G'Day All, In the next couple of months, I'll be hunting the market for a clean R32 GTR. My budget would be maximum $15,000 - $16,000. The body work must be relatively clean. I'd like the engine to have some basic work done at a minimum with turbo upgrades (common 2860R's seem to be the go). There's lots of good examples at the moment attempting to fetch the low 20's however, from time to time you see the odd one pop up asking 16-19k with exactly what I'm looking for. If you have one or know of any, feel free to send me a PM and we'll take a look. Cheers.

Excessive Tyre Wear - R34 Gtr

Fellas, I've got some crazy track camber spec setup on my R34 GTR as you can see in the above pictures. In turn, this causes stupid amounts of wear on my tyres! What is the ideal camber settings for a R34 GTR? Stock settings or slightly better? Opinions please! -

Learn something new every day, excellent! The previous owner states it is only displaying boost and speed only.. interesting. Anyway of checking the AVCR to see if it is controlling the boost? -

Don't think it has the stock fuel pump.. the one in there makes some noise (squirt squirt every 3-4 seconds). If it is indeed running 1 bar boost then it has a f**kload of potential left in it! When full boost is hit, the MFD reads 1.4 bar (from memory) and starts flashing red however, that could just be the limitation of the MFD.. I'll have a look next time on the Apexi AVCR to get the exact reading. Out of curiousity, why do Racepace choose to not run EBCs? -

Hadouken, yes it is. I cut/paste the relevant details above ^^ The stuff which isn't listed are items like: - Fuel pump? - Boost controller? -

N1GTR, I don't know the in's and out's of my GTR as I didn't build it - not GTR's in general. Anyway, I've moved this vehicle to WA from VIC so Racepace isn't an option. There are still some very good workshops around here anyhow. -

Does removing the MAF's make a big difference? I'm currently running 2x Nismo AFM's and an Apexi PFC as the ECU.. Wouldn't going down this path make very little difference.. or? -

I've been told by the previous owner it's running 20psi however, I wouldn't really know how to confirm that. Car doesn't have an EBC so I'm assuming it's has some type of boost control valve in the engine bay.. Any way to confirm? -

Actually listening to Bosch 044 pumps on youtube, I don't think it's one of them.. Definately does not make that loud noise when ignition is on! It makes a slight zim noise (can barely hear it) when I switch the ignition on for a split second then goes quiet. On idle every 3-4 seconds you can hear it make the cool squirt noise from the rear. Any ideas? -

To be honest I'm not 100% sure. From the sound of it: a single in-tank 044.. makes a little "squirt/push" sound every 4 seconds.. would that be right? -

Haha.. what can I say.. HKS 2.8L, T04Z and external gate in an R34 GTR coupled with HKS V-CAM makes me wet.. just a little. However, if I can push more boost and get a better tune (which I'm sure is very possible) out of my current setup keeping it within safe limits, then I'll do so. Anybody have opinions on how to make my current setup even safer? What should I be replacing/adding to ensure complete reliability? -

MrStabby, Could you please link me to this sticky thread? I can't seem to find it. Thanks. -
G'Day All, Recently acquired a very nice 1999 R34 GTR V-spec (ex TPG34R) and the power bug has bitten already. The GTR is already quite modified with some nice fruit and drives quite nice however, I'd like to get into the 550awhp+ league. On the current conservative tune, it's pushing approx 450rwhp and 410awhp. The internals of the RB26DETT as far as I'm aware are completely stock (disregarding the HKS V-CAM). Do I go a big single? Do I keep the turbos I have? Do I upgrade to -10's? Do I keep the same setup and just stroke to 2.8L courtesy of HKS? I do like the responsiveness of the current setup however, if modifying further will in turn make the response a tad more laggy it really wouldnt bother me, as long as boost comes on by 3400rpm I'm happy (HKS V-CAM should make this happen even with a big single I've been told!) I'd like to keep the car as reliable as possible so I'm thinking before doing any further modifications, I think it's wise to put some 'failsafe' gear on it such as a Sump Baffle, etc? Opinions here would be great! <Insert usual stuff that goes wrong on 34 GTR's once you push the power I'm pushing+ here) What should I be looking at next? All opinions are most welcome! R34 Gtr Exhaust Carbon Heat Shield
r0bstr_ replied to r0bstr_'s topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
To reiterate - the exhaust carbon heat shield piece fits ontop of the rear bumper where the exhaust sticks out; it does not touch the exhaust. -
G'Day Fellas, Chasing an R34 GTR exhaust carbon heat shield to slap on the back of my GTR just above the exhaust tip. I've done a google search and found some cheap crap on eBay however anybody know where to source or can recommend a decent one? Cheers.

Excessive Tyre Wear - R34 Gtr
r0bstr_ replied to r0bstr_'s topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Cheers Geoff. It's either the Dunlop SP Sport Max TT or the Michelin Pilot Super Sport (I hear this is an excellent tyre and even slightly better than the Dunlop.. however, if I can't source it cheap the Dunlop will do! ) -

Any of you had experience with the following brands: Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT or Nitto Invo I hear the Nitto Invo are the next best thing to come out and apparently #1 in America? I also hear the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT are quite good but loud tyres? Any feedback fellas? -
