hey everyone. i have a 1993 r33 gts automatic. last night when i was going for a drive i noticed that when i went over a bump there was a knock in the car. you could feel it through the centre consol. i parked the car for the night and in the morning i took it to get it put on a hoist. on the way there the car had a gentle knocking which could also be felt in through the consol. got the car onto the hoist and found it had broken a transmission mount. couldnt see any other obvious signs. put the car onto the ground and started it. clunking happened at end of starting. reversed car out of garage, no cluncking. put it in drive and drove foward a little, cluncking returned. tried reverse no noise. what i want to know is can anyone tell me if this would be caused by the transmissiob mount being broken or do i have other problems aswell? thanks

no it wouldnt help. it may stop the fuse blowing but will then cause something else fail. worse case it will melt the wires causing a fire and destrotlying your car. you need to find the problem and repair it or take it to someone that can.

hey guys and girls of SAU. i have a 1993 r33 gts type s, automatic. i have been doing a bit of rewiring of all the aux stuff in my car and i noticed that there is a computer module located in the boot (bolted to the bottom of the parcel shelf). i had removed it a few days ago and had forgotteb about it. i started my car up today and everything seemed to work alright. my question is what does this computer do? it has no stickers on it just some numbers printed on the back which im assuming is the part number. looking at the pins it has 4 quite large pins, 2 lots of 8 and 2 lots of 10 small pins. thanks

yes it would when idling. an obvious visual check can be done by removing the coil pack and looking for cracks in them otherwise you need to get them tested

take the fuel inlet hose off the engine. turn the car on and see if fuel comes out. also how sure are you there is fuel in the car. i work for racv and you would be supprised by the amount of times we have gone out to a car that the customer thought the fuel pump had died and.the swear they only.just put fuel in it only to get it back to the shop, pull out the pump and find an empty tank. next thing would be to check you afm. im sure someone on here could provide you with the voltages at the plug or if you know some with the same car see if you can borrow it

no distributor. r33 skylines use coil packs, located under the centre cover of your engine. if you remove the coils inspect them cracks as this can cause a miss. if your worried about possible water in the engine do a compression test. if there is water in any of the cylinders it will have a higher reading than normal

the water will be coming in around the tail lights. they have probably been removed at some stage and havent been resealed. i have had the same problem. although i fixed it before this stage. i used a product called stick a flex i think it was. hasnt leaked since. sorry cant really help with the rust issue. how thick is the rust because if its only surface rust you could just sand it back and apply some paint

i believe its behind the dash. have a look along the firewall in your engine bay and see if there are any heater hoses going to it. these will be connected to the heater core

does anyone know if you can get the holes where the studs go through repaired. i recently had some studs break and the holes are now ovals

is the sensor look like it is connected to the throtal because it could be the tps.

did you buy a quality brand or a cheap ebay set, because that might be your problem.

take it to an auto elec. might just need brushes or something.
