  1. Stock height with Ken Style Front Bumper ... Always scrape if I don't drive slowly and angled!
  2. Yeah that's the only drawback with the V. It is quite low. I had my car now for nearly 2 years and enjoyed every moment of it!
  3. Hey there.. selling your V? What happened?
  4. Real bummer guys.. I just found out I have to work late Wed night, so can't make it.
  5. Hi Rob, I got 17" OEM with Falken Tyres ZIEX ZE912 if you're interested. I don't know if that would clear your brembos. Plenty of thread. PM me if you're keen
  6. Hi playaz! Welcome! I have the xforce on my V35...
  7. Yeah..I would also like to know if the "droning" effect is normal in aftermarket 2.5" exhaust.
  8. Your best bet would be the wreckers..
  9. Yeah thanks Greg.. I should have read your comments before heading up to the RTA.... didn't realise I had to return the plate. Thought about waiting 10 mins and going back saying both plates were stolen but it would probably be the same chick at the counter...
  10. Far out... $99 to get replacement slimline plates! $99 and the time wasted to get to the RTA !! For some s$tup1d l05er ... Sorry for the rant!!
  11. Hi Guys, My wife's Subaru Liberty's been vandalized while parked!!!! The front registration plate has been ripped off and now there are holes in the front bumper where the existing plate holder screws used to be.. However the dilemma is the mounting holes on the front bumper are broken? I don't know how to mount the replacement plates.. Any suggestions?
  12. Hi Terry, put me on the reserve list if anyone drops out. Thanks!
  13. Thanks guys
  14. Thanks! So, running 245s all round is ok for VDC. Is that good however for handling/driving? Or you won't notice anything? OEMS 225/50 17" front and 235/50 17" rear ... Using http://www.alloywheels.com/Tyre_Calculator, it appears I need to go 245/40 18" for Front which gives me a -0.29 difference, which should be ok. However for the Rears, using 245/40 gives a -1.77% and 245/45 gives a +1.82% difference. Which combo is best?
  15. Hi Guys.. got myself a set of 350z 18x8 track wheels to replace my 20"... Couple of questions after speaking to my tyre guy .. 1) He recommended running 245/45 18 front and rear... I read some earlier posts about not doing this as it might interfere with the car's VDC controls? 2) At the moment, I got the Ken Style Front Bumper on Stock suspension and as it is right now, I scrapped almost every time! Dropping to 18's .. even with the increased sidewall .. means dropping the car lower?? By the way PN-Mad, Front Sways are Hard and Rear Soft! Thoughts from the experienced folk out there?
  16. Yeah, I'm thinking about that myself. Miss the sunroof/moonroof option on my maxima .. any recommendations for NSW?
  17. Well I'm interested if there's a spot left.. or any cancellations!
  18. Just a thought... is there a reason to run staggered size front and rear? If you get both 8" rims.. can run 245s front and rear. Would that be a good idea?
  19. I like the finishing touch .. lol!
  20. Thanks Mat. Your idea about power coating the OEMs is brilliant! I might do that! I think for short term .. I might go back to my OEM 17's for the time being.. Bucketing down in Sydney yesterday.. Went into a roundabout slowly ! Yes Slowly with family onboard and my front tyres lost grip, understeered but got it back.. but not comfortable with it. Did it 2x! Tyres tyres tyres..
  21. Thanks SmokeyC34. This thread however, is not about me persay. Its a general question aimed to get some direction for newbies to the modding world. Knowledge can't replace experience.. and that's what I'm looking for, advice from the experienced. Don't get me wrong. Thanks for all the comments guys. Its been good.. but.. I'll like to keep it away from my situation.. (don't link the threads) I know the budget of $1000 is a laugh, I came up with the amount for 2 reasons.. one.. I was asked many times what my budget was and two, found a couple of ebay post for 18" OEM Infinity wheels for that much or less... so I thought, lets throw this hypothetical amount into the discussion and see what comes up. Of course.. the tyres on those sets was either balding or cheapies... which I still think would be better than the cheapies on my 20"s.. I'm trying to achieve, one thing. What's the best tyre/wheel combination .. vs common size tyres for the best bang for the buck. I'm taking the analytical approach to researching this topic! Lol! No.. I'm not an analyst! If everyone agrees with your comment "To say you're researching to buy wheels based on which tyre size is most readily available and well priced is a waste of time" ... I'll go with your advice.
  22. Thanks PN-Mad.. you hit the nail on the head! That's the reason for this thread.. to find out best combination of width/height/size vs common tyre sizes I know about the rolling diameter/aspect ratio .. but what I don't have is experience.... I haven't played around with different size wheels and tyres to have a "feel" for what's good against theory .. and of course.. no knowledge of tyre prices.. unless I know what I'm looking for ... With that in mind I can more or less know how to budget for a really good tyre and then start looking for rims in that size..
  23. Hmm.. ok.. Thanks. what about Sidewall.. what's a good compromise .. 35 on 19s? or 45 on 18s? I will be looking for second hand rims at this stage... budget atm $1000 ( i know that's low .. ) .. too early in the year..
  24. rofl! you guys r funny! thanks for the responses btw.. ok... after much **soul searching** .. its going to be a street car with occasional corners .. 30/70 between looks/handling .. If I keep 20"s, upgrade Rears to good tyres - it will still be skittish on country roads, cheaper short term.. If I downgrade to 18"s.. I get access to better tyres ... $$$ on the short term.. Of course "how long is a piece of string" ... but I've trying to work out a budget .. thus this thread about best wheel size against common tyres for prices.. then I can start looking / comparing.. I would love Rays wheels.. but I think that would be out of my price range.. hard to get CFO approval on this!
