  1. Well after picking up a somewhat massive bill to get my POS AU falcon sorted after a mate of mine decided it would be a good idea to drive it on a flooded road I asked the workshop if they had ever had a V35 on their dyno before Lucky for me they had not and were curious as to what a somewhat stock one such as mine would do anyhow here it is 03 Auto stock std except for a nismo cat back 170rwkw Guess i cant complain being an auto with just a cat back one thing that freaked me out is when I got back in the car after it had come off the dyno after a few runs was my esp ABS and slip light were stuck on!!!! I turned the car off and on a couple of times and they would not go out. I then noticed that the car was in Snow mode and after flicking it back to the normal middle position and re starting it everything went back to normal. I wonder if it was doing all its runs in snow mode? which seems to make the accellorator somewhat unresponsive? and for shits and giggles I have also posted my AU POS LPG AUTO with 642,390kms on the clock not 64,239kms like the dyno print out says over half a million clicks and still going somewhat
  2. I sware mine was an open diff to but a mate who was watching me said that both where spining when I was on the burnout pad maybe @ a certin speed/rpm both wheels will just engage
  3. just checked out some of the vids from the guy who made all the DIY service videos Where do you get the crushable copper washers? are they a pretty regular thing to pick up from repco/super cheep? is there a particular size? not to self book car in with nissan when I need to change the plugs..... what a funkround of a job all the crap that has to be removed and then re-installed changing the plugs on my SR was so easy....
  4. So how much lighter is an auto 350z? I thought auto V35s would be around 1600kgs particularly premium models with all the extra bells and wistles
  5. what times do people normaly get out of a stock auto v35 anyway?
  6. Hmm well ill keep my eyes out for a good priced pair of 17" rims to throw on the back for next time I wouldn't have to worry about the fronts however to get any benifit just the rears right?
  7. Well I decided that I had nothing better to do tonight so I took the V35 to the drags best pass was a 14.546 @ 97.4 MPH with a .789 reaction and a 2.32 60ft time outside temp according to the car was 31deg I discovered that traction control sucks and = a 15 sec time I also discovered that sequential shift works best for quick runs and that even though my red line is 6500 its happy to go to 7000 and still not hit the limiter ... :S didn’t rev it out that far again since I dont want to do any damage I thought my car being an auto had an open diff, turns out its happy to spin both wheels Car still managed to spin some of 1st gear with 275 35 r 19s on the back All in all im pretty happy with a 14.5 considering the car is a comfy leather arm chair compared to my old 180sx Car was loaded with a 3/4 full petrol tank, spare wheel, jack and all the other stuff normaly in the car From what I can tell car is stock apart from the Nismo cat back
  8. Cheers dude, Are people on here going mineral or syntheric in their cars? guess it depends on how big ur wallet is feeling @ the time?
  9. Hi guys wondering what would be some of the better oils to stick in the VQ35 when i do a service on it in the future I live in Townsville and its freaking hot up here... as in the car will say its 33deg outside @ 8:30 in the morning so Im wondering about what viscosity I should go with Car currently has 56xxxxK's on it and I have no idea what oil was put in it during compliance :S "hopefully not home brand" or if the oil was even changed @ all By the way where the hell is the oil filter! and how the hell do you get to it? Theres next to no room in the V35s engine bay compared to my old SR20 180sx or my AU L6 falcon!!!
  10. I have noticed on my car that even though the windows are fully up, when you close the door they move up a tiny bit more about 1 cm or so i guess this is done to ensure a tighter seal betwean the doors/windows and the outside confused me the 1st couple of time i heard it go outside the car open and close the door and u will see what i am talking about
  11. Argh.... I hate it when I have to play with eletrical things on cars :S ill have a go on my next day off next week to disconect it
  12. hmm since were on the topic of rims anyone know what the largest size offered for a V35 was? Im sure iv read somewhere that in the US G35s had the option on a 19 x 8.5" rim Im wondering because im pretty sure the rims on my car are 19 x 11" ..... and I dont want to upset my insurance company If there def was a 8.5" wide rim then ill be fine because QLD transport says that max width can be 1.3 times the width of the largest stock rim size wich would = 11.05"
  13. Anyone know if the delaer fitted alarm system is activated/disarmed by the BCM code that would be put in the new key? or is that something different?
  14. I thought that with the odomoter being digital that the kms would be recorded by the engines ECU or something else rather than the dash itself?
  15. Well I was going to import a V35 but then the dollar when to shit so I bought localy, I only wanted to spend around 25k max As much as I would have loved to buy a 6 speed after driving my 180sx for 5 years which was a 5 speed I could not justify spending so much extra on the 6 speed option when after all the 5 speed auto is a reasonable setup if your not going to take your car to the track, Im sure theres a buyer out there that would pay the extra but its just a waiting game untill the right buyer finds you
  16. Well i know that yours is a 6 speed manual however I bought my 03 premium model with woodgrain, leather, bose, 19" deep dish rims, nismo zhust system and 5 months rego for $26500 just over a week ago people arent cheap, their tight asses I should know since I am and so was the guy who bought my 180SX In the end its a buyeres market be prepared to sit tight and wait if you want that sort of $ for it Iv even seen V35s advertised as low as $23900 on carsales in sydney
  17. I got around to having a look @ my kick panel today and took a pic Lucky for me my numbers and sticker look almost the same as FlyingEL Tom could you please check out the picture I have attached and let me know if you can work the same magic you did for FlyingEL Cheers Stuart
  18. you can put my name down for a translation disc when they come out
  19. NAME: Stuart WHERE: Townsville RIDE: V35 Skyline 350GT, silver, 19" deep dish rims, nismo zhust, 1 of possibaly only 2 up this way ABOUT: Got rid of my drift spec 308rwkw 180sx for something more civilised with comfy leather seats, Iv also got a Kawasaki Ninja ZX636 if I want to go stupidly fast. Quote of the day waiting @ the traffic lights from the driver next to me "is that thing turbo?"
  20. No such luck with the steel tag, i know what ur talking about I have a set of keys for my Kawasaki ZX636 and the master code key has the metal tag on its key ring Ill take a pic of the numbers in question and e-mail it along with all the other details to Nissan JPN and hopefully should get lucky with a responce that I want to hear
  21. Ill check out the FAQ on the e-mail to japan had a good read through the key thread and saw an address there seems like one member got it his/her key sorted but another didint when they e-mail'd nissan something about a code not being on the sticker on cars made after 2001 :S from what I was reading in the paperwork the car came with the only thing I think they drained/changed was the brake fluid.... nothing about any other fluids thanks again
  22. Cheers for the info Chris I'll have a look @ the alarm system on my days off work next week and see if i feel confident pulling it apart As for the cruise control ill hold off on that for the moment as Id sooner have someone who knows what their doing hook it up, and up here in Townsville finding someone who knows what they are doing is hard thing. Im good for doing an oil change on a car and thats about it when it comes to working on them and as for the V35 i haven’t even looked yet to see where the oil filter is As for the key considering I cant read or speak Japanese how do I get in contact with Nissan Japan? sorry if this has been covered before haven’t done a search Once I get in contact with them and give them the VIN will they be able to code the key and send it to me all ready to go? Also my cars now got 55K on it and i have no records of whats been serviced on it, what things might I need to get done now or in the future to keep everything running the way they should Thanks
  23. how did you know my car has a factory alarm system? :S there are a couple of stickers on the glass saying there is an alarm system in the car as far as removing it goes whats involved in that? I have set it off by opening up the car using the key and not pressing the button on the key but all the noise is from the inside of the car As far as keys go iv only got the 1 and after browsing through the other thread i better take good care of the one that Iv got shogun car company did the compliance on the car
  24. was going to import but since our $ got its ass kicked by the Yen I bought localy
