  1. im going to get extended studs put in and remove the studs from the spacer so it goes right thru

WOW that's different. Sounds like it would be safer than using the studs on the spacer. Hope it works well for you

As long as it's 66.1mm hub centric there shouldn't be any issues. Your wheels might have the room on the mounting surface for the studs, but 20mm should cover the studs.

What is the significance of 66.1mm? Do you think if I used 15mm spacers I would have the problem of the factory studs poking through? I think they would...

From memory, Racepace do a spacer.

Racepace do a lot of things but at a price :)

  2. Two questions for anyone that knows or has experience, when hubcentric wheel spacers are fitted, do the factory studs have to be cut down so that when the rim is fitted back it sits against the spacer and not on the ends of the factory studs that poke through (ie. you only get say a 15mm spacer and not a 40mm one which would conceal the factory studs)?

Also, has anyone run spacers on a GTR with over 300 awkw? I know they're not ideal and I'm in 2 minds about running them, but I want a bit of fatness and I'm scared a wheel will come flying off! How safe are they? In my own experience I was once sitting in a mate's Aristo when 1 of his rims came off the custom-made hubcentric spacers he was running. Luckily he was only driving at about 40 km/h :/

ps. I am quite aware of the legal issues surrounding their use :)

  3. In before threadlock too. Bigger turbos eg. Garrett 2860 -5, HKS GTSS or GTRS or older 25/30s (or 32/40s if you'e a really old school bad ass who can find them ;) ) Basiclly bigger turbos, free-flowing exhaust from turbo back, larger injectors, fuel pump, Power FC or similar, cam shafts and cam gears - that'll do it easily.....don't bother with a bigger intercooler at this stage, you're factory one is more than sufficient for that power output. Upgrade the clutch too instead of waiting for the extra power to chew through your standard clutch.....

  4. Just because we'd give body parts doesn't mean everyone would.

I don't know the guy from a bar of soap but it would appear he didn't have the passion for the car that many of us would/do.

This is true. I think his passion was more for performance and let's face it, on the world stage competing with cars that are 5 times the price, have double the power, and more impressive performance figures, the z-tune just doesn't cut it. There was a tonne of hype about the car preceeding its release and maybe some of it was a bit far-fetched. Don't get me wrong, I am obsessed with this car (I still remember patiently waiting for the issue of Autosalon in 2007 which featured the Z-tune on the front to be released!!) but I think the only people who will really appreciate it are people like us, GTR nuts who know the dedication taken to build each one by hand, that it is at the top it's game and that it is at the top of the Japanese performance tree.

  5. Also, I once asked the owner why he sold it. I could not understand his mentalty because to me, the z-tune was and still is the pinnacle of performance street cars - something you buy and never sell, at least not for a very long time. This is what he replied. Sit down before you read any further.....

    "IT WAS JUST TOO SLOW!!" :O :O :O :O

I know, crazy right? I didn't believe him either, especially having sat in it when he put his foot down. But he eventually became disenchanted with the laginess of a turbocharged 2.8, and also doubtful of the performance claims from Nismo. He ended up contacting the boys at Nismo and asking them to send down their official documentation of the car's performance haha (to be perfectly fair though the 2013 GTR does 0-100 kmh in a claimed 2.8 sec while the Z-tune did it in what is by today's standards a more 'lackluster' 3.8 sec) . I guess that's what happens when you're an ex-GT race driver with a garage full of million dollar exotics :I

  6. This thread is pretty old but I still thought I'd input. The first Z-tune to be brought into Australia was brought in about 6ish years ago. The owner went directly to Nismo Japan to purchase it (was imported by Powerplay imports in NSW) and only paid around $275,000 AUD for it brand new at the time (a steal if you ask me). The car was then sold onto a chap in Greece and exported some time later for a mere profit of around 45k. I say 'mere' because the few z-tunes that have popped up recently have had asking prices much higher than this....

On another note, to the person who was asking if there were only 30 z-tunes built, and to answer the rumours that production stopped at no.18, this is in fact incorrect. There were 20 Z-tunes made to commemorate the 20th Anniverasry of Nismo - makes sense if you think about it hey?!!

  7. If you want to drive gtr weddings you must first be initiated and take on all gtr owners one by one. Only then will you be worthy

LLOL if this involves my anatomical sword then count me out!!!.........unless you're a female GTR dfriver...

  8. Can you guys let this thread have some feedback because we used genuine ribbon (not paper or plastic as the vid says), and we still got the big V shaving mark on the bonnet and even on the A pillar. I don't think we exceeded the speed limit; but we travelled about 20 Kms.

Did you fix the ribbons on the sae way as in the vid Terry?? Also was i light scuffing that can be polished out or is it deeper scratching??

  9. Nissan HQ in the yokohama area sells nissan/nismo items. i cant remember how to get there tho.

This is true. They sell everything the Omori factory sells plus more - and they stock human sizes too ;)

  10. Excellent Jamie this is spot on. It's worth noting too however that the '"Nismo front bar" from above is sometimes also called the Nismo ver.1 front bar (and also the "s-tune" front bar as it appeared on the s1 and s2 models that were prototyped before the release of the z-tune), while the z-tune bar is also sometimes called the Nismo ver.2 front bar. You will see this a lot in Japanese publications and auction/sales info. There is definitely a difference between them though (and quite a significant difference too), which is why it sh!ts me when someone only gets the Nismo skirts and pods and claims they have a "full z-tune bodykit" :I

  11. ^in fairness, i do see a lot of S-tune bars mistaken for Z-tune bars

Hmmm they look completely different though. One has additional air vents adjacent to the front indicators, while the other doesn't have these and has a blended middle-lip section (ie.all 1 piece vs. front bar in 3 sections including the diffuser)

  12. The debate isn't really over love or gay people being able spending the rest of the lives together; they are already free to do this. The issue is the institution of marriage as a tradition for heterosexuality, concern over the term being applied to non-heterosexual couples, and recognition of said matrimony in the eyes of the law.

Spot on. The gay community would apparently like the same recognition as heterosexual married couples who procreate and have families. It's not enough to have the same rights in the eyes of the law. They actually want the term 'married' to be applicable to them. They also want the same religious recognition when all major religions that strictly follow doctrine & dogma do not condone homosexuality. Very strange. Anywho.....very off topic, but I wonder if there are actually any gays on this forum? Is it a long shot to wonder whether gays would be into something as masculine as tuned cars????

  13. LOL I've seen it 100 times. I don't know if people do it intentionally to BS their add and make their cars seem worth more, or because they genuinely don't know that those rear pods and side skirts came out long before the Z-tune, they are not specific to the Z-tune nor do they comprise a "full z-tune kit". Maybe they can't see that the front bars are so clearly different also???
