  1. Any car that is second hand is bound to be dodgy to some degree anyway. Just depends how dodgy you want to be (ie: cheap)
  2. Adelaide.... silver 35 sedan in poor condition on the Esplanade at brighton. Pretty much the only one i ever see....
  3. This is what mine needs. First gear it revs out to 6,500... and holds it for AT LEAST a second while it thinks about changing gears Would love tiptronic to be a TOTAL override over the computer.... so when i put it in second it wont choose any other gear... and when i select the next gear it does it without hesitation. Nismo grounding kit has had zero effect or improvement on shifting 20 inch wheels just made it worse LOL
  4. I already did that mod (properly), and dont like it. the things get waaaay too hot and are too bulky to tuck away. Thats why im trying to find the flasher can if it has one....
  5. Every time I see a bike in my rear view mirror, I make sure to shift my car over to the white line so they cant squeeze thru..... done this ever since I saw a guy knock out a mirror on his way thru. Its just plain rude, and I never do it on my bike.
  6. no its that ive upgraded to all SMD bulbs and would rather just switch the flasher can than rig up a heap of bulky load resistors
  7. Where is the flasher unit in these cars? the things are so damn quiet i cant even follow the sound.....
  8. i installed a 10 degree lower thermostat today and it made no difference to the engine temp..... and coolant blows out of the radiator filler hole when i increase revs.... so the radiator must be choked up. Obviously no water flowing thru it to heat up the thermostat. Not concerned about the engine mapping as im sure it has been way out due to the increased engine temps anyway.... and the sooner it blows up, the sooner i can do a stagea engine conversion
  9. I was filling from both the rad cap and bleed point in a variety of ways... but will go out and recheck it now. Apparently the only way to properly drain the system is by removing the thermostat housing... what a silly design fault. Anyone know for sure if the vq25 and vq35 use the same thermostat housing? i cant find a vq25 part number anywhere at all.. ps... found a cooling system document in the stagea section but it still doesnt give me what i need..
  10. Been having trouble/concerns with the engine temp always running at 2/3rds on the gauge.... so i did a radiator flush in the hope that it would maybe clean out the system a bit.... Well.... after the flush, I refilled the system with one bottle of Water Wetter and not even 4 litres of anti freeze / anti boil coolant. I definitely had an air lock as the heater would not heat unless i revved the engine.... and managed to get another litre in. Shouldnt it take more like 8 litres???? Well, something is not right. When doing light acceleration (~1500 rpm) you can hear something like water trickling behind the dash ( i assume it is in the heater core )..... the temp now runs between the 3rd and 4th small top marks on the gauge (which is half a mark higher than it was). I have also noticed that the lower radiator hose does not heat up.. So my assumption is that i still have an air lock at thermostat and that the thermostat either isnt opening or is the wrong temp. Does this sound right? My questions now are... has anyone done a thermostat swap on a vq25dd? Any tips? And is it located in the front of the engine? Or is there a third bleed valve on the thermostat side of the motor? Am kinda worried..... Should I be driving it like this for a couple days? My drive to work is about 15 mins tops, maybe 8km, minimal traffic.
  11. Installation of a twin rear muffler setup is not possible without modification and shielding of the fuel system, and removal of tow hook. Carbon canister and breather pipe will come in contact with the drivers side muffler. A local exhaust shop said it would take them a few days and over $1000 to do just mods and pipework (not including mufflers!!) from just the axle back (less than 2 metres of pipe total). Replacing the centre muffler and pipe was a whole lot more $$$ and time.
  12. You'll have trouble doing any kind of dual rear muffler setup due to fuel lines and charcoal canister location.... I tried.... and the cost blowout because of this and the mods required was ridiculous.
  13. adelaide...... standard looking blue 35 coupe heading south on south road near the overpass at around 3 or 4pm monday. didnt see me and i didnt wave
  14. just spotted 3 in 10 mins heading south on south road yellow 33 "sic033" pulling out of sprints blue 35 coupe near the overpass grey 32 possibly gtr near the underpass all 3 concentrating on the traffic infront.... understandable
  15. removable steering wheel or gear selector is looking like the best option......
  16. Is importing an entire front cut not financially viable?
  17. haha true laptop ones arent the best... but still..... sounds nowhere near as good as an LS1 using the same speakers haha Maybe its just this guys lack of mufflers...?
  18. Have to say I was very disappointed to find out that they made Stageas with the same engines in turbo form... why not the skyline? This is obviously why they will never be a desired import... I'd do the stagea engine transplant... AND swap all the front panels too
  19. I wouldnt call that youtube one a good example..... it sounds like rubbish....
  20. held back traffic on fiveash drive to let a clean 33 silver 2 door get ahead of them all with a thumbs up and passed a neat stocky 34 black 2 door on grange road who then followed for a bit all in all.... i dont see many nissans of any kind since owning one...
  21. I am lost for an answer as to why a V35 with OEM HID's loom wont power up an aftermarket headlight assembly with halogen low beam.... Anybody know the reason? Will an aftermarket halogen to HID conversion in the new headlight assembly fix this?
  22. Dont park under trees. Dont park on main roads. Dont follow trucks, trailers, or anything with a mitsubishi badge. Quick rinse off and chamois or just a static dusting every day makes it look perfect for the next day. Car cover at night. Even in a garage. Silicone spray is the best one for tyres. Forget the rest. Clean wheels + glossy tyres + clean glass = the biggest difference, if youre too busy/slack to do the rest. It all depends on how you want to be seen, really... and mine are always chauffeur-driven standard.
  23. carrying around your removable steering wheel isnt exactly a good fashion accessory.... and having a removable gear shift in your pocket might get the girls asking questions... Modify your electrical system so one major part can be easily taken with you.... or carry a wheel clamp in the boot.
  24. try "adelaide z cars" at hackham. they have a wrecked 350z which i believe has the same part
