They don't seem to like design/tech advice from non engineers. I suggested they look at getting a Wolf system this year for the ECU instead of forking out mega bucks for a Motec M800 with all of the options unlocked. Didn't go down to well. My opinion in something like this would be to look at the top teams around the world and see what they are doing and a lot of the top teams, including the winner for the last three years running in Australia, are running Goodyears. Know why? Goodyear have spent time and money developing slicks SPECIFICALLY for Formula SAE competition world wide. Yet for some reason we are running Hoosiers. But what would I know, I'm just a business student I'm going to be hitting Goodyear up for sponsorship for the team as one of my first projects, followed closely by targeting one of the big fuel/lubricant companies. Need to develop a solid marketing plan first and try figure out if I am allowed to sell naming rights for the team/car as part of a sponsorship package. I have a modest goal for my two year stint with the team, I want to double their operating budget. They are currently receiving almost no external support and managed to place 15th from 48 teams in one of the most competitive comp's in the world for this category last year. I'm super keen to see what they can do with more coin/product/services behind them.

Finally heard back from the insurance guys, they are going to go ahead and repair the car. I could be in for a very long wait however as they aren't sure as yet if the IC, radiator, trans cooler and AC are damaged and need to be replaced... Considering it took PWR 4 weeks to make my previous trans cooler and radiator if they do replace them I'll be sans car for another month. IC could be another problem as Blitz don't make that particular model any more Le sigh. Oh yeah, and they haven't even looked at what caused the engine issues like it loosing fuel and becoming completely unresponsive or the surging and then almost stalling idle when I started it up the following day. I'm not pissed that they are repairing her, I'm actually happy about that. I'm just not sure I'm going to like the wait considering it took them over a week just to make an assessment on the car in the first place.

A mate of mine had his 32 GTS-T flogged from Auchenflower on Friday night. Car was recovered in late last night partially stripped and two guys were arressted I believe. Hopefully it was the same scumbags.

Also, I'd be curious to look at the whole financial situation for Wow to see what caused the collapse. I remember when ADR (parent company of Crazy Clark's) went into receivership they had just posted quarterly profits above expectations and showing year on year growth. They were a thriving, profitable business. However one of their lenders got spooked by the situation in America and called a loan for several millions of dollars which ADR were unable to meet on such short notice which caused the company to fold. I know Wow had aprox $50 million in debt split between one of the big four (thinking NAB) and creditors but unsure past that. Can anyone enlighten me as to what caused the collapse?
