  1. do you mean boost controller??
  2. I know most of the panels are different (other than some being made of aluminium). suspension is different, lots of bits don't fit but lots do. interior parts, oil filter, starter, indicators etc
  3. I would check the dip switch first, as this what leads to the rotary switch to break (almost melt) by the look of the switch it could be possible to repair it depending on the extent of damage (how melted the contacts are)
  4. Thanks for the quick reply I agree, however he does have all the pieces at hand (manifold etc) (r31) and pretty much for nothing. will it come to pieces? (airflow meter)
  5. One of my friends is installing a Vg30 turbo on to an N/A RB30, he has been advised to put the airflow meter AFTER the turbo outlet (near the throttle body) as it will have a more accurate reading (boosted inlet temp), I was wondering if (which I have my doubts) if the airflow meter can withstand even mild boost.
  6. I always thought that speaker distortion is what causes speakers to blowup, the passing of DC voltage over the coils?
  7. The switch for the headlights, if you look at the design is prone to ware and tear as it switches the full current for the headlights rather than using a relay. It took me 2 headlight switches and a lot swearing (and no driving at night) to figure it out.
  8. Thanks for that, ill have a shop around. I was looking at a trust one for $1800 with remote oil filter thing
  9. Just wondering does anyone know if the r33 GTR comes with an oil cooler and if so does it fit the R32 GTR as my oil temp is getting quite hot and is noticbly reducing performance. I'm thinking of getting a Trust one or something like that, just c ing what my options are thanks
  10. Mine does that as well, but the car almost stalls when the air-con kicks in, then it disengauges and the rev's go up accordingly, I thought it might be the compressor seizeing??
  11. No he means brake cleaner some of the guys at Audi told me about that, you can clean heaps of stuff with it (throttle bodies etc. even grease off clothes! as it leaves no residue ) It's almost like a dry cleaning agent.
  12. Apparently in Vic a guy (speed camera operator) got baseball battered (because there not cops in the camera cars), due to some really pissed off owner who got done several times, apparently by the same car. risky job
  13. Brody, that "crackle type noise " could be detonation, mine used to do that at high'ish revs:( , I noticed the car was also a lot quieter around the front of the motor after I replaced my cam belt, and guides, if this helps, or may spark an idea?
  14. Just got my car back after booking it in for a clutch and cambelt replacement, while they were dumping the oil out of my gearbox they noticed a half tooth off my main input shaft sprocket, had stuck it's self to the drain plug. $1850 later my car is fixed. Just wondering if anyone knows if this is caused by wear and tear or just pure abuse of the drivetrain?, i'm pretty gentle with my box, a few hard changes but thats it.
  15. Mine does that sometimes, i think your talking about the CAT (exhaust) heat light
  16. Thanks, for the much needed info:)
  17. Just wondering if anyone knows weather any starters from other Aus cars are interchangable with an R32 Gts-T manual?? done an archive search with no luck thanx
  18. I have found the standared clutch fan and assosiated assessory's are very efficiant at keeping appropriate temp, with out 2 much tax on the overall power avaliable. My 2c teka
  19. I had the same problem, not quite stalling through, just erratic idle, enough 2 cut mt stereo from playing:mad: (not good when a cd is playing, every traffic light) I found it was the AFM, I would check every thing else that costs less money first
  20. yep the RB30 one fits the RB20
  21. I read about this a few years ago, did not know if it would eventuate, it does make sense, 42v would be more efficient at providing the needed current that all the latest body computers and, ECU's, Sat Navigation etc.etc Some of the proto typed BMW's are drawing so much current that the alternators are water cooled.
  22. sounds like your talking about doing the diognostic's on the DELCO engine managment, never heard of it on a Skyline through, tell me if u do get it to work.
