they need to be renamed "sapol, pty ltd"
car security isnt enough. u need a secure garage with motion activated alarms and video surveillance of house and street. and one of those taxi style cameras above the rear view mirror to capture images of occupants at regular intervals.
next time i give a thumbs up to a skyline i'll be taking a photo of the driver too.... just in case
do non turbos get stolen?
haha yeah a bit paraniod. i used to be in a couple clubs that would regularly have parts stolen from the display cars, even while we were standing there guarding them... small car sunday, autosalon, here and interstate....
with the amount of thefts going on, the last thing i'd expect anyone to want to do is have their car on display for any dodgey bastard to assess for parts. this is why i dropped out of the club/show scene 15 years ago..
matte black v35 coupe g-88888 cruising with another v35 coupe, near morphette and rundle, 11.30pm sat night. gave you a beep
oh and just followed a r31 drag car on a trailer... big slicks, flat wing, tough as.
maybe its time to create a fake ad on carsales to sell to a scammer... itd be a fun game if you can shift the funds fast enough
oh and if the scammers arent annoying enough, most guys i know use the car sales sticker as a way to get a girl's number ....
i thought 35% referred to the amount of light it blocks out... which would make the rear glass more like 83%
oh and at the end of the day, if the "officer" has doubt about anything at all, they'll defect the car and let someone else work it out instead.
and yes, some "officers" are more likely to defect a ford if theyre a holden fan and vice versa (as one admitted to me)
the simple thing is:
if you just "cruise around"
... with the windows down
..... with the stereo pumping
....... a loud exhaust
........stickers and coloured lights galore......
.. youre just asking for a defect.
another carsales scammer contacted us today
"i want you car, happy to pay paypal and get my courier to collect it for me as i am busy overseas at the moment"
an ad well worth the money. not.
ive recently seen grounding kits on other types of imported cars that have different bolting locations...
for example... a S6 RX7... the kit had a cable to the alternator chassis...
but yes.... placebo affect IMO
Im not sure if they are similar at all..... the battery and master cylinder area framework for the V35 and 350Z seem pretty much the shape.... but I cant find anything that says a 350z battery cover and its base panel will fit a V35/G35. Its just that a US RHS battery cover is damn near impossible to find at a reasonable price... where as 350z ones are easy to find even in carbon fibre...
Add an extra length of cable from the battery post to the ECU chassis (assuming you have the skill to make one of course). Not saying it will make a difference, but research tells me its not frowned upon
Ebay USA for the lights. But make sure you get the JDM ones with orange indicator lenses... US version is usually all red. Will cost around $450 for the pair not including reverse lights.
Carsales is a waste of time. Have always had almost instant success just by making a car super-shiny and parking it at a high exposure location, particularly during afternoon peak hour traffic time or weekends/public holidays. And have sold cars for higher than redbook value this way...
If your car is factory HID, these new lights wont work without modification. Loom plug is the same but the pins are a different layout.
And if you do have factory HID's, the factory HID bulbs wont fit the new lights either. Factory is D2R, the US ones are most likely H1/H3/H4
I hope you enjoy completely disassembling headlight assemblies.....
its not a shift kit thing. its something electrical. maybe even something in the computer that could be reprogrammed with the right scantool. i dont want it to throw itself into the mext gear and chirp the wheels, just begin the gearchange process when i push the selector.
looks like i'll have to post a video of how long it waits before changing gears. i can literally push the selector, turn the volume up on my radio, then put my hand back on the steering wheel before it does anything at all.
my car comparison was simply from a point of selecting a gear in the V35 and then waiting multiple seconds for anything to happen. i have to select at 4000rpm so that it shifts by the time it gets to 6500rpm....,
its just that when driving our 2008 porsche, tiptronic is worlds apart in effectiveness. not so much the shift speed, but the shift delay..
im assuming that the guy who originally put the grounding kit on my car did it incorrectly as the gear changes just take for-bloody-ever. if anyone can point me to a guide for the proper bolting locations for this kit, itd be appreciated.
i didnt realise how lethargic the nissan auto was untili drove the boxster this week..

park your car facing a wall at night and look at how the light pattern angles up to the left... more light on the houses and footpath... this is what RHD headlights are supposed to do.
if you use LHD headlights, the pattern would be opposite... this light would blind oncoming traffic .
im using LHD headlights but am installing RHD lenses to fix this problem, which is a very very complex thing to do. it involves destroying parts of your new lights to do the mod.
