad's VX which he bought about a year ago), I've also seen alot of head gasket problems in the 3.8l commodores. You rarely hear about these problems in skylines (from my experiance anyways, others may have different experiences), to me they seem to be a much better build quality than a commodore, dont get me wrong, I do think that they are a good car in their own right, they're tough, good handling and comfortable for a family car as long as they are left standard, but they are'nt a performance car, again thats my opinion and anyones aloud to think what they want.
  10. Dear god, please do not get a commodore, they are trouble, every one i know who has them has had a whole range of probs fom transmission, diff, radiator, oil and even the bloody door handles. Get some nice wheels, skirts, lowering springs, 2.5" exhaust, K&N panel filter, give the thing a polish with something decent like meguires wet look or something (including head lamps coz it brings em' up like new) then see what it looks like to your mates vz or whatever it was. I know R33s are common but compared to commodores its nothing, and its good to see them in the country where they're even less common and standing out from the crowd of every other "hectic" commodore. Just my opinion though...
  11. I'll aggree with that and the car will go so much better with the panel filter over the pod. And the hose that goes to the air box before the air flow meter is a air intake temp sensor (I think?).
  12. Have you been pulled over by police or defected yet? And how do you know your car is popping flames, would have thought it would have to be pretty high powered before it does that?
  13. If there is a vacume hose connected to the box, its gonna be there for a reason. If there is a lesson to be learnt (and I have) with high tech engines like the rb25 neo that the engineneers that made the engine are pretty good at their job. You could drill a tiny hole in the base of the pod and silastic in a small holow tube that the vacume line will fit. I done that. Or, if you want an awesome sound to come from the air intake, leave the panel filter in place and just remove the intake snorkel and about 3800-4500rpm the induction noise will be louder than your exhaust, I've done this and it is still like it today and completley legal and sheilded from engine bay heat. Try it and see how you go.
  14. Originally my car had a massive X Force Cannon but was losing back pressure and was gutless down low and really loud so I replaced it with a lukey sports muffler. 2.5 inch mandrel bent cat back with something like a lukey rear muffler is the way to go I done that to my NA Neo RB25 and with a high flow fuel filter, K&N panel filter, Super Spark Coil packs with Iridium plugs I managed 177kw or 235hp on a dyno run.
