  1. hey guys i have a c211 with an L24E engine. i have obtained another distributor for it. can anyone give me a bit of a step by step guide on how to fit it. any help would be much appreciated. thanks
  2. its not a straight 500 drop. alot of the time i get multiples in a row adding up to 500 rpm. ill try your check next time it starts happening. what is your sugested fix for a lean pop?
  3. the revs drop off by about 500rpm. im not sure if its the gearbox or engine was hoping someone could help me out there. is there anyway of checking for a lean pop while driving.
  4. i have tested the vehicle on a gas bench and everything is good has a lambda reading of 1.02. and all the other gas levels are within specs. i have recently replaced the coils, spark plugs, fuel filter and o2 sensor . i have also cleaned the air fuelter and afm. the vehicle runs fine at idle but once you start crusing along anywhere between 80 and 120 with the engine at operating temperature the car se ems to jolt as if a really bad miss is present. i have also noticed that the power light flashes on start up. after running diagnostis the lock up solenoid signal is missing or faulty or something cant remember exactly what it means. could this have something to do with it? the car is a 1993 nissan skyline r33 gts with an auto transmission. any idea would be appreciated
  5. generally if the afm is faulty the car wont run at all, cold or hot. but like greeko said the same thing happened to him and it turned out to be the afm. so if you have access to an afm its worth a try. let us know how it goes
  6. i also had a similar problem although i only had a major missfire not quite stalling when the car got to operating temperature, it turned out that 4 of the 6 coil packs had cracks and as the engine warmed up the cracks expanded causing the sparks to jump outside the coil. might be worth a look.

  8. it sounds to me like a bad connection somewhere. you said that if you disconnet everything and reconnect it that the engine runs. so i would recommend dicsonnecting and reconnecting one thing at a time until you can start your car then focus aroumd that

  10. Hey guys. I recently aquired a c210 4 door manual and it needs a new distributor. I am wanting to put an electronic distributor in it. I am led to believe that i can get one from a mr30 skyline, can anyone verify if this is correct or not and if so about how much one would cost. Or is there another vehicle that i can get one from. Thanks

  12. replaced the coils. it runs a lot better now especially at higher revs. but there is still a miss. it is most noticable at idle
  13. spark plugs are all good. did find small cracks in the coil packs. so i have ordered new one and they will be here this afternoon
  14. the car runs great first thing when the engine is cold. as it starts to warm up it starts missing at low revs. the hotter the engine get the worse it gets at higher revs. so when it first starts to warm up the car runs well when travelling at 2500 rpm but almost stalls at idle. then when at operating temperature the car misses badly at revs and only slightly at idle. will be checking coils.and plugs this morning
  15. with a hose and some degreaser although that was only used where some fuel had leaked around the filter and on the engine number

  17. hey there guys. got defected for being to low the other day and need to get a roadworth. before i went to take it in i gave it and the engine bay a wash. i then backed it out of the wash area and into the garage. about 10 minutes later i went to take it for a drive and it had a miss at idle. i went to keep driving it as i was heading to a workshop anyway only to have the car almost die when i went to drive off. and didnt improve at all down my drive. so i took the car back to the house. its a series 1 r33 gts with the only engine mod being a k&n pannel filter. any suggestions on what the problem might be. thanks

  20. Hey there everyone. I recently noticed that the power button flashed a number of times on start up so i ran the diagnostic test and it came up with lockup solenoid shorted or disconnected can anyone elaborate on this as well as what the solenoid does and will it cause any damage if i dont get it fixed as im a bit short on cash right now
  21. You need to loosen the tensioner bolt and possible the bolt that goes Through the middle of the tentioner slightly so that it will move easier. As for the not being able to get anything onto the nut have you tried an extention between the socket and ratchet
  22. Some alternators require a new regulator which contains the new brushes in it and you just replace the whole thing. Otherwise they are usually soldered at the back or just off to the side. As for the earth lead that you were pulling where abouts is the lead coming from and going to. Any problems with the alternator usually brings on the battery light on your dash. have a close look at the dash when the car is running as the lights could be coming on dull which indicates that some diodes are blown. But that being said the problem should have been fixed when the alternator is replace. it is very uncommon to get a new alternator that is faulty. I would be looking at cleaning the earth lead terminals and where they bolt on. Make sure that all the connections are tight. You mentioned that the car died when you were playing with the earth lead so I would be focusing on that more than your alternator
  23. yes i could put the other type of gas in the system i am using r134a as i have access to a bottle and the equipment required
  24. there is no gas in the system as a part had been removed. i have reoiled the compressor and replaced the part. i have also pressure tested the system and all is good there only need to know the amount of gas that is required as it is not on our chart.
  25. Hey there I have a 1993 Nissan skyline r33 series one gts and would like to know the amount of r134a gas that is required for the air con system. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
