Hi Everyone, Unfortunately the time has come to sell my pride and joy as I’m going to be purchasing a new vehicle. I am the first person to own and register the vehicle in Australia and have owned it for approximately 3.5years. When I purchased the car it was completely standard except for a 3.5’ Apexi Exhaust and K&N Pod filter. Then it made 115rw kw’s and today it makes 208.8 rw kw’s with all of the dyno sheets and receipts to prove. 1993 Nissan Skyline R32 GTS-T Type M Full Respray in white (Original Colour) Late 1996 RB25 Engine and Gearbox with 62,xxx k’s Custom Tail shaft Fresh Rebuilt Diff with GTR Centre Excedy Single Plate heavy duty clutch X-Force Stainless 3’ Dump/Front Pipe 3’ High Flow Cat 3.5’ Apexi Cat Back Exhaust Bosch 044 Fuel Pump and Surge Tank Apexi Power FC and Factory RB25 Ecu Blitz Dual Spec R Boost Controller Blitz Front Mount Intercooler K&N Pod Filter Greddy Type S Bov Greddy Turbo Timer 18x8’ Wheels with Sumitomo Tyres Tein HA Damper & Height Adjustable Coilovers FET Strut Brace – Not Fitted Whiteline Pineapples – set at intermediate Front Camber Adjustable Upper Control Arm Bushes Kazama Adjustable Castor Rods – Not Fitted (Bush type) New Ball Joints and Rear Tie Rod Ends Genuine GTR Bonnet Fiberglass GTR Front Bumper Type M side skirts & rear pods Clear front indicators Momo & Factory Steering wheel Razo gearknob Autometer Boost gauge Autometer tacho – not fitted Genuine Skyline mats JVC Head Unit Pioneer 6’ and Kenwood 6’ speakers My car is fastidiously maintained and in the garage all week. Question About Improving Traction...
makaveli replied to makaveli's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks Phunky Monkey! Guys I have adjusted my shocks. I found out that they were set on the stiffest setting all round. So I set the rear to the softest setting and and the front is about 2-3 clicks away from the stiffest setting. I took the car out for a drive and on the road you can really notice the difference in the setting. Unfortunatly it was wet so I didn't get to test the traction. Hopefully I will let you guys know how it goes tonight. Im quite happy so far how springy the rear end is, hopefully it makes a good difference. Thanks for all the advice so far! Mark -
Question About Improving Traction...
makaveli replied to makaveli's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Guys thankyou very much for the feedback so far! I would like to ask if it would be worth getting rid of my 18's and getting some 17' alloys like some 33 gtr rims with some better tyres or something along those lines? I will definetly look into adjustable camber bushes for the rear, I do have some on the front. I like the tein coilovers when driving although maybe I can adjust the stiffness so they are a bit softer. Can you do this with HA's? That should give a good improvement! Would there be anything else besides changing the suspension setup? Thanks Mark -

Guys should I change the pineapple setting to drag? there are so many things to consider! Maybe we can work out some steps I can work with. Thanks Mark -
Question About Improving Traction...
makaveli replied to makaveli's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks Gordo, All I want to achieve is an allround set up,something that I can launch, and slide from time to time also. I know its a very fine line to balance on although I just want the best of both worlds. I don't think ill be doing any track work so a spare set of rims and tyres wont be worth the $$$. Maybe I can change my pineapple setting to drag, that may help a bit and put some better tyres on the back. Is there anyway I can get rid of the negative camber? Thanks Mark -
Question About Improving Traction...

Is it worth trying to fix the negative camber on the rear? Maybe I should fit 17's with better tyres, although I do like my wheels. -
Question About Improving Traction...
makaveli replied to makaveli's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Roy thankyou very much for your input! I just spoke to a contact I get my tyres from and they suggested that the inside of my tyres could be worn because of the rear having negative camber. They also told me that semi slick tyres don't last long at all! Im feeling a bit negative after hearing that information. I think my rear tyres are not worn, although maybe I can do something to fix the rear camber? I'll just have to keep looking into it. Please keep the feedback coming! Thanks Mark -

Sorry Roy, I havn't been yet although I want to improve it and then I'd like to go Would you guys think that just getting rear tyres would be ok? Thanks for all the input so far! Mark -
Question About Improving Traction...
makaveli replied to makaveli's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hi Sydneykid, Thanks for your input! Your guesses are very good (as always) My Hicas has been cancelled already Im not too sure exactly how low my car is. When you say 350mm and 340mm do you mean from the bumper? As I said I do like a lil bit of sliding so I just want to fix my setup so it has a bit more traction so when I go to calder or have some launches I can be faster. Would it be worth getting better tyres? It may be too costly changing suspension set ups, and I do like the way the car handles in the dry, its just launching where my problem is. Its so delicate launching, I ease off the clutch a 2,000rpm ease on the accelerator and get a bit of spin although I get spin through second. Thanks for all the advice so far. Mark -
That isnt posible with the standard turbo. I have the same mods in my 32 except for a power fc and I made 208 rw kws. If he has the standard turbo I think he is pullin ur leg. Thats my opinion. Mark

Question About Improving Traction...
makaveli replied to makaveli's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hi Guys, Thanks a heap for the advice. My tyres are fine at the moment so I might just wait until they are worn and replace them. Usually the back ones wear out first so I'll just buy 2 tyres at a time. What tyres would be good for traction, especially launches? (I like to spin n slide a lil too) Also the Bridgestone RE55's how much are they for a tyre and what type of tyre should I get (235's,245's etc...)? -

Thanks man that is great!!!! Such great news -
Hi Guys, I have been having trouble getting traction while launching and I would like to explore some different options I have to improve it. I have a r32 gts-t with an rb25 conversion, boost comes on heaps quicker than the rb20 and im currently making 208 rw kw's. The car is fitted with: - Tein HA coilovers - 18' x 8 wheels - Whiteline Pineapples - set at intermediate as I like a bit of sliding too. The tyres I question as they are really slippery in the wet when driving off boost. They are Summitomo 235's, directional tyres. Has anyone got any idea's? Thanks Mark

Hi Guys, It has been a little while since I started the thread. I just wanted to share something I found quite interesting. While I have been enjoying my fresh diff a lil while ago now I was chatting to my mechanic and he told me I had a GTR centre!!!! Could someone please tell me the advantages?? All I know is it doesn't have clutch packs like the gtst ones. Thanks Mark -
Hi Ed, As far as I know it will not fit, I was told the r33 dump pipe is a little bit bent at the end where it connects to the front pipe, different from the r32. You could pop by a wrecker and compare both stock ones for an idea or even give a local exhaust joint a call. Hope that helps Mark

Hi Guys, Under my cd player I have a little compartment with a flip back face, so I decided to install my turbo timer there. The ashtray compartment is a good one although I couldnt put it there because my boost controller is there Hope that helps Mark

A mate of mine on the forums know as Starionturbo had an r32 with an rb25 and he had a strut brace, so I guess I just have to find the right one. Thanks

Hi Guys, Im still on the search for a strut brace which will fit my 32. I have tried a couple and they wont fit with my rb25 in place. If anyone has anything please let me know. Thanks Mark

R33 Skyline For Sale (vic)
makaveli replied to Nismo_R31's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
I think the car is a series 1.5, in 96 the series 1 ended and the series 2 was released. Some models between this time had series 2 bumpers. Judging be the ignition module on the motor that is a series one motor. -

Hi Guys, I finally got my car back last thursday! Im very happy with the rebuild, works very well! In my situation the rebuild was the better option because my gears were a bit worn and the pinnion rod was snapped, so now my diff is nice and fresh. We will see how the lsd works over time and maybe look at an after market item. If so I'll know the rest of the diff is nice and fresh! I also got a 12 month warranty with the rebuild. Thanks for all you advice and opinions guys. Take Care Mark -
