I'm with Lumley's insurance. When I spoke with them on Tuesday, I was told I would have to pay the excess and then they would try to get the funds from the family responsible and I would be reimbursed. They said this process is usually very lengthy and most of the time ineffective:( When I questioned her as to why I had to pay the excess considering I had a police report and the kids were arrested. She said that was their procedure:/

Thank you for the information, trust me I'm still very upset about it, and pissed that the law will allow them to get away with it. Bring back Capitol punishment! You make a very good point of our tax money is being used to benefit those people. I wish vandalism to personal property could be claimed back on taxes! As much as I'd love to peruse legal action, the last thing I want is a bunch of agro "Canadians" turning up at my house to trash it, or hurt my family. I'm at the point I just want to get my car fixed, Im tired of looking at the dents/scratches.

So, unfortunately it boils down to I have to pay for the damages. I've spoken with insurance, they said I could file a claim, pay the excess, have the car fixed and try to be reimbursed the excess from the family. But the outcome would be lengthly and probably wouldn't happen. Ive had body shop quotes all around the $2000 mark. Screw that, I don't want to loose my no claim bonus, and my premium go up. I've talked with Mario from the ding king, he's fixing the dents for $100, and andrew at smart finish is going to touch it up for $80. It probally won't be perfect, but at least it will look better than it does. I hope karma pays a visit to the little shits who did this. - Holly

That's what I am hoping, I really dont want to have to pay excess, or have a higher premium next year:/ I'm with Lumley's Insurance, they are closed today for the public holiday east, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to talk to them.

Thankyou everyone for the legal advise and moral support (and listening to my venting). I'm new to this forum, your comments, advise and genuineness is very much appreciated! I''m still really sad and pissed off about the whole thing, I just went out again and looked at the damage done to my car:( I'm going to talk to Lumleys tomorrow and seek there advise, and get quotes to get it fixed. I'm also going to call the cop who gave me the report to see what can be done about pressing charges:/ I highly doubt going about the situation through the legal system will get me anywhere. As much as I want these kids and their family punished for their behaviour, I may save myself the headache and say f*ck it, and just pay for it myself to get it fixed. Thanks for the repair info! I'll see how much the quotes are Monday. I'f they are too high I'll look into paintless dent removal. Unfortunately the paint has been chipped down to the metal:( Both kids were boys, they are from joondalup and their dads in jail. The cops said they didn't see much hope with me trying to get $$ out of the family:/ It really sucks, I've only driven the car 8 times since I bought it 3 weeks ago:(

They were crying again when the cops cuffed them. I've only had my car for 3 weeks.... I was out for a drive today in Perth with my boyfriend, driving down Gt Eastern Highway when my V35 was pelted with rocks! I pulled over and my boyfriend chased the little sh*ts who threw the rocks. I called the cops, and they came and arrested the stupid kids. But unfortunetly they are too young to be charged, and well, nothing will happen to them except for a slap on the wrist. And I'm basically responsible for paying for the damage.... my poor baby:( I'm going to get quotes on Monday for the damage, hopefully it is not too much! In the mean time, if someone could give me the paint code for brilliant siver, I would be most gracious. one of the kids who did it.....
