  1. Hey guys, you have no idea how brutaly upset i am at myself for doing this, but we'll forget all that stuff for now. I slowly reversed into a parked car in a server the other day. It's a black 99-00 celica... basically hit it's rear bar with my rear quater... The damage was basically reasonably heavy scratching which to my eye looks like sanding it back and respraying... no actaul structural damage or anything... The guy knows the pannelbeater that his insurance (nrma) would go through and basically said if it went through insurance they'd charde $1200 or outside insurance will cost $700... They guy i hit has been pretty patient while i try and figure something out but he doesn't really want to drive around to different places looking for other quotes (fair enough). I went and found the owner when i hit the car and have every intention of paying to get it fixed well, but is there anything i can really do to try and find a place cheaper? i'm assuming not.... Also, on a side note... I've got full comp on the car but the excess is something like $2100... i know if i had third party property the excess would be less... can you make a claim soley as a third party claim? potentially reducing the excess etc?? Thanks for any help or advise. Regards, Casey
  2. Decks sold, rest of the geear still FS....
  3. Here's some pics for those who asked... prolly easier then sending pms for it... I've had the decks for a few years... used on and off during that time. needles maybe a year old... cases about a year old, as with the headphones.... decks are mechanically a1... still start and stop as tho they were new... tonearms are beautifully balanced, none of this 5c coin on the end... needles do not skip but for the most hamfisted of us... they look great too. unbelievable setup for anyone who doesn't want to buy any gear every again.... Got about 2.5 crates worth of records.... rnb + hip hop, breaks, funky house etc.... feel free to pm or call 0405 122 572. would love to sell as a package but may be willing to seperate... Thanks Burnsey

  5. apart from fuel ~$60/week, tyres $900 every 6-8 months and insurance, besides modding you gotta watch out for when unexpected things go wrong... case in point... clutch left.... -$1200 rotors + pads - $500 exhaust manifold gasket - $ 700 car being stolen and having to come up with $2100 excess .... -$2100 you gotta make sure you got some funnds in reserve all the time, otherwise you left with a dayum nice paper weight.... 6. I think i may have seen you out there reedy. I was the white series 1.5 with it's hood up for most of the day in the 2nd row of garages... after the first session, found out my oil line to the turbo sprung a leak... so rest of the day was passengering in my mates s15. had one drive of his car and got ~1.16 hand timed i think... not too bad for a car i'd never driven.... Getting the problem sorted and new brake fluid for next time! hopefully get some decent consistant times... Hey Abo bob, what mods are you running while getting those sorts of times?? Thanks Burnsey
  7. would much prefer a weekday but with a new job it makes it hard :'( thanks for the link, a nice read... i'm sure it's very similar to the bike days... just wondering what it's like with other cars out there and passing and stuff. they say passing only on the straight... what happens if some1's up your ass the whole time or visa versa... would suck to have to spend the lap following them/following you... either way should be great! 8. Gday, heading to my first car track day this weekend at wakefield saturday... Anyone else going to this? Never been to wakefield, never been in a car either so hoping it's gonna be alright and not too busy... Anyone been to their no limits days? any good bad comments? specially going on weekend?
  9. Might have to join up one of these days....!! Burnsey
  10. anymore skid pan days organised for jan/feb?? missed these ones unfortuantely :'( Thanks Burnsey
  11. nice post... seems as tho every bike and car mag in the world are doing these comparisons now! Burnsey
  12. yeah that definately isn't right... any modern car should be able to handle regular driving, on a poo hot day with aircon on no probs... my r33 will never go over the half way mark even with some decent driving and aircon, that's with bigger tubro and 1.2 bar... Burnsey
  13. Any idea if it would fit, or if much modifying would be in order to fit it to r33 gtst? Burnsey
  14. Sold or still for sale? Thanks Casey
  15. I think this is definately something people who enjoy driving like doing. Granted i'm sure a lot of other peeps do this too but you know... While between cars I used to drive down to wollongong via RNP and coast road (before roadworks) in my folks toyota tarago! ahh memories... Burnsey
  16. Tell me about it... It's turned me into a non waiving bastard! But yeah, was definately me. You live anywhere near that area?? Burnsey
  17. Hey hey! Saw a black r33 gtst with 'UUUGE front mount on sydney park road near St Peters station this arvo. Got a wave which i wasn't expecting so sorry for the non respnse! I was in a white r33 gtst. Anyone here? Burnsey
  18. Well I've run mine (s1.5) past the E and ran with the light on for a while to see how far it'd go... (ala sienfeld!) Eventually the engine started sputting if i was on a hill or accelerating anyhting more then a 900cc charade could do. Went to fill it up and it put 63.9 litres in... so considering fuel lines, plus fuel pump, i reckon it was just about empty. So now, when the light comes on, I look for a BP... If I had to estimate I'd say around 30kms left after the light came on... Burnsey

    Nasho Run?

Are you guys interested in going for a drive/cruise during the day through there?? For some reason my night vision seems to be getting worse and worse so i barely even drive at night now. But during the day, I'll be there this weekend if anyones keen? For that matter, even heading up north through the old pac hwy to gosford way? PM me if so... Burnsey
  20. Gday mate, Where abouts in sydney are you located to come have a look? Thanks Burnsey
  21. where abouts are you located? I assume the muffler is not a whole cat back system, but something you'd need to weld onto the piping after the cat? Thanks Burnsey
  22. I've got a friend who's wanting to sell his '93 r33 gts-T manual with under 100k kms on it for around a similar price. It's in decent condition and just wants to get rid of it. pretty standard except for basics. There are people that are stuck and just want to get rid of a car and willing to sell it cheap cheap...
  23. That's bad news mate... People always say that most immobilsers aren't worth anything as a *real* theif will get it if they really want it. At least this goes to show that one will stop little punks that want to go for a joyride... Sorry to hear about it but be happy you've still got your beast... Also, I have a 12in mtx in a box sitting at home as we're selling my girlfriends Festiva. In new condition, hardly used and no marks or anything. Dunno what specs it is but seemed to pump alright in her car. PM me if your interested. Thanks Burnsey
  24. Yes, I think predictabilty is the key! If you are driving at those kinds of speeds, you want to know your car is going to do what you want it to do and what your asking it to do... not throw you a curve ball mid corner and say "here, try and guess what the car is doing now". To the HICAS locking establishment! Btw, I'm sure there are some good threads, but any quick recommendations for good suspension places in and around either alexandria or hurstville?? Thanks heaps, Burnsey
  25. Wel by 90++ corners i was kinda reffering to corners that you usually can take at well over the speed limit. At any rate, I'm going to head to wakefield and see how it goes, I feel a lot more confident on a track and knowing where the road will take me over the next rise. This should give me a good idea if it's all in my head or if there really is some stability issues. Thanks all for your input... (please say it's all in my head, please say it's all in my head) :chairshot Thanks again, Burnsey
