What ratio is the diff?

HI, What oil pressure did you have and what did you drop it to? My N1 pump is putting out 8 bar (120psi) at 3000rpm. I will have to reduce pressure as well.

Pedestrians looking when you drive past Loud. My machinist has heard the noise and agrees that it is piston noise. As loud as stuffed lifters. The noise is VERY loud when cold and only a bit quieter when fully warmed up. The equipment is machine shop equipment. Measurement taken 10mm from the bottom of the skirt. I will check the measurement half way up the skirt tomorrow. I am trying to decide if I should fit new pistons with longer skirts or maybe get another RB block and rebore it with tighter clearances

Do you know the piston to bore clearance? I have just fitted a rebuilt RB30/25 with Mahle pistons and the motor has very loud piston noise. After 100klms with no change in the noise, I have pulled my motor out again and rechecked the clearances and found them to be at .003" as my machinist had set them. I have since heard that the pistons are race only pistons and not street suitable, that they are always noisy and should have less clearance. Do you know if this is correct?

I got an R34 box as it was all I could find at the time. Push type is cheaper. For your conversion you need the wiring harness from the gearbox up to the fuse/relay box on the drivers side inner guard for the reverse lights to operate. For the speedo to work you need the manual speedo gear drive in the box and a manual speedo head or it may be easier to buy a complete cluster second hand. Dont ask me why Nissan have a manual and auto speedo head, but they do. Hope that helps. Stan

Yes it does if you use the R33 gear lever, push type clutch and slave cylinder.

as T04GTR said, all you need is the gear lever and pull type clutch. everything else bolts straight up.

Yes you can. Make sure you get the flywheel machined. Even if the surface looks OK it is often dished slightly from heavy use.

I am about to fit an R34 box into my 33GTSt. (Auto to manual conversion) Can I use an R33 GTR flywheel with a pull type clutch?
