  1. I don't own a pair of jeans. I'm coming in a full suit with a tie but I'm going to be a rebel by wearing my club colours.
  2. Hi all, due to smashing a drive shaft at the drags I have put a full GTR rear end in my car which has made my Nismo 1 way diff surplus to my needs. It was in my car for about 5 months. When we put it in it was inspected and found to be perfect. I have taken the back plate off and looked inside since it came off my car and internally it is still fine. Basically what you get is the centre and off side half shaft. The drivers shaft is no good as you will see from the last pic. It's fine internally just the flange that bolts to the drive shaft is stuffed. I have been reliably told that any old drivers side half shaft will work, ie, reuse your own when installing it but that you absolutely must have the off side one. This is good for me cos I can still sell it. I want $700 for it.
  3. You could buy a second hand one which will end up doing the same thing eventually. I'm selling my Nismo 1 way when I get around to it.
  4. What exactly did you install? Also, you seriously spent hours replacing the valvebody, fluid and whatever else and then changed back after half an hours driving? Are you that impatient? First of all, you learn how to drive it differently after a couple of weeks which removes the majority of the harshness, second of all, I don't believe you. Maybe you should buy a commonwhore with slushbox. It should be nice and smooth for you.
  5. No probs here. What's your type of environment? I take mine track, drift, drag, street daily driver. Only been 5-6 months so far though. Anyway, I had thought the Jap clutches were much more expensive than the prices you have quoted above and I put that in as a contributing factor. Ie; two clutches that do the same thing but cost substantially different makes the cheaper one a better clutch imo. And finally, I think it was you who said people make the choice hard for themselves. It seems there is more than one way to connect your engine and your gearbox. Richard, if you're still reading, any idea what kind of power levels the cars that you know of that blew a flywheel?
  6. The issue might be the angle or exact positioning of the bracket that mounts to the rear of the gearbox. My CES pipe has a different but relevant issue that comes from how it lines up with that mounting point. Basically being slightly off there gets carried down the line. I suspect you will be able to make up an adapter out of a small piece of aluminium that will work to bring the whole thing own a little. There is a little flex in the whole thing so dont worry if you have to pull it down to get it to mount differently. For example, there are two holes so instead of lining up both you could line up the bottom gearbox mount hole with the top exhaust bracket hole and try that for starters.
  7. +1 baby seat!!!! Mega upset about Mark's car being unwelcome. Duncan - I'll have a sticker that says "I hate whites" ok. Oh, and another one that says "Porch monkeys FTW".
  8. This place is sounding worse everytime someone tells us something about it. Dress shoes! What is this? 1990? I guess I better not turn up in my motorbike gear. http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/stor...5001021,00.html Anyway, I'll still be there. I'm just depressed atm so I'm hanging shit on everything.
  9. You will all be there. This is going to be massive.
  10. Maybe 3 weeks. She does things in batches.
  11. Even I don't get free parking. Driving to the city would be silly. Anyway, I think I just found someone now.
  12. You count for something Jas... not sure exactly what... Bump to the top. This thing is coming up soonish. It's always big.
  13. Ahh Damn. I can't go because we have the dyno day the same day.
  14. I mean by by undershooting my dialled in time. It's DYO isn't it?
  15. Umm is that me.. or Shane? hahaha if it's me. Ok I'll enter then.
  16. Last one had 5 sick days in 6 weeks. Not good form, esp without a single doctors certificate. It's not Denman Chambers. The job is for a school leaver, no it's not a lot of money but I'm not looking for an experienced or qualified person. It's the kind of job you do for a year or so then move on to other things. Gotta start somewhere.
  17. Work in the city mon-fri in the barristers chambers with me, $25k pa. Best boss out. 18-19 years old. Anyone? Bueller?
  18. Are you saying you get a single plate clutch that can handle, say 300rwkw, with a billet flywheel for $1000?
  19. Mine did that about 5 times. I never changed the solenoid and it always fixed it when you turned it off and then restarted the car. Don't worry.
  20. Haha it's funny to see old posts you made. I've had one more off since this. 180km/h into the kink at Oran Park GP. I lifted off early then thought I would give it another quick stab of speed for the kink and brake after that. BIG mistake. The stab on the throttle while turning in for the kink brought the arse end around and I went flying off the track. Everything went slow and I managed to control the spin in such a way as to go off backwards straight because I was thinking that if I hit the kitty litter sideways I could very well flip it. This worked out well because the only damage I sustained was my rear rotors cracking from being stuck in the sand while mega hot. Also got sand up the clacker (in the exhaust pipe).
  21. Good on you for getting and keeping this going Paul. Thanks. I have a question I couldn't see an answer to. My HICAS light comes on after about 25km of normal driving. How can I check for a code like in the stock ECU? Is it pointless anyway cos it will just say HICAS error or can I get get more info? Thanks.
  22. Sorry I wasn't clear in my post but the first line - What is bad about it? - was the only part directed at you. The rest was directed at URAS cos he said off the shelf is better. I wasn't trying to argue either, just trying to find out if you knew why exactly a stock flywheel would fail in the circumstances you have described, like the kind of metal used or is it cast and aftermarket ones not or something like that. I don't know.
  23. Watch out, it's more addictive and more expensive than drugs.
