  1. Bloody awesome meet! Good to meet a few more people, plus got some advice for joining in on the deca! Can't wait for the next one! (Studies permit)
  2. Yer, coming upto exam time now. But f**k that was fun, really really good fun. About 5 of us went in the end, all mates of mine, though 1 dropped out at Kinglake, recently got a gas conversion (he has a holden, something SS.) and was billowing smoke by the time we got there. He turned around on petrol and we went on to marysville. Love those twisties. One of my mates was in a Daihatsu Cuore and managed to keep up on the corners, (stripped out eveything from it yesterday and did some stupid things to the engine, I'll have to take and post a picture.) but dies wholeheartedly on the straights. I'll probably make another one in about 5 or 6 weeks up that way. Otherwise I should see everyone on Wednesday. P.S. Shell Bundoora was a stupid idea, too small, next time I'll have to think of another spot.
  3. 0402 49 one 575. In case anyine rocks up. I think there about 4 of us in total at the sec. All non SAU.
  4. So, a trip to the trans specialist and $800 later, I have 4 new solenoids, a new filter and obviously fluid. But still a flashing A/T light on the console on startup... Going to see him again on Monday to get him to read/clear the fault and see what happens, but any ideas? He did "apparently" test the solenoids before replacing them... Or is that now obviously bullshit? And since they have been replaced, any ideas on what the problem could possibly be?
  5. Already set up with a few mates. Tomorrow at 1pm, Meeting at Shell in Bundoora. Going to Whittlesea -> Kinglake West -> Kinglake -> Healsville -> Marysville? (black spur) -> Then back via slightly different route. Will be canceled if it rains or is still wet at that time (there's supposed to be early showers). Roughly 6h cruise. Looking at stopping at Healsville for breaks up and back. I'll be leading but I'm in an N/A R34, if someone else wants to lead I'm happy to let them. A few of us will have CB radios too. Teir. P.S. If there seems like there's a number of people coming we'll likely change the meeting place, as Shell Bundoora isn't big.
  6. If you do it Friday night how about Kinglake -> Healsville -> ? Did a cruise with a mate today, took badgercreek rd from Kinglake to Healsville then went about half way up the black spur. Plenty of twisties and 80-100Km speed limit through most of it, was wicked fun.
  7. Awesome. I'm on track now. I'll have to have a good look under the hood and spend some $ to get a couple things but I'm not too worried about doing it myself. One last question, since I'm taking apart the transmission sump is it worth me cleaning the solenoids anyway? Are they accessible after taking the oil pan off? If they are I might as well do that too while I'm there.
  8. Uhhhh, feel like a noob here, but where do I find that? Google didn't turn up anything :-(
  9. Well the car is second hand, so god knows what's in it, hence the need for a full flush. and silicone? Just the normal silicone you can get from the hardware store? ie gap filler?
  10. Lastly, any recommendations for the fluid? The stuff mentioned in the thread seems like overkill for a N/A Auto R34. Especially if Kiwi reckons i need 20lt of it. The Castrol Transmax Z they're talking about is $75 for 4lt!
  11. Awesome, ok. Doesn't seem too bad, found a couple of good videos too on how to go about it, So I'll use that as well. What should I be using to clean the filter? Just a rag or any products? As well as the sump tray, cause I'll have to clean that as well when I take it off ey?
  12. Thanks heaps for the info guys. Seems the light has stopped flashing. Gear changing is medioka, still a bit rough and 'jolting' sounds like the right word. @Scotty, How hard is it to take apart the sump and clean the filter? Or is it similar to changing the oil filter on the engine? @KiwiRS4T, Wouldn't you use one of the products around that are supposed to flush the old fluid out of the gearbox instead of wasting so much good fluid? Or am I making things up? lol
  13. I have an R34 GTV. I Crashed it back in feb, wen up the ass of an Astra. Her reo being higher then mine did a bit of damage. So, ~4mnths later after getting parts and $$ back on the road. Now, first day I got it back, the gearbox kicked like a mule. Changing gears in auto or tiptronic was rough as guts. Couple days into it and it's much smoother but the A/T light was flashing on startup so I took it to a mechanic and he took the fault code off the ECU for me, the resulting code: 10 Line Pressure Solenoid Problem. Now his advice was to take the car on the freeway and go through the gears, the logic being that the solenoid is "sticky" after having sat for so long, which was pretty much my idea too. If that fails flush & change trans oil. If that fails take out the solenoid and clean it. Sound about right? Any advice? Any recommended guides for doing the change on the trans? Thanks, Teir.
  14. that first one is so so so so so so so so so corny...
  15. I think I'll rock up again after a long time. Round the corner from Uni too, bloody perfect.

  17. at least SOMEONE picked up on that...
  18. Bundoora mate. Not many SAU in the north.
  19. Nah, I'm from the north. I was the only N/A of the day, gray R34 25GT.
  20. It needs some love :-( Twas at 120 KMs... So in an auto.. Twas struggling to get any faster quickly... The 4 speed is shit in that thing... but I'm stuck with it cause of auto Ps :-(... Soon... in 2014... like a big title movie... THINGS SHALL BE DONE TO THAT CAR... And it'll be fun doing them :-)
  21. THAT WAS ME! >.< Bloody bitch next to me was speeding up as I was trying to over take her... Twas rather frustrating... Especially being N/A :-( As for an incident, there was one overtaking incident on the GOR itself, guy tried to overtake 3 of us at a corner, almost went head first into a semi, would have collected all of us... Twas early in the day, towards the end of the pack (obviously, me being in a N/A) But f**k, I was driving so f**kin hard to try and keep up on that day!
  22. From the last two years it's been pretty calm. The odd idiot doing a burn out on the way out but with almost 1000 cars you gotta expect some idiots, but also as nismod said, there's cops, ALOT OF COPS. Cops at every entrance and exit, also along the cruise route. Personally, I haven't seen anything dangerous stupid... To be honest, a few of us witnessed a much more dangerous maneuver at the SAU GOR cruise this year that was completely out of the ball park compared to what I've ever seen at the cruise for charity. As for posting in events, I really wanted to just put a few feelers out, see who's interested. If it gets big enough and the mods want to organize anything, perhaps make a Member's cruise within the CfC of our own? Put in a donation together? If we get a big enough group and want to meet up ourselves and do it I don't mind organizing that either, as I said, just putting the feelers out. Once we know the start and destination, and if mods don't want to organize anything I'll perhaps put something "official" in the events area and organize it.
