  1. 20th suits me well. It's actually a weekend when I'm home!
  2. Hmmm, I think half my problem is that it gets driven to and from work in peak hour traffic with stop/start driving for 30 mins. We're thinking about getting a cheap little car for a work runabout.
  3. There's heaps of room in there. Having coilovers makes a huge difference I reckon. How about the front? Do you get any rubbing? Got any pics?
  4. Nice one. Pretty surprising you haven't got it retuned or anything. I just filled up today. 410km and 54L (13.1L/100km). Not brilliant.. I really want to get a wideband AFR meter and see if I can lean it out a bit more for normal driving. Hardly gunned it at all during the last tank.
  5. I don't have the auto lights on my Stag (or the outside temp for that matter - S1). Oh well
  6. Nice! This car is turning out to be a very nice example indeed. I agree with everyone else, the RB26 is lacking a bit down low for the heavy car. Keep us posted on your engine build
  7. You can find out the outside temp? This is news to me. I'll have to try it. What does the auto switch for the head lights look like?
  8. I thought it was for climate control. I have the sensor, but no auto on my headlights. Skylines have it too (and my old Pulsar GTI-R)
  9. Yeah CCL11QE, that's very impressive. Care to share what's been done to your car. Best I'm getting is around 420-450 (12-14L/100km on average) in my 260RS.
  10. Very good points there Thelen. If I'm driving for efficiency, I'll generally shift just before it comes on boost (not as much fun). I think their idea of L/HP makes some sense. Lets say you want to accelerate at rate x. This requires y hp. You can make that hp by either low revs and high throttle or high revs, low throttle. So as they say, you use less L/HP with low revs/high throttle because the engine is not pulling against a partially closed throttle. I believe this is part of the reason Diesels are so efficient... they have no throttle. The ECU will have some throttle enrichment every time the throttle is opened. I dunno if this is gonna totally blow the whole idea out of the water. Interesting concept though all the same..
  11. I get somewhere between 12-14L/100km in my Stagea 260RS (RB26DETT with Vipec ECU). Mainly city driving with a couple of kays of 100 zone each day. I still think I can tune cruising a bit more to get her a bit leaner. I was reading this interesting article on Autospeed. They say that running the engine at low revs with large throttle is the best for fuel efficiency. So when accelerating use plenty of throttle, but change gears at low revs. I've been trying this in the Stagea and on my last tank I got around 12L/100km which is as good as it gets in the Stag, but I'd need to do more testing to be sure. Interesting read all the same... Part 1: http://www.autospeed.com.au/cms/A_111510/article.html Part 2: http://www.autospeed.com.au/cms/A_111511/article.html
  12. Yeah mate, one day.... At the moment we have sacrificed. I wanted a GTR and misses wanted 4 doors, so we ended up with a 260RS. Hahaha. Still a damn nice car, but not quite a GTR
  13. Damn it, you guys make me want to sell my Stagea 260RS (half GTR with an extra 200kg) just to find out what you're on about
  14. Spotted a Blue C34 on Sandgate Road, near Toombul shops heading away from the city at 4:20.Looked very tidy. Also spotted a red C34 on Sandgate Road, Northgate heading towards the city at about 5:30
  15. Very interesting. Hmmmm so much I could do with that Strange that they use an analogue odometer, when the stock one is digital. I wonder what the button on the right is for. One on the left would be to reset the counter.
  16. Yeah, sorry I meant 18x9.5. Yeah I used that same website. Got it bookmarked Thanks for the offer. That would really put the issue at rest. Don't think I'll have time to drive to your place this week. Rediculously busy working on the house
  17. Oh yeah, I measured that there is currently about 27mm between the outer guard and the standard 260RS rim (17x7 +30) in the front. So going to 18x8.5" +12 offset would extend out an extra 50mm which means it would sit out past the guard by 23mm. If I went to 18x8.5" + 20 offset (what is recommended for GTRs) it would hang out 15mm pass the outer guard. Not sure how you guys have managed to do it. Maybe I didn't measure it properly... Parked the car on flat ground, lined a spirit level up with the outer guard and made sure it was vertical and then measured the distance to rim.. 27mm
  18. Damn. I am having nothing but wheel dilemmas. We decided to go with Work XT7s in 18x8.5". I found out that they come in +32 offset from Japan or there is the option of +25 offset out of the US. I worked out that +25 offset would fit better, so I tracked down a local guy with connections to the US and he ordered a set. Then it turns out his damn supplier sells the set he had on hold for me!!! So now I'm waiting on my money back. It sounds like +25 offset are very hard to get. So now I have the option of waiting a few months for a set to come up (and chucking some crap tyres on the Stag to keep her roadworthy) or I bite the bullet and get a set in +32 offset from Japan. What do you guys reckon? I guess the other option is to go to 18x9.5". They come in +12 or +20. I know MIKE and Darrin are running these. I'm a bit worried they will stick out too far in the front. Darrin has a 34 front, so may have a bit more clearance. MIKE did you have to do anything special to run 18x9.5" +12? Any problems with rubbing? What tyres? I have stock 260RS suspension. So no camber correction or anything. Mmmmm 9.5 all round would be tough. Am I dreaming?
  19. OK. I can confirm that my car is running 225/45/R17 on the standard 260RS rims
  20. Unfortunately I was away with work and someone else took the car to the tyre shop for me. The tyre shop had ordered in some 235/45/R17s for me and then when they took the car in, they rang me and said that it was illegal to fit these tyres to a 7" rim. That's all I know... I'm away again, so can't confirm the tyre size that's on there now. I've asked the misses to check for me. She'll get back to me soon. I'm pretty sure they are 225/45/R17s and they are the tyres the compliance centre put on for me.
  21. I asked a tyre shop to fit 235/45s and they refused. They said they are illegally too wide to fit on the 7" rims.
  22. I'm 90% certain (can't confirm, not at home), that my Autech has 225/45/R17 tyres on it at the moment. Standard Autech rims (about to be replaced - horray!).
  23. Well I've bitten the bullet and ordered my new wheels. Getting a set of Work Emotion XT-7s in 18x8.5" +25 offset. It turns out that +25 is only made for the USA market EVO 9s and 10s. It has not been released in Japan. I'm getting mine out of the US. Should be hear in a week or so (I hope). Can't wait. I'll post pics
  24. I think I'm pretty good with car stuff. Funny story though... when I was about 18 (young and nieve) I lived at home with the folks. Was driving along in the work ute and van pulled up next to me. The guy leans out the window and goes "Hey mate, wanna buy a set of home speakers. We've got them in the van. You can have a look". I go "sure I'll have a look". The guys speeled some shit about selling excess stock for their boss who worked for xxxx hi-fi company. Ended up spending $500 or something for a set of floor standing speakers that probably wouldn't have fitted in my bedroom anyway. Straight after I bought them I thought "What the hell did I buy them for". I ended up dropping them at my mate's place around the corner and set them up. He paid me $400 for them, so only lost $100 phew... Turns out the serial number plate was blank on the speakers. I googled the brand and found out that people all around the country had been hit by the white van selling this brand... My mate still has them by the way. A couple of months ago (10 years on from this story), a van pulls up next to me in the Bunnings carpark "Hey mate, wanna buy a projector". I replied NO!
  25. Far out, what a weapon. I wish my 260RS had your engine
