  1. cheers Ewan, i think the 1st pic are just standard Series 2 lights? but the second one is perfect!! basically they just have a chrome backing instead of the black, and it really gives the car a cleaner and different look. if you have a look in the recent ACT postabout the $10000 4 door by KNYTESTORME, you'll see the pics of the chrome headlights....and a few posts from me bugging him for them i'll attach a link from the thread.
  2. how much for the Teins? i know u said more info to be posted, i just wanna get in 1st. how low can they go also?
  3. $109 is good, i take it that you went for the base model battery? i think they have the best one for like $149 or something. i think i might have to get mine checked, alot of the time in the last few months the car seems to have no charge and barely starts!? the other wierd thing is that my parkers always stay on while the car is on. and my dashlights too, i think i must have cross-wired something when i installed my high mount brake light.
  4. Ok guys, heres the final result. Clutch: exedy heavy duty ceramic button clutch, with PVR plate= $378 Shipping: $41 overnight through TNT, ( i will never use these guys again, terrible ) Fitting: Fitted by Joe from Skyline Performance $310. Overall: $739 im really happy with how much i saved, and how good the clutch is, and Joe was good enough to take a bit extra off the final price of fitting aswell!!! the car runs really well now, all i have to do is stop stalling it at every sat of lights lol. and restrain myself for the next 1000kms to let it bed in. once again thanks to everyone for their help and advice!!! Andrew.
  5. Peter from Quikeze never turned up at Joes, and he hasnt called or shown any interest in helping me. i'll send a letter in the next few weeks from my barrister, stating the damage, quotes on repairing the damage, if the damages arent fixed, it will go to small claims. i will have to find out where i can get the pod fixed though. Joe said that there is a guy in Fyshwick that does plastic welding and it should cost around $100 to have it fixed welded, but i'd prefer to have it replaced. so i'll try to find this welder but otherwise im just going to have to hunt for a new rear pod. which will cost heaps, so i may be better off getting some aftermarket pods. any thoughts??
  6. haha lol at sigsputnik!!! yeah interstate buying can be a hassle, its a bugger just getting to see the car let alone passing it through rego.can i have your handbrake boot out of your old line?? lol all the best with finding one mate!
  7. yeah, what ewan said, why not get some 4dr headlights? the chrome backing looks awesome!!
  8. i take it tanks are not included
  9. cheers for the kind words nik. dont worry though dude, its not asif its your fault. they asked me bout my car i told them and R33 and that it was pretty low, so i was kinda surprised to see a non flatbed rock up. anyway, its out at Joe's now, the flatbed came within half an hour and the guy was really nice and helpfull, the front bar was bout to scrape on the way up so he got some thin wood planks to lift the front wheels, so no scraping:@) anyway i talked to my brother(he's a barrister) and he said i have no liability and that they will have to pay for the damges. Peter(i think his name is) who owns the company sounded pretty pissed, i dont think its at me, just that it happened. he's going out to Joe's soon to look at the damage and he'll let me know. i called Jerry out at J-racing and he said it may just be better to replace the everything with an aftermarket rear bar because it will be so hard/expensive to get a new pod. hmmm
  10. UPDATE: as the rope we had wasnt sufficient enough to do the job i called a tow truck at about 7:30, anyway as per niks reference i called quikeze and i was lucky enough to have a truck dropping off only a few hundred metres from my house, so he came within 10minutes. anyway im not going into detail (yet) but after much messing round and manouvering my left rear pod(next to rear bar) was ripped off and snapped completely down the middle. its just been one huge fu*k up after another lately and this has capped it off(hoping no more to come) anyway a flat bed will be hear within an hour, (as the other one was a different type) i dont even know if a flat bed will get it up as its so low. anyway i'll post more info when i know whats happening.
  11. $113 mate, if ur just going with the same rego. if ur changing the rego e.g. to YLD-R33 its way more. but if your just getting black slimlines $113 should be all your up for, it may be more now though.
  12. well im impressed!!!! getting mine for 15k was awesome so i take my hat off to you (goes and finds hat, puts on hat, then removes it) so about swapping the headlights?? ;@)
  13. nah Nismo, i should be able to hook it up easily enough, but as the bar has been recently fully silver meshed i wont be able to take the rope through the bar, and it may not wanna go under without tugging the bar upward as its driven. i think i'll just wrap it around one hand and steer with the other, i may tear my arm off but as long as i dont hurt the front bar i'll be happy lol!!! and no u cant all come watch, i'll film it and we can all watch it on the next cruise lol, it'll save everyone having to get up early haha. my only concern now is getting the rope, dad said he had plenty but its being used at the moment (he's a builder) so im gonna have to track some rope down somewhere in the next 10hours..hmmmm
  14. so whats done ti it and how did you get it so cheap??? i picked mine up very cheaply but no where near 10k
  15. how did you manage to get that for 10k??? is it missing an engine? i take it that you have the headlights with chrome backing? if so wanna swap them for mine??? ;@P
  16. haha yeah, oh if anyone finds a red nismo front bar the the parkway tommorow morning, it'll be mine lol!!!
  17. aba-bob said: When the front car takes off remember to take up the slack very slowly at first then take off. Also remember to accelarate smoothly yeah well he's towed a heap of cars b4 so i trust him. so whats the best place to attach the rope??
  18. hey guys, seeing as i have to get my car towed out to charnwood tommoz(clutch being fitted) i thought it would be fine to get the NRMA to do it for me as i was quite sure that they towed for free for 20kms(im in chapman). anyway apparently i am only a Basic member or some crap so i only get 8 free kms so i will have to get it out there either proffesionally or by my dad. so im trying to save myself the extra $50 or so to get it taken on a truck. would it be safe to have my dad tow me with his car? or is this dangerous? i would have thought it wasnt the safest bet, but if its not to dangerous then should i do it? he seems to think its fine but im not so sure. if it is ok then where abouts should i attach it? i know its kinda pov but ive already saved heaps on getting the clutch and having it installed so its gonna shit me to have to fork out more cash to have it towed, but if its the safest way then i guess $50 is worth it. hmmm?
  19. count me out on friday nights. otherwise im usually available most nights. would be stoked to go for a cruise, clutch will be done by friday at the latest.
  20. step 1, bitch slap your nephew. step 2, just give novus a call, im sure they'll be more than happy to give u some advice. they will know whats best anyway.
  21. id definatly agree with that!!! i see way more wine red lines than any others!!!
  22. ok just got final price. Exedy heavy duty caramic button clutch. $400 shipped to canberra. im bery happy with the price. ive called Ed and he's agreed to take his origianl quote down to $400, so for $800 all up shipped and fitted im pretty happy. now all i need to know if its actually my clutch thats the problem lol!!!
  23. ok ive sourced one from melbourne, its an exedy heavy duty ceramic button clutch. for $400 shipped. i just hope that it is my clutch that is blown, and not something else, i dont want to find out that after fitting it that it was just my slave cylinder. but seeing as it grabs occasionally but most often just revs out in whatever gear ive selected i cant see what else it could be.
  24. ok,im just about to find a final price on an exedy heavy duty clutch from melbourne. its a ceramic button clutch that i think will be very good. price should be under $400. my only remaining question is, is it definatly my clutch??? i dont want to get it and fit it and find out it was the slave cylinder or something. i was told by dave at f&f that my clutch was on the way out pretty soon. then on my way to belco, up a hill i put my foot down and it revved straight out to redline and by the time i arrived the car smelt really dirty. and just b4 i got home after a round about i put it into second and it revved out then grabbed....3rd=rev out, 4th=rev out. i nursed it home in 1st even though it still occasionally slipped a little. i then put it flat on my driveway, put it in 3rd and tried to take off, it simply revved straight out asif i had my foot on the clutch. and after the round about the car started smelling really bad again. so based on this info, is it my clutch????
  25. somehwhere warm?? in canberra? in the winter?? ummmm....? im out of ideas! im cool to meet up, just not on friday nights.
