  1. Definately, the cd doesn't worry me that much, but definately posters and lots of them, women, cars, jokes, technical, questions.. all round kinda thing
  2. True, but with the ease and cost of turbocharging, seems to be the easy way out.
  3. I still disagree, I've been young and all of my friends were too, obviously, I remember what every single one of them were like. Some owning little charades, 121's. No matter how mature you say you are your going to find the urge to use your extra acceleration for crazy stuff. Now when you try that crazy stuff, because you should, or else your not learning your own limits. When you try that stuff, would you rather be in a 20 thousand dollar skyline. or a 3 Thousand dollar shitbox. There is no way a young male is gonna keep his foot off the gas no matter how mature he thinks he is.

    Misc. Car Videos

Yeah you can burn them if your dvd player is compatible with avi etc. Liteon software has a codec you can use.
  5. Well if a VL driver doesn't know his own car has a Nissan engine in it he deserves to be called a tool. I've got an 88 model 5spd VL, and I had a race with a mate in his 31 also 5 speed, I had Rims, exhaust extractors. His was stock rims and exhaust, I started pulling away towards the end of the 400. Yeah the 31 has a nice build, The shape is alright, but there are ALOT of poor looking 31's around, just like there are many poor looking vl's around. I think everythings been said about VL having issues with CAS, I only just replaced mine a month ago after 15 odd years of service. Cracked heads - only because of incorrect filling of coolant. Because the radiator is lower then the engine. I prefer the vl for looks, without kits etc. Interior is a tough one, theres going to be mixed opinions due to bias etc. But I think the skylines interior is a little boxy, in the dash etc, where as the vls dash seems rounder, as for carpet, center console and seats I'd take the skyline. Yeah, drum brakes suck, 25 spline is fine for n/a power. But all in all they are both great cars. However I'm selling my vl to get a 32. Need something a touch newer. (not because I don't want a vl)
  6. yep, entysu has a good technique, but you definately have to follow it up afterwards and polish everything off, kero or metho usually leave a white powdery finish if you leave it.
  7. Would look better without the gay wing and the stainless around the exhaust.
  8. well when i do mine i let loose with a can of degreaser, and a heap of elbow grease, solacare stuff on the plastics, and degreaser on the metal. other people may have other techniques but i find that to be the easiest way.
  9. I've read a few stories of the 32 gtr being laggy around corners until you put your foot down, then the nose comes back into line and you powerlide out. As for laggy, boost comes on at 3,500 doesn't it? Does it come on quicker in the 33 and 34?
  10. less revs.. more clutch release. comes with practice, may even want to get it adjusted. i take it that its only happening when your starting in first or reverse? by the time the cars initially moving forwards with your revs still down towards 1grand.. smoothly release the clutch fully and continue accelerating. sorry if its something else attributing to it.
  11. No mate, not drag nor drift, probably something with a bit of power, nothing over the top, but more of an everyday driver. The reason why I'm thinking keep the mx7 is because I've heard the gearbox that comes behind the RB20det is pretty weak.
  12. Each type of brake pad would have different bedding in instructions as per manufacturer, for example my last set were 50-5km 10 or so times.. and that was it. But I'd say thats a pretty common setup. Good work
  13. countless hours manual, didn't take me too long to pick it up when i was first learning though. but your a guy it should come easily. if you were a chick, you'd never be able to get it:P
  14. As in will the mx7 - 5speed turbo gearbox out of vlt, fit into the skylines driveline tunnel. And would the gearstick come out in the same place in the cabin? I'm assuming the engine mounts would be the same as they are all the same series. I'm just trying to decide whether to put an rb30/25 with the mx7 gearbox in or to go with something else.
  15. Thanks for the quick reply, well currently I'm in the middle of converting my n/a vl. But I'm getting slack on that and want something newer.. Not much newer but still. Hows the MX7 go bolting up, will it fit in driveline channel and have the stick poking out in the same area? I'm assuming engine mounts would be the same for all rbs or very similar. May even buy one complete and sell engine/ gearbox, do a transplant into my vl. Got me onto another idea, thanks champ.
  16. Well I'm looking at getting either an R32 GTR or, an engine and gearbox-less 32. I'd be putting in either an RB25det or an RB30et. What do you think would be a good price on a gts-t etc with a blown engine. Will I need to do any mods to the brakes for the power? Are the rear axles 28 spline, I'm assuming yes. What has 5 stud and what has 4 stud. I'm basically looking for something thats already tough that will handle a half cut or similar. And I'd only want to pay 6-10k for that car if everything was in good condition - minus engine gearbox. Tell me what you think.
  17. They are their boyfriends car, they just get it during the day while the guy is paying off his debts:p
  18. You've mentioned the Falcon, XR6 XR8 and XR6t You've always got the VL with the RB30e RB30et and the 8.. 115kw stock flywheel for n/a and 150flywheel stock from the turbs. I *think*
  19. I disagree, for a first car you want something that you can drive and not have too much power underneath you ready to become another statistic, and or damage the car. I'd much rather something with less power for a beginner to learn in. And as already been mentioned, power to weight may mean you cannot drive it anyway. As for power etc, depends what kind of car you want gtr would be a dream, the old rb20det would be good for a first car I reckon. But the odd skyline would still get beaten by a few imports, maybe even a vlt here and there. Insurance, if your 16-17-18 will be a bitch, probably looking at 1,500 upwards. In my opinion, by a little gemini have your fun, thrash it, give it a carby and an exhaust and do some mild work, if you can handle a little bit of power that way, then use the money you saved in that year or so of driving the gemini. To put towards getting a skyline. You may also want to consider whether you want to be in debt for the next 10 years of your life... Unless you've got good parents. Best of luck with what you choose, but honestly I reckon a nice car like a skyline should be saved until your ready to look after it and respect it.
  20. Yeah I liked it, was a good little game to play while I had a mates xbox. What are your style points like? get them up a bit. Strange how you didn't get on any covers doing the races.
  21. Yeah as already been said, some good brake fluid and a fresh bleed, May even want to consider a new set of pads depending on how hard you'll be pushing. And a few dash mounted camera's so we can all see your efforts.
