  1. Guys, Once I have a pic taken, I can show u my white dials, they light up green or blue and can be dimmered at night...cool!!!!! all credits go to the previous owner!!!! I always did wonder how he did it...... Just a quick question to all those driving an auto, do your speedo's go up to 180 km/hour only???? I just cant figure that one out....hmmm.... And please, dun hang crap on me for having an auto R33....afterall, I do drive an Impreza 2.5L RS (Manual) as a company car!!!! :headspin: :headspin: :headspin: :headspin: :headspin:
  2. Sumo, Any chance u can do a pictorial tutorial for all those newbies (like me) out there? I mean, it would help great if we could change our own car's oil!!!!!!! Try grab a friend or soemthing to take some pics during your next oil changes....All the newbies would be grateful!!!! :headspin: :headspin: :headspin: :headspin:
  3. Nope... No rattling at all.....just make sure u cover up any holes, gaps or 'leak's by some duct tape.....That should provide an 'enclosed box' for the subs to give that huge clear bass!!! But, dun expect the bass to ever be like that of a sub though.... The void between the car body and the interior trim is quite large, if u don't believe me, open up the interior trim and u'll know what I mean..This is perfect for a speaker housing/enclosure... However, the opeing in not a round shape, and hence, needs to be cut via a grinder.....just be sure to stay away from the pillar!!!!! centre the speakers as close to the pillar as possible... The interior armrest trim needs to also be cut...very simple with a jigsaw!!!! Anyone wanting a hand can always ask...especially if u live around the Sunnybank/Brissy area......More than happy to help a fellow skyline driver!!! I should have done a tutorial and posted it in here..but i only found out about this forum a few days ago.........(I got my Skyline about a week ago..) Hopefully I got enough time to put the subs and amp in this weekend....I got my steering upholstered yesterday...the job was crap...so I am taking it back on Sat to complain....But the guy did do a great job on the gear select shifter...(see 'Steering Wheel removal' for full details on my story)....
  4. Holy...... I got my car back from the upholsterer....I would not recommend him.....The gear select shifter was re-leather with EXCELLENT craftsmanship...but, the steering wheel.....It sticks out like dog's balls......It is craphouse....I am very disappointed.....Will take it back this Sat to complain.... He hasn't done the seat yet.....And will do it this Sat.....Boy, that cigarette butt burn is also an eyesore as well.... Hmmm..Maybe it's time to change the steering wheel completely? Better go search for one in the classifieds...... Anyone got a relatively good condition steering with airbag for sale? I'll post his details pending on how the guy resolves my steering wheel crisis!!!!
  5. Geez.... Really? What happened to fuel economy? I got a 2.5L Impreza RS as a company car and it drinks 11 L per 100kms......Hmmm.......
  6. Guys, Thanks for the response! I cannot hear the pump noise at all. 1. I will check the fuse(s) this weekend, what do I need to look for and where? 2. Check the lines and nozzle? Also a good idea, but why whould they be blocked in the 1st place? However, I doubt its the lines/nozzle....I hear no pump noise. 3. Private sale, I got it off a fellow asian who is "going home" back to asia....
  7. Guys, For any of you with an airbag on the steering wheel, just get it re-leathered. think it is illegal to remove the steering wheel with airbag and the Insurance companies void your insurance!!!! Don't risk it. I got mine re-leathered today and will pick it up this arvo...along with my auto gear selector. Cheap as chips...The bloke is charging me $150 for the re-leathering of wheel, and $70 for the gear shift selector. He is also re-upholstering the drivers seat velour fabric for $60 as it has a cigarette butt burn from the previous owner. Anyone interested can post a message up and I'll provide the details. I am located in Bris, the guy is at Capalaba.
  8. Anyone know a link for an R33 Workshop manual? Some dude on eBay wants $250 for it.....what a jib!!!!!
  9. Hey All, I've only bought my R33 a week ago and have booked it in for a Dyno and Performance tune. What i wanna know is: 1. Has anyone done a Dyno for their car and what to expect? 2. Costs? A place in Underwood (not disclosed) is charging me $275 plus parts for both servicing and dyno.... The car currently throws flames out the exhaust on high revs, not good at all!!!! And also, it drinks heaps of fuel.....I got 250kms from 35 L of premium unleaded...ouch!!!!! Will take it in this Mon 8/3/04. Wish me luck!
  10. Can anyone help me? R33 GTS-25T Type M, Series 1....I filled the wiper reservior with water, yet..no water is sprayed out from the wiper nozzles...I know the pump may have busted. 1. Where is the pump located in the engine bay? 2. How much to replace? And install? Pee-ing me off everytime I need to clean my windscreen!!!!! I just got the R33 1 week ago....
  11. I took out my back seats and parcel looking to install my Kenwood 7x10's. I scratched my head for 1/2 hour and then told myself, this can't be done..and even if I did get them in, the magnet would be too close to the battery for my liking! So......I installed them on the arm rests of the rear seats, just behind the front seats where the seat belt are. Took me about 40 mins to cut the right shape to fit the 1st speaker in. But the 2nd speaker was a breeze since I knew what to cut and how much to cut. I cut it with an angle grinder and made a bit of a mess. So if you plan to do it, cover the interior fabrics and have a vacuum cleaner handy!!! WARNING: DO NOT CUT ANY METAL BELONGING TO THE PILLAR STRUCTURE!!!! this will jeopardise the integrity of the car body. But in the end, it was sure well worth it!!!!!! The Kenwoods pump out solid bass..bloody unreal. And the sight of them next to the armrests are bloody unique!!! As for the rear crappy factory speakers, they make good door stops...hahaha..anyway, I may buy some 5.25" speakers as a replacement. This means my car will be a 6 speaker system...Oh yeah! Personally, I strongly recommend the rear parcel shelf speakers being replaced or removed, and having them next to the arm rest. By doing this, you leave heaps of room for a sub (s) and amp in the boot. And if the sub (s) go in, then the original holes for the speakers in the parcel shelf can act as a duct for bass to flow into the cabin - since the rear seats are enclosed and do not fold to the boot!!! Also, as I pointed out, having the speaker magnets so close to the battery terminal is a nono!!! This also eliminates the need to mdf the parcel shelf - quite a hassle to cut and carpet!!!! I'll try post some pics shortly. I still dun know how to use this forum fully, I am a newbie and got my R33 about a week ago (and spent the weekend doing this install)!!! :headspin: :headspin: :headspin:
